thus <DAN1 -:16 > {Thus} Melzar took away the portion of their meat,
and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.

and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break

strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; {thus}
shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting
her: but she shall not stand [on his side], neither be for him.

a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge [and] increase with glory:
and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land
for gain.

and brimstone: and the heads of the horses [were] as the heads of
lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
