Deuteronomy 1

1. These <0428> [be] the words <01697> which <0834> Moses <04872> spake <01696> unto all <03605> Israel <03478> on this side <05676> Jordan <03383> in the wilderness <04057>, in the plain <06160> over <04136> against <04136> the Red <05489> [sea <03220>], between <0996> Paran <06290>, and Tophel <08603>, and Laban <03837>, and Hazeroth <02698>, and Dizahab <01774>.

2 ([There are] eleven days <03117>' [journey] from Horeb <02722> by the way <01870> of mount <02022> Seir <08165> unto Kadeshbarnea <06947>.)

3 And it came <01961> to pass in the fortieth <0705> year <08141>, in the eleventh month <02320>, on the first <0259> [day] of the month <02320>, [that] Moses <04872> spake <01696> unto the children <01121> of Israel <03478>, according unto all <03605> that the LORD <03068> had given him in commandment <06680> unto them;

4 After <0310> he had slain <05221> Sihon <05511> the king <04428> of the Amorites <0567>, which <0834> dwelt <03427> in Heshbon <02809>, and Og <05747> the king <04428> of Bashan <01316>, which <0834> dwelt <03427> at Astaroth <06252> in Edrei <0154>:

5 On this side <05676> Jordan <03383>, in the land <0776> of Moab <04124>, began <02974> Moses <04872> to declare <0874> this <02063> law <08451>, saying <0559>,

6 The LORD <03068> our God <0430> spake <01696> unto us in Horeb <02722>, saying <0559>, Ye have dwelt <03427> long <07227> enough in this <02088> mount <02022>:

7 Turn <06437> you, and take your journey <05265>, and go <0935> to the mount <02022> of the Amorites <0567>, and unto all <03605> [the places] nigh <07934> thereunto, in the plain <06160>, in the hills <02022>, and in the vale <08219>, and in the south <05045>, and by the sea <03220> side <02348>, to the land <0776> of the Canaanites <03669>, and unto Lebanon <03844>, unto the great <01419> river <05104>, the river <05104> Euphrates <06578>.

8 Behold <07200>, I have set <05414> the land <0776> before <06440> you: go <0935> in and possess <03423> the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> sware <07650> unto your fathers <01>, Abraham <085>, Isaac <03327>, and Jacob <03290>, to give <05414> unto them and to their seed <02233> after <0310> them.

9. And I spake <0559> unto you at that time <06256>, saying <0559>, I am not able <03201> to bear <05375> you myself alone <0905>:

10 The LORD <03068> your God <0430> hath multiplied <07235> you, and, behold <02009>, ye [are] this day <03117> as the stars <03556> of heaven <08064> for multitude <07230>.

11 (The LORD <03068> God <0430> of your fathers <01> make you a thousand <0505> times <06471> so many more <03254> as ye [are], and bless <01288> you, as he hath promised <01696> you!)

12 How <0349> can I myself alone <0905> bear <05375> your cumbrance <02960>, and your burden <04853>, and your strife <07379>?

13 Take <03051> you wise <02450> men <0582>, and understanding <0995>, and known <03045> among your tribes <07626>, and I will make <07760> them rulers <07218> over you.

14 And ye answered <06030> me, and said <0559>, The thing <01697> which <0834> thou hast spoken <01696> [is] good <02896> [for us] to do <06213>.

15 So I took <03947> the chief <07218> of your tribes <07626>, wise <02450> men <0582>, and known <03045>, and made <05414> them heads <07218> over <05921> you, captains <08269> over thousands <0505>, and captains <08269> over hundreds <03967>, and captains <08269> over fifties <02572>, and captains <08269> over tens <06235>, and officers <07860> among your tribes <07626>.

16 And I charged <06680> your judges <08199> at that time <06256>, saying <0559>, Hear <08085> [the causes] between <0996> your brethren <0251>, and judge <08199> righteously <06664> between <0996> [every] man <0376> and his brother <0251>, and the stranger <01616> [that is] with him.

17 Ye shall not respect <05234> persons <06440> in judgment <04941>; [but] ye shall hear <08085> the small <06996> as well as the great <01419>; ye shall not be afraid <01481> of the face <06440> of man <0376>; for the judgment <04941> [is] God's <0430>: and the cause <01697> that is too hard <07185> for you, bring <07126> [it] unto me, and I will hear <08085> it.

18 And I commanded <06680> you at that time all <03605> the things <01697> which <0834> ye should do <06213>.

19. And when we departed <05265> from Horeb <02722>, we went <03212> through all <03605> that great <01419> and terrible <03372> wilderness <04057>, which <0834> ye saw <07200> by the way <01870> of the mountain <02022> of the Amorites <0567>, as the LORD <03068> our God <0430> commanded <06680> us; and we came <0935> to Kadeshbarnea <06947>.

20 And I said <0559> unto you, Ye are come <0935> unto the mountain <02022> of the Amorites <0567>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> our God <0430> doth give <05414> unto us.

21 Behold <07200>, the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath set <05414> the land <0776> before <06440> thee: go <05927> up [and] possess <03423> [it], as the LORD <03068> God <0430> of thy fathers <01> hath said <01696> unto thee; fear <03372> not, neither <0408> be discouraged <02865>.

22 And ye came <07126> near <07126> unto me every <03605> one of you, and said <0559>, We will send <07971> men <0582> before <06440> us, and they shall search <02658> us out the land <0776>, and bring <07725> us word <01697> again <07725> by what <0834> way <01870> we must go <05927> up, and into what <0853> cities <05892> we shall come <0935>.

23 And the saying <01697> pleased me well: and I took <03947> twelve men <0582> of you, one <0259> of a tribe <07626>:

24 And they turned <06437> and went <05927> up into the mountain <02022>, and came <0935> unto the valley <05158> of Eshcol <0812>, and searched <07270> it out.

25 And they took <03947> of the fruit <06529> of the land <0776> in their hands <03027>, and brought <03381> [it] down <03381> unto us, and brought <07725> us word <01697> again <07725>, and said <0559>, [It is] a good <02896> land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> our God <0430> doth give <05414> us.

26 Notwithstanding ye would <014> not go <05927> up, but rebelled <04784> against the commandment <06310> of the LORD <03068> your God <0430>:

27 And ye murmured <07279> in your tents <0168>, and said <0559>, Because the LORD <03068> hated <08135> us, he hath brought <03318> us forth <03318> out of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>, to deliver <05414> us into the hand <03027> of the Amorites <0567>, to destroy <08045> us.

28 Whither <0575> shall we go <05927> up? our brethren <0251> have discouraged <04549> our heart <03824>, saying <0559>, The people <05971> [is] greater <01419> and taller <07311> than we; the cities <05892> [are] great <01419> and walled <01219> up to heaven <08064>; and moreover <01571> we have seen <07200> the sons <01121> of the Anakims <06062> there <08033>.

29 Then I said <0559> unto you, Dread <06206> not, neither <03808> be afraid <03372> of them.

30 The LORD <03068> your God <0430> which goeth <01980> before <06440> you, he shall fight <03898> for you, according to all <03605> that he did <06213> for you in Egypt <04714> before your eyes <05869>;

31 And in the wilderness <04057>, where <0834> thou hast seen <07200> how that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> bare <05375> thee, as a man <0376> doth bear <05375> his son <01121>, in all <03605> the way <01870> that ye went <01980>, until <05704> ye came <0935> into <05704> this place <04725>.

32 Yet in this <02088> thing <01697> ye did not believe <0539> the LORD <03068> your God <0430>,

33 Who went <01980> in the way <01870> before <06440> you, to search <08446> you out a place <04725> to pitch <02583> your tents [in], in fire <0784> by night <03915>, to shew <07200> you by what <0834> way <01870> ye should go <03212>, and in a cloud <06051> by day <03119>.

34 And the LORD <03068> heard <08085> the voice <06963> of your words <01697>, and was wroth <07107>, and sware <07650>, saying <0559>,

35 Surely <0518> there shall not one <0376> of these <0428> men <0582> of this <02088> evil <07451> generation <01755> see <07200> that good <02896> land <0776>, which <0834> I sware <07650> to give <05414> unto your fathers <01>,

36 Save <02108> Caleb <03612> the son <01121> of Jephunneh <03312>; he shall see <07200> it, and to him will I give <05414> the land <0776> that he hath trodden <01869> upon, and to his children <01121>, because he hath wholly <04390> followed <0310> the LORD <03068>.

37 Also <01571> the LORD <03068> was angry <0599> with me for your sakes <01558>, saying <0559>, Thou also <01571> shalt not go <0935> in thither <08033>.

38 [But] Joshua <03091> the son <01121> of Nun <05126>, which standeth <05975> before <06440> thee, he shall go <0935> in thither <08033>: encourage <02388> him: for he shall cause Israel <03478> to inherit <02157> it.

39 Moreover your little <02945> ones, which <0834> ye said <0559> should be a prey <0957>, and your children <01121>, which <0834> in that day <03117> had no <03808> knowledge <03045> between good <02896> and evil <07451>, they shall go <0935> in thither <08033>, and unto them will I give <05414> it, and they shall possess <03423> it.

40 But [as for] you, turn <06437> you, and take your journey <05265> into the wilderness <04057> by the way <01870> of the Red <05488> sea <03220>.

41 Then ye answered <06030> and said <0559> unto me, We have sinned <02398> against the LORD <03068>, we will go <05927> up and fight <03898>, according to all <03605> that the LORD <03068> our God <0430> commanded <06680> us. And when ye had girded <02296> on every <0376> man <0376> his weapons <03627> of war <04421>, ye were ready <01951> to go <05927> up into the hill <02022>.

42 And the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto me, Say <0559> unto them, Go <05927> not up, neither <03808> fight <03898>; for I [am] not among <07130> you; lest <03808> ye be smitten <05062> before <06440> your enemies <0341>.

43 So I spake <01696> unto you; and ye would not hear <08085>, but rebelled <04784> against the commandment <06310> of the LORD <03068>, and went <05927> presumptuously <02102> up into the hill <02022>.

44 And the Amorites <0567>, which dwelt <03427> in that mountain <02022>, came <03318> out against <07125> you, and chased <07291> you, as bees <01682> do <06213>, and destroyed <03807> you in Seir <08165>, [even] unto Hormah <02767>.

45 And ye returned <07725> and wept <01058> before <06440> the LORD <03068>; but the LORD <03068> would not hearken <08085> to your voice <06963>, nor <03808> give ear <0238> unto you.

46 So ye abode <03427> in Kadesh <06946> many <07227> days <03117>, according unto the days <03117> that ye abode <03427> [there].

Deuteronomy 2

1. Then we turned <06437>, and took <05265> our journey <05265> into the wilderness <04057> by the way <01870> of the Red <05488> sea <03220>, as the LORD <03068> spake <01696> unto me: and we compassed <05437> mount <02022> Seir <08165> many <07227> days <03117>.

2 And the LORD <03068> spake <0559> unto me, saying <0559>,

3 Ye have compassed <05437> this <02088> mountain <02022> long <07227> enough: turn <06437> you northward <06828>.

4 And command <06680> thou the people <05971>, saying <0559>, Ye [are] to pass <05674> through the coast <01366> of your brethren <0251> the children <01121> of Esau <06215>, which dwell <03427> in Seir <08165>; and they shall be afraid <03372> of you: take ye good <03966> heed <08104> unto yourselves therefore:

5 Meddle <01624> not with them; for I will not give <05414> you of their land <0776>, no, not so much <05704> as a foot <07272> breadth <04096>; because <03588> I have given <05414> mount <02022> Seir <08165> unto Esau <06215> [for] a possession <03425>.

6 Ye shall buy <07666> meat <0400> of them for money <03701>, that ye may eat <0398>; and ye shall also <01571> buy <03739> water <04325> of them for money <03701>, that ye may drink <08354>.

7 For the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath blessed <01288> thee in all <03605> the works <04639> of thy hand <03027>: he knoweth <03045> thy walking <03212> through this <02088> great <01419> wilderness <04057>: these <02088> forty <0705> years <08141> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> [hath been] with thee; thou hast lacked <02637> nothing <03808>.

8. And when we passed <05674> by from our brethren <0251> the children <01121> of Esau <06215>, which dwelt <03427> in Seir <08165>, through the way <01870> of the plain <06160> from Elath <0359>, and from Eziongaber <06100>, we turned <06437> and passed <05674> by the way <01870> of the wilderness <04057> of Moab <04124>.

9 And the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto me, Distress <06696> not the Moabites <04124>, neither <0408> contend <01624> with them in battle <04421>: for I will not give <05414> thee of their land <0776> [for] a possession <03425>; because <03588> I have given <05414> Ar <06144> unto the children <01121> of Lot <03876> [for] a possession <03425>.

10 The Emims <0368> dwelt <03427> therein in times past, a people <05971> great <01419>, and many <07227>, and tall <07311>, as the Anakims <06062>;

11 Which <01992> also <0637> were accounted <02803> giants <07497>, as the Anakims <06062>; but the Moabites <04125> call <07121> them Emims <0368>.

12 The Horims <02752> also dwelt <03427> in Seir <08165> beforetime <06440>; but the children <01121> of Esau <06215> succeeded <03423> them, when they had destroyed <08045> them from before <06440> them, and dwelt <03427> in their stead <08478>; as Israel <03478> did <06213> unto the land <0776> of his possession <03425>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> gave <05414> unto them.

13 Now <06258> rise <06965> up, [said I], and get <05674> you over <05674> the brook <05158> Zered <02218>. And we went <05674> over <05674> the brook <05158> Zered <02218>.

14 And the space <03117> in which <0834> we came <01980> from Kadeshbarnea <06947>, until <05704> we were come <05674> over <05674> the brook <05158> Zered <02218>, [was] thirty <07970> and eight <08083> years <08141>; until <05704> all <03605> the generation <01755> of the men <0582> of war <04421> were wasted <08552> out from among <07130> the host <04264>, as the LORD <03068> sware <07650> unto them.

15 For indeed <01571> the hand <03027> of the LORD <03068> was against them, to destroy <02000> them from among <07130> the host <04264>, until <05704> they were consumed <08552>.

16 So it came <01961> to pass, when <0834> all <03605> the men <0582> of war <04421> were consumed <08552> and dead <04191> from among <07130> the people <05971>,

17 That the LORD <03068> spake <01696> unto me, saying <0559>,

18 Thou art to pass <05674> over <05674> through Ar <06144>, the coast <01366> of Moab <04124>, this day <03117>:

19 And [when] thou comest <07126> nigh <07126> over <04136> against <04136> the children <01121> of Ammon <05983>, distress <06696> them not, nor <0408> meddle <01624> with them: for I will not give <05414> thee of the land <0776> of the children <01121> of Ammon <05983> [any] possession <03425>; because <03588> I have given <05414> it unto the children <01121> of Lot <03876> [for] a possession <03425>.

20 (That also <0637> was accounted <02803> a land <0776> of giants <07497>: giants <07497> dwelt <03427> therein in old <06440> time; and the Ammonites <05984> call <07121> them Zamzummims;

21 A people <05971> great <01419>, and many <07227>, and tall <07311>, as the Anakims <06062>; but the LORD <03068> destroyed <08045> them before <06440> them; and they succeeded <03423> them, and dwelt <03427> in their stead <08478>:

22 As he did <06213> to the children <01121> of Esau <06215>, which dwelt <03427> in Seir <08165>, when <0834> he destroyed <08045> the Horims <02752> from before <06440> them; and they succeeded <03423> them, and dwelt <03427> in their stead <08478> even unto this <02088> day <03117>:

23 And the Avims <05757> which dwelt <03427> in Hazerim <02699>, [even] unto Azzah <05804>, the Caphtorims <03732>, which came <03318> forth <03318> out of Caphtor <03731>, destroyed <08045> them, and dwelt <03427> in their stead <08478>.)

24. Rise <06965> ye up, take your journey <05265>, and pass <05674> over <05674> the river <05158> Arnon <0769>: behold <07200>, I have given <05414> into thine hand <03027> Sihon <05511> the Amorite <0567>, king <04428> of Heshbon <02809>, and his land <0776>: begin <02490> to possess <03423> [it], and contend <01624> with him in battle <04421>.

25 This <02088> day <03117> will I begin <02490> to put <05414> the dread <06343> of thee and the fear <03374> of thee upon the nations <05971> [that are] under <08478> the whole <03605> heaven <08064>, who <0834> shall hear <08085> report <08088> of thee, and shall tremble <07264>, and be in anguish <02342> because <06440> of thee.

26 And I sent <07971> messengers <04397> out of the wilderness <04057> of Kedemoth <06932> unto Sihon <05511> king <04428> of Heshbon <02809> with words <01697> of peace <07965>, saying <0559>,

27 Let me pass <05674> through thy land <0776>: I will go <03212> along by the high <01870> way <01870>, I will neither <03808> turn <05493> unto the right <03225> hand <03225> nor to the left <08040>.

28 Thou shalt sell <07666> me meat <0400> for money <03701>, that I may eat <0398>; and give <05414> me water <04325> for money <03701>, that I may drink <08354>: only <07535> I will pass <05674> through on my feet <07272>;

29 (As the children <01121> of Esau <06215> which dwell <03427> in Seir <08165>, and the Moabites <04125> which dwell <03427> in Ar <06144>, did <06213> unto me;) until <05704> I shall pass <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383> into <0413> the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> our God <0430> giveth <05414> us.

30 But Sihon <05511> king <04428> of Heshbon <02809> would <014> not let us pass <05674> by him: for the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hardened <07185> his spirit <07307>, and made his heart <03824> obstinate <0553>, that he might deliver <05414> him into thy hand <03027>, as [appeareth] this <02088> day <03117>.

31 And the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto me, Behold <07200>, I have begun <02490> to give <05414> Sihon <05511> and his land <0776> before <06440> thee: begin <02490> to possess <03423>, that thou mayest inherit <03423> his land <0776>.

32 Then Sihon <05511> came <03318> out against <07125> us, he and all <03605> his people <05971>, to fight <04421> at Jahaz <03096>.

33 And the LORD <03068> our God <0430> delivered <05414> him before <06440> us; and we smote <05221> him, and his sons <01121>, and all <03605> his people <05971>.

34 And we took <03920> all <03605> his cities <05892> at that time <06256>, and utterly destroyed <02763> the men <04962>, and the women <0802>, and the little <02945> ones, of every <03605> city <05892>, we left <07604> none <03808> to remain <08300>:

35 Only <07535> the cattle <0929> we took for a prey <0962> unto ourselves, and the spoil <07998> of the cities <05892> which <0834> we took <03920>.

36 From Aroer <06177>, which <0834> [is] by the brink <08193> of the river <05158> of Arnon <0769>, and [from] the city <05892> that [is] by the river <05158>, even unto Gilead <01568>, there was not one city <07151> too strong <07682> for us: the LORD <03068> our God <0430> delivered <05414> all <03605> unto us:

37 Only <07535> unto the land <0776> of the children <01121> of Ammon <05983> thou camest <07126> not, [nor] unto any <03605> place <03027> of the river <05158> Jabbok <02999>, nor unto the cities <05892> in the mountains <02022>, nor unto whatsoever <03605> the LORD <03068> our God <0430> forbad <06680> us.

Deuteronomy 3

1. Then we turned <06437>, and went <05927> up the way <01870> to Bashan <01316>: and Og <05747> the king <04428> of Bashan <01316> came <03318> out against <07125> us, he and all <03605> his people <05971>, to battle <04421> at Edrei <0154>.

2 And the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto me, Fear <03372> him not: for I will deliver <05414> him, and all <03605> his people <05971>, and his land <0776>, into thy hand <03027>; and thou shalt do <06213> unto him as thou didst <06213> unto Sihon <05511> king <04428> of the Amorites <0567>, which <0834> dwelt <03427> at Heshbon <02809>.

3 So the LORD <03068> our God <0430> delivered <05414> into our hands <03027> Og <05747> also <01571>, the king <04428> of Bashan <01316>, and all <03605> his people <05971>: and we smote <05221> him until <05704> none <01115> was left <07604> to him remaining <08300>.

4 And we took <03920> all <03605> his cities <05892> at that time <06256>, there was not a city <07151> which <0834> we took <03947> not from them, threescore <08346> cities <05892>, all <03605> the region <02256> of Argob <0709>, the kingdom <04467> of Og <05747> in Bashan <01316>.

5 All <03605> these <0428> cities <05892> [were] fenced <01219> with high <01364> walls <02346>, gates <01817>, and bars <01280>; beside <0905> unwalled <06521> towns <05892> a great <03966> many <07227>.

6 And we utterly destroyed <02763> them, as we did <06213> unto Sihon <05511> king <04428> of Heshbon <02809>, utterly destroying <02763> the men <04962>, women <0802>, and children <02945>, of every <03605> city <05892>.

7 But all <03605> the cattle <0929>, and the spoil <07998> of the cities <05892>, we took for a prey <0962> to ourselves.

8 And we took <03947> at that time <06256> out of the hand <03027> of the two <08147> kings <04428> of the Amorites <0567> the land <0776> that [was] on this side <05676> Jordan <03383>, from the river <05158> of Arnon <0769> unto mount <02022> Hermon <02768>;

9 ([Which] Hermon <02768> the Sidonians <06722> call <07121> Sirion <08304>; and the Amorites <0567> call <07121> it Shenir <08149>;)

10 All <03605> the cities <05892> of the plain <04334>, and all <03605> Gilead <01568>, and all <03605> Bashan <01316>, unto Salchah <05548> and Edrei <0154>, cities <05892> of the kingdom <04467> of Og <05747> in Bashan <01316>.

11 For only <07535> Og <05747> king <04428> of Bashan <01316> remained <07604> of the remnant <03499> of giants <07497>; behold <02009>, his bedstead <06210> [was] a bedstead <06210> of iron <01270>; [is] it not in Rabbath <07237> of the children <01121> of Ammon <05983>? nine <08672> cubits <0520> [was] the length <0753> thereof, and four <0702> cubits <0520> the breadth <07341> of it, after the cubit <0520> of a man <0376>.

12. And this <02063> land <0776>, [which] we possessed <03423> at that time <06256>, from Aroer <06177>, which <0834> [is] by the river <05158> Arnon <0769>, and half <02677> mount <02022> Gilead <01568>, and the cities <05892> thereof, gave <05414> I unto the Reubenites <07206> and to the Gadites <01425>.

13 And the rest <03499> of Gilead <01568>, and all <03605> Bashan <01316>, [being] the kingdom <04467> of Og <05747>, gave <05414> I unto the half <02677> tribe <07626> of Manasseh <04519>; all <03605> the region <02256> of Argob <0709>, with all <03605> Bashan <01316>, which <01931> was called <07121> the land <0776> of giants <07497>.

14 Jair <02971> the son <01121> of Manasseh <04519> took <03947> all <03605> the country <02256> of Argob <0709> unto the coasts <01366> of Geshuri <01651> and Maachathi <04602>; and called <07121> them after <05921> his own name <08034>, Bashanhavothjair, unto this <02088> day <03117>.

15 And I gave <05414> Gilead <01568> unto Machir <04353>.

16 And unto the Reubenites <07206> and unto the Gadites <01425> I gave <05414> from Gilead <01568> even unto the river <05158> Arnon <0769> half <08432> the valley <05158>, and the border <01366> even unto the river <05158> Jabbok <02999>, [which is] the border <01366> of the children <01121> of Ammon <05983>;

17 The plain <06160> also, and Jordan <03383>, and the coast <01366> [thereof], from Chinnereth <03672> even unto the sea <03220> of the plain <06160>, [even] the salt <04417> sea <03220>, under <08478> Ashdothpisgah eastward <04217>.

18 And I commanded <06680> you at that time <06256>, saying <0559>, The LORD <03068> your God <0430> hath given <05414> you this <02063> land <0776> to possess <03423> it: ye shall pass <05674> over <05674> armed <02502> before <06440> your brethren <0251> the children <01121> of Israel <03478>, all <03605> [that are] meet <01121> for the war <02438>.

19 But your wives <0802>, and your little <02945> ones, and your cattle <04735>, ([for] I know <03045> that ye have much <07227> cattle <04735>,) shall abide <03427> in your cities <05892> which <0834> I have given <05414> you;

20 Until <05704> the LORD <03068> have given rest <05117> unto your brethren <0251>, as well as unto you, and [until] they also <01571> possess <03423> the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> your God <0430> hath given <05414> them beyond <05676> Jordan <03383>: and [then] shall ye return <07725> every man <0376> unto his possession <03425>, which <0834> I have given <05414> you.

21. And I commanded <06680> Joshua <03091> at that time <06256>, saying <0559>, Thine eyes <05869> have seen <07200> all <03605> that the LORD <03068> your God <0430> hath done <06213> unto these <0428> two <08147> kings <04428>: so <03651> shall the LORD <03068> do <06213> unto all <03605> the kingdoms <04467> whither thou passest <05674>.

22 Ye shall not fear <03372> them: for the LORD <03068> your God <0430> he shall fight <03898> for you.

23 And I besought <02603> the LORD <03068> at that time <06256>, saying <0559>,

24 O Lord <0136> GOD <03069>, thou hast begun <02490> to shew <07200> thy servant <05650> thy greatness <01433>, and thy mighty <02389> hand <03027>: for what <04310> God <0410> [is there] in heaven <08064> or in earth <0776>, that can do <06213> according to thy works <04639>, and according to thy might <01369>?

25 I pray <04994> thee, let me go <05674> over <05674>, and see <07200> the good <02896> land <0776> that [is] beyond <05676> Jordan <03383>, that goodly <02896> mountain <02022>, and Lebanon <03844>.

26 But the LORD <03068> was wroth <05674> with me for your sakes <06616>, and would not hear <08085> me: and the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto me, Let it suffice <07227> thee; speak <01696> no <0408> more <05750> unto me of this <02088> matter <01697>.

27 Get <05927> thee up into the top <07218> of Pisgah <06449>, and lift <05375> up thine eyes <05869> westward <03220>, and northward <06828>, and southward <08486>, and eastward <04217>, and behold <07200> [it] with thine eyes <05869>: for thou shalt not go <05674> over <05674> this <02088> Jordan <03383>.

28 But charge <06680> Joshua <03091>, and encourage <02388> him, and strengthen <0553> him: for he shall go <05674> over <05674> before <06440> this <02088> people <05971>, and he shall cause them to inherit <05157> the land <0776> which <0834> thou shalt see <07200>.

29 So we abode <03427> in the valley <01516> over <04136> against <04136> Bethpeor <01047>.

Deuteronomy 4

1. Now <06258> therefore hearken <08085>, O Israel <03478>, unto the statutes <02706> and unto the judgments <04941>, which <0834> I teach <03925> you, for to do <06213> [them], that ye may live <02421>, and go <0935> in and possess <03423> the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> God <0430> of your fathers <01> giveth <05414> you.

2 Ye shall not add <03254> unto the word <01697> which <0834> I command <06680> you, neither <03808> shall ye diminish <01639> [ought] from it, that ye may keep <08104> the commandments <04687> of the LORD <03068> your God <0430> which <0834> I command <06680> you.

3 Your eyes <05869> have seen <07200> what the LORD <03068> did <06213> because of Baalpeor <01187>: for all <03605> the men <0376> that followed Baalpeor <01187>, the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath destroyed <08045> them from among <07130> you.

4 But ye that did cleave <01695> unto the LORD <03068> your God <0430> [are] alive <02416> every <03605> one of you this day <03117>.

5 Behold <07200>, I have taught <03925> you statutes <02706> and judgments <04941>, even as the LORD <03068> my God <0430> commanded <06680> me, that ye should do <06213> so <03651> in the land <0776> whither ye go <0935> to possess <03423> it.

6 Keep <08104> therefore and do <06213> [them]; for this <01931> [is] your wisdom <02451> and your understanding <0998> in the sight <05869> of the nations <05971>, which <0834> shall hear <08085> all <03605> these <0428> statutes <02706>, and say <0559>, Surely this <02088> great <01419> nation <01471> [is] a wise <02450> and understanding <0995> people <05971>.

7 For what <04310> nation <01471> [is there so] great <01419>, who <0834> [hath] God <0430> [so] nigh <07126> unto them, as the LORD <03068> our God <0430> [is] in all <03605> [things that] we call <07121> upon him [for]?

8 And what <04310> nation <01471> [is there so] great <01419>, that hath statutes <02706> and judgments <04941> [so] righteous <06662> as all <03605> this <02063> law <08451>, which <0834> I set <05414> before <06440> you this day <03117>?

9 Only <07535> take heed <08104> to thyself, and keep <08104> thy soul <05315> diligently <03966>, lest <06435> thou forget <07911> the things <01697> which <0834> thine eyes <05869> have seen <07200>, and lest <06435> they depart <05493> from thy heart <03824> all <03605> the days <03117> of thy life <02416>: but teach <03045> them thy sons <01121>, and thy sons <01121>' sons <01121>;

10 [Specially] the day <03117> that thou stoodest <05975> before <06440> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> in Horeb <02722>, when the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto me, Gather <06950> me the people <05971> together, and I will make them hear <08085> my words <01697>, that they may learn <03925> to fear <03372> me all <03605> the days <03117> that they shall live <02416> upon the earth <0127>, and [that] they may teach <03925> their children <01121>.

11 And ye came <07126> near <07126> and stood <05975> under <08478> the mountain <02022>; and the mountain <02022> burned <01197> with fire <0784> unto the midst <03820> of heaven <08064>, with darkness <06205>, clouds <06051>, and thick darkness <06205>.

12 And the LORD <03068> spake <01696> unto you out of the midst <08432> of the fire <0784>: ye heard <08085> the voice <06963> of the words <01697>, but saw <07200> no <0369> similitude <08544>; only <02108> [ye heard <08085>] a voice <06963>.

13 And he declared <05046> unto you his covenant <01285>, which <0834> he commanded <06680> you to perform <06213>, [even] ten <06235> commandments <01697>; and he wrote <03789> them upon two <08147> tables <03871> of stone <068>.

14 And the LORD <03068> commanded <06680> me at that time <06256> to teach <03925> you statutes <02706> and judgments <04941>, that ye might do <06213> them in the land <0776> whither ye go <05674> over <05674> to possess <03423> it.

15 Take ye therefore good <03966> heed <08104> unto yourselves <05315>; for ye saw <07200> no <03808> manner of similitude <08544> on the day <03117> [that] the LORD <03068> spake <01696> unto you in Horeb <02722> out of the midst <08432> of the fire <0784>:

16 Lest <06435> ye corrupt <07843> [yourselves], and make <06213> you a graven <06459> image, the similitude <08544> of any <03605> figure <05566>, the likeness <08403> of male <02145> or <0176> female <05347>,

17 The likeness <08403> of any <03605> beast <0929> that [is] on the earth <0776>, the likeness <08403> of any <03605> winged <03671> fowl <06833> that flieth <05774> in the air <08064>,

18 The likeness <08403> of any <03605> thing that creepeth <07430> on the ground <0127>, the likeness <08403> of any <03605> fish <01710> that [is] in the waters <04325> beneath <08478> the earth <0776>:

19 And lest <06435> thou lift <05375> up thine eyes <05869> unto heaven <08064>, and when thou seest <07200> the sun <08121>, and the moon <03394>, and the stars <03556>, [even] all <03605> the host <06635> of heaven <08064>, shouldest be driven <05080> to worship <07812> them, and serve <05647> them, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath divided <02505> unto all <03605> nations <05971> under <08478> the whole <03605> heaven <08064>.

20 But the LORD <03068> hath taken <03947> you, and brought <03318> you forth <03318> out of the iron <01270> furnace <03564>, [even] out of Egypt <04714>, to be unto him a people <05971> of inheritance <05159>, as [ye are] this <02088> day <03117>.

21 Furthermore the LORD <03068> was angry <0599> with me for your sakes <01697>, and sware <07650> that I should not go <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383>, and that I should not go <0935> in unto that good <02896> land <0776>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee [for] an inheritance <05159>:

22 But I must die <04191> in this <02088> land <0776>, I must not go <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383>: but ye shall go <05674> over <05674>, and possess <03423> that good <02896> land <0776>.

23 Take heed <08104> unto yourselves, lest <06435> ye forget <07911> the covenant <01285> of the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, which <0834> he made with you, and make <06213> you a graven <06459> image, [or] the likeness <08544> of any <03605> [thing], which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath forbidden <06680> thee.

24 For the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> [is] a consuming <0398> fire <0784>, [even] a jealous <07067> God <0410>.

25 When <03588> thou shalt beget <03205> children <01121>, and children's <01121> children <01121>, and ye shall have remained <03462> long in the land <0776>, and shall corrupt <07843> [yourselves], and make <06213> a graven <06459> image, [or] the likeness <08544> of any <03605> [thing], and shall do <06213> evil <07451> in the sight <05869> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to provoke him to anger <03707>:

26 I call <05749> heaven <08064> and earth <0776> to witness <05749> against you this day <03117>, that ye shall soon <04116> utterly perish <06> from off <05921> the land <0776> whereunto <0834> ye go <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383> to possess <03423> it; ye shall not prolong <0748> [your] days <03117> upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed <08045>.

27 And the LORD <03068> shall scatter <06327> you among the nations <05971>, and ye shall be left <07604> few <04962> in number <04557> among the heathen <01471>, whither the LORD <03068> shall lead <05090> you.

28 And there <08033> ye shall serve <05647> gods <0430>, the work <04639> of men's <0120> hands <03027>, wood <06086> and stone <068>, which <0834> neither <03808> see <07200>, nor <03808> hear <08085>, nor <03808> eat <0398>, nor <03808> smell <07306>.

29 But if from thence <08033> thou shalt seek <01245> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, thou shalt find <04672> [him], if <03588> thou seek <01875> him with all <03605> thy heart <03824> and with all <03605> thy soul <05315>.

30 When thou art in tribulation <06862>, and all <03605> these <0428> things <01697> are come <04672> upon thee, [even] in the latter <0319> days <03117>, if thou turn <07725> to the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and shalt be obedient <08085> unto his voice <06963>;

31 (For the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> [is] a merciful <07349> God <0410>;) he will not forsake <07503> thee, neither <03808> destroy <07843> thee, nor <03808> forget <07911> the covenant <01285> of thy fathers <01> which <0834> he sware <07650> unto them.

32 For ask <07592> now <04994> of the days <03117> that are past <07223>, which <0834> were before <06440> thee, since <04480> the day <03117> that God <0430> created <01254> man <0120> upon the earth <0776>, and [ask] from the one side <07097> of heaven <08064> unto the other, whether there hath been <01961> [any such thing <01697>] as this <02088> great <01419> thing <01697> [is], or <0176> hath been heard <08085> like <03644> it?

33 Did [ever] people <05971> hear <08085> the voice <06963> of God <0430> speaking <01696> out of the midst <08432> of the fire <0784>, as thou hast heard <08085>, and live <02421>?

34 Or <0176> hath God <0430> assayed <05254> to go <0935> [and] take <03947> him a nation <01471> from the midst <07130> of [another] nation <01471>, by temptations <04531>, by signs <0226>, and by wonders <04159>, and by war <04421>, and by a mighty <02389> hand <03027>, and by a stretched <05186> out arm <02220>, and by great <01419> terrors <04172>, according to all <03605> that the LORD <03068> your God <0430> did <06213> for you in Egypt <04714> before your eyes <05869>?

35 Unto thee it was shewed <07200>, that thou mightest know <03045> that the LORD <03068> he [is] God <0430>; [there is] none <0369> else <05750> beside <0905> him.

36 Out of heaven <08064> he made thee to hear <08085> his voice <06963>, that he might instruct <03256> thee: and upon earth <0776> he shewed <07200> thee his great <01419> fire <0784>; and thou heardest <08085> his words <01697> out of the midst <08432> of the fire <0784>.

37 And because he loved <0157> thy fathers <01>, therefore he chose <0977> their seed <02233> after <0310> them, and brought <03318> thee out in his sight <06440> with his mighty <01419> power <03581> out of Egypt <04714>;

38 To drive <03423> out nations <01471> from before <06440> thee greater <01419> and mightier <06099> than thou [art], to bring <0935> thee in, to give <05414> thee their land <0776> [for] an inheritance <05159>, as [it is] this <02088> day <03117>.

39 Know <03045> therefore <03767> this day <03117>, and consider <07725> [it] in thine heart <03824>, that the LORD <03068> he [is] God <0430> in heaven <08064> above <04605>, and upon the earth <0776> beneath <08478>: [there is] none <0369> else <05750>.

40 Thou shalt keep <08104> therefore his statutes <02706>, and his commandments <04687>, which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>, that it may go well <03190> with thee, and with thy children <01121> after <0310> thee, and that thou mayest prolong <0748> [thy] days <03117> upon the earth <0127>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee, for ever.

41. Then <0227> Moses <04872> severed <0914> three <07969> cities <05892> on this side <05676> Jordan <03383> toward the sunrising;

42 That the slayer <07523> might flee <05127> thither <08033>, which <0834> should kill <07523> his neighbour <07453> unawares, and hated <08130> him not in times <08543> past <08032>; and that fleeing <05127> unto one <0259> of these <0411> cities <05892> he might live <02425>:

43 [Namely], Bezer <01221> in the wilderness <04057>, in the plain <04334> country <0776>, of the Reubenites <07206>; and Ramoth <07216> in Gilead <01568>, of the Gadites <01425>; and Golan <01474> in Bashan <01316>, of the Manassites <04520>.

44 And this <02063> [is] the law <08451> which <0834> Moses <04872> set <07760> before <06440> the children <01121> of Israel <03478>:

45 These <0428> [are] the testimonies <05713>, and the statutes <02706>, and the judgments <04941>, which <0834> Moses <04872> spake <01696> unto the children <01121> of Israel <03478>, after they came <03318> forth <03318> out of Egypt <04714>,

46 On this side <05676> Jordan <03383>, in the valley <01516> over <04136> against <04136> Bethpeor <01047>, in the land <0776> of Sihon <05511> king <04428> of the Amorites <0567>, who <0834> dwelt <03427> at Heshbon <02809>, whom <0834> Moses <04872> and the children <01121> of Israel <03478> smote <05221>, after they were come <03318> forth <03318> out of Egypt <04714>:

47 And they possessed <03423> his land <0776>, and the land <0776> of Og <05747> king <04428> of Bashan <01316>, two <08147> kings <04428> of the Amorites <0567>, which <0834> [were] on this side <05676> Jordan <03383> toward the sunrising;

48 From Aroer <06177>, which <0834> [is] by the bank <08193> of the river <05158> Arnon <0769>, even unto mount <02022> Sion <07865>, which <0834> [is] Hermon <02768>,

49 And all <03605> the plain <06160> on this side <05676> Jordan <03383> eastward <04217>, even unto the sea <03220> of the plain <06160>, under <08478> the springs <0794> of Pisgah <06449>.

Deuteronomy 5

1. And Moses <04872> called <07121> all <03605> Israel <03478>, and said <0559> unto them, Hear <08085>, O Israel <03478>, the statutes <02706> and judgments <04941> which <0834> I speak <01696> in your ears <0241> this day <03117>, that ye may learn <03925> them, and keep <08104>, and do <06213> them.

2 The LORD <03068> our God <0430> made <03772> a covenant <01285> with us in Horeb <02722>.

3 The LORD <03068> made <03772> not this <02063> covenant <01285> with our fathers <01>, but with us, [even] us, who <0428> [are] all <03605> of us here <06311> alive <02416> this day <03117>.

4 The LORD <03068> talked <01696> with you face <06440> to face <06440> in the mount <02022> out of the midst <08432> of the fire <0784>,

5 (I stood <05975> between <0996> the LORD <03068> and you at that time <06256>, to shew <05046> you the word <01697> of the LORD <03068>: for ye were afraid <03372> by reason <06440> of the fire <0784>, and went <05927> not up into the mount <02022>;) saying <0559>,

6. I [am] the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, which <0834> brought <03318> thee out of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>, from the house <01004> of bondage <05650>.

7 Thou shalt have <01961> none other <0312> gods <0430> before me.

8 Thou shalt not make <06213> thee [any <03605>] graven <06459> image, [or] any <03605> likeness <08544> [of any <03605> thing] that [is] in heaven <08064> above <04605>, or that [is] in the earth <0776> beneath <08478>, or that [is] in the waters <04325> beneath <08478> the earth <0776>:

9 Thou shalt not bow <07812> down <07812> thyself unto them, nor <03808> serve <05647> them: for I the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> [am] a jealous <07067> God <0410>, visiting <06485> the iniquity <05771> of the fathers <01> upon the children <01121> unto the third <08029> and fourth <07256> [generation] of them that hate <08130> me,

10 And shewing <06213> mercy <02617> unto thousands <0505> of them that love <0157> me and keep <08104> my commandments <04687>.

11 Thou shalt not take <05375> the name <08034> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> in vain <07723>: for the LORD <03068> will not hold [him] guiltless <05352> that taketh <05375> his name <08034> in vain <07723>.

12 Keep <08104> the sabbath <07676> day <03117> to sanctify <06942> it, as the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath commanded <06680> thee.

13 Six <08337> days <03117> thou shalt labour <05647>, and do <06213> all <03605> thy work <04399>:

14 But the seventh <07637> day <03117> [is] the sabbath <07676> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>: [in it] thou shalt not do <06213> any <03605> work <04399>, thou, nor thy son <01121>, nor thy daughter <01323>, nor thy manservant <05650>, nor thy maidservant <0519>, nor thine ox <07794>, nor thine ass <02543>, nor any <03605> of thy cattle <0929>, nor thy stranger <01616> that [is] within thy gates <08179>; that thy manservant <05650> and thy maidservant <0519> may rest <05117> as well as thou.

15 And remember <02142> that thou wast <01961> a servant <05650> in the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>, and [that] the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> brought <03318> thee out thence <08033> through a mighty <02389> hand <03027> and by a stretched <05186> out arm <02220>: therefore the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> commanded <06680> thee to keep <06213> the sabbath <07676> day <03117>.

16 Honour <03513> thy father <01> and thy mother <0517>, as the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath commanded <06680> thee; that thy days <03117> may be prolonged <0748>, and that it may go well <03190> with thee, in the land <0127> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee.

17 Thou shalt not kill <07523>.

18 Neither <03808> shalt thou commit <05003> adultery <05003>.

19 Neither <03808> shalt thou steal <01589>.

20 Neither <03808> shalt thou bear <06030> false <07723> witness <05707> against thy neighbour <07453>.

21 Neither <03808> shalt thou desire <02530> thy neighbour's <07453> wife <0802>, neither <03808> shalt thou covet <0185> thy neighbour's <07453> house <01004>, his field <07704>, or his manservant <05650>, or his maidservant <0519>, his ox <07794>, or his ass <02543>, or any <03605> [thing] that [is] thy neighbour's <07453>.

22 These <0428> words <01697> the LORD <03068> spake <01696> unto all <03605> your assembly <06951> in the mount <02022> out of the midst <08432> of the fire <0784>, of the cloud <06051>, and of the thick darkness <06205>, with a great <01419> voice <06963>: and he added <03254> no <03808> more <03254>. And he wrote <03789> them in two <08147> tables <03871> of stone <068>, and delivered <05414> them unto me.

23. And it came <01961> to pass, when ye heard <08085> the voice <06963> out of the midst <08432> of the darkness <02822>, (for the mountain <02022> did burn <01197> with fire <0784>,) that ye came <07126> near <07126> unto me, [even] all <03605> the heads <07218> of your tribes <07626>, and your elders <02205>;

24 And ye said <0559>, Behold <02005>, the LORD <03068> our God <0430> hath shewed <07200> us his glory <03519> and his greatness <01433>, and we have heard <08085> his voice <06963> out of the midst <08432> of the fire <0784>: we have seen <07200> this <02088> day <03117> that God <0430> doth talk <01696> with man <0120>, and he liveth <02425>.

25 Now <06258> therefore why <04100> should we die <04191>? for this <02063> great <01419> fire <0784> will consume <0398> us: if <0518> we hear <08085> the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> our God <0430> any more <03254>, then we shall die <04191>.

26 For who <04310> [is there of] all <03605> flesh <01320>, that hath heard <08085> the voice <06963> of the living <02416> God <0430> speaking <01696> out of the midst <08432> of the fire <0784>, as we [have], and lived <02421>?

27 Go <07126> thou near <07126>, and hear <08085> all <03605> that the LORD <03068> our God <0430> shall say <0559>: and speak <01696> thou unto us all <03605> that the LORD <03068> our God <0430> shall speak <01696> unto thee; and we will hear <08085> [it], and do <06213> [it].

28 And the LORD <03068> heard <08085> the voice <06963> of your words <01697>, when ye spake <01696> unto me; and the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto me, I have heard <08085> the voice <06963> of the words <01697> of this <02088> people <05971>, which <0834> they have spoken <01696> unto thee: they have well <03190> said all <03605> that they have spoken <01696>.

29 O that there were such <02888> an heart <03824> in them, that they would fear <03372> me, and keep <08104> all <03605> my commandments <04687> always, that it might be well <03190> with them, and with their children <01121> for ever <05769>!

30 Go <03212> say <0559> to them, Get <07725> you into your tents <0168> again <07725>.

31 But as for thee, stand <05975> thou here <06311> by me, and I will speak <01696> unto thee all <03605> the commandments <04687>, and the statutes <02706>, and the judgments <04941>, which <0834> thou shalt teach <03925> them, that they may do <06213> [them] in the land <0776> which <0834> I give <05414> them to possess <03423> it.

32 Ye shall observe <08104> to do <06213> therefore as the LORD <03068> your God <0430> hath commanded <06680> you: ye shall not turn <05493> aside to the right <03225> hand <03225> or to the left <08040>.

33 Ye shall walk <03212> in all <03605> the ways <01870> which <0834> the LORD <03068> your God <0430> hath commanded <06680> you, that ye may live <02421>, and [that it may be] well <02895> with you, and [that] ye may prolong <0748> [your] days <03117> in the land <0776> which <0834> ye shall possess <03423>.

Deuteronomy 6

1. Now these <02063> [are] the commandments <04687>, the statutes <02706>, and the judgments <04941>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> your God <0430> commanded <06680> to teach <03925> you, that ye might do <06213> [them] in the land <0776> whither ye go <05674> to possess <03423> it:

2 That thou mightest fear <03372> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to keep <08104> all <03605> his statutes <02708> and his commandments <04687>, which <0834> I command <06680> thee, thou, and thy son <01121>, and thy son's <01121> son <01121>, all <03605> the days <03117> of thy life <02416>; and that thy days <03117> may be prolonged <0748>.

3 Hear <08085> therefore, O Israel <03478>, and observe <08104> to do <06213> [it]; that it may be well <03190> with thee, and that ye may increase <07235> mightily <03966>, as the LORD <03068> God <0430> of thy fathers <01> hath promised <01696> thee, in the land <0776> that floweth <02100> with milk <02461> and honey <01706>.

4. Hear <08085>, O Israel <03478>: The LORD <03068> our God <0430> [is] one <0259> LORD <03068>:

5 And thou shalt love <0157> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> with all <03605> thine heart <03824>, and with all <03605> thy soul <05315>, and with all <03605> thy might <03966>.

6 And these words <01697>, which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>, shall be in thine heart <03824>:

8 And thou shalt bind <07194> them for a sign <0226> upon thine hand <03027>, and they shall be as frontlets <02903> between <0996> thine eyes <05869>.

9 And thou shalt write <03789> them upon the posts <04201> of thy house <01004>, and on thy gates <08179>.

10 And it shall be, when <03588> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall have brought <0935> thee into <0413> the land <0776> which <0834> he sware <07650> unto thy fathers <01>, to Abraham <085>, to Isaac <03327>, and to Jacob <03290>, to give <05414> thee great <01419> and goodly <02896> cities <05892>, which <0834> thou buildedst <01129> not,

11 And houses <01004> full <04392> of all <03605> good <02898> [things], which <0834> thou filledst <04390> not, and wells <0953> digged <02672>, which <0834> thou diggedst <02672> not, vineyards <03754> and olive <02132> trees, which <0834> thou plantedst <05193> not; when thou shalt have eaten <0398> and be full <07646>;

12 [Then] beware <08104> lest <06435> thou forget <07911> the LORD <03068>, which <0834> brought <03318> thee forth <03318> out of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>, from the house <01004> of bondage <05650>.

13 Thou shalt fear <03372> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and serve <05647> him, and shalt swear <07650> by his name <08034>.

14 Ye shall not go <03212> after <0310> other <0312> gods <0430>, of the gods <0430> of the people <05971> which <0834> [are] round <05439> about you;

15 (For the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> [is] a jealous <07067> God <0410> among <07130> you) lest <06435> the anger <0639> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> be kindled <02734> against thee, and destroy <08045> thee from off <05921> the face <06440> of the earth <0127>.

16 Ye shall not tempt <05254> the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, as ye tempted <05254> [him] in Massah <04532>.

17. Ye shall diligently keep <08104> the commandments <04687> of the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, and his testimonies <05713>, and his statutes <02706>, which <0834> he hath commanded <06680> thee.

18 And thou shalt do <06213> [that which <0834> is] right <03477> and good <02896> in the sight <05869> of the LORD <03068>: that it may be well <03190> with thee, and that thou mayest go <0935> in and possess <03423> the good <02896> land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> sware <07650> unto thy fathers <01>,

19 To cast <01920> out all <03605> thine enemies <0341> from before <06440> thee, as the LORD <03068> hath spoken <01696>.

20 [And] when <03588> thy son <01121> asketh <07592> thee in time <04279> to come <04279>, saying <0559>, What <04100> [mean] the testimonies <05713>, and the statutes <02706>, and the judgments <04941>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> our God <0430> hath commanded <06680> you?

21 Then thou shalt say <0559> unto thy son <01121>, We were Pharaoh's <06547> bondmen <05650> in Egypt <04714>; and the LORD <03068> brought <03318> us out of Egypt <04714> with a mighty <02389> hand <03027>:

22 And the LORD <03068> shewed <05414> signs <0226> and wonders <04159>, great <01419> and sore <07451>, upon Egypt <04714>, upon Pharaoh <06547>, and upon all <03605> his household <01004>, before our eyes <05869>:

23 And he brought <03318> us out from thence <08033>, that he might bring <0935> us in, to give <05414> us the land <0776> which <0834> he sware <07650> unto our fathers <01>.

24 And the LORD <03068> commanded <06680> us to do <06213> all <03605> these <0428> statutes <02706>, to fear <03372> the LORD <03068> our God <0430>, for our good <02896> always, that he might preserve <02421> us alive <02421>, as [it is] at this <02088> day <03117>.

25 And it shall be our righteousness <06666>, if <03588> we observe <08104> to do <06213> all <03605> these <02063> commandments <04687> before <06440> the LORD <03068> our God <0430>, as he hath commanded <06680> us.

Deuteronomy 7

1. When <03588> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall bring <0935> thee into <0413> the land <0776> whither thou goest <0935> to possess <03423> it, and hath cast <05390> out many <07227> nations <01471> before <06440> thee, the Hittites <02850>, and the Girgashites <01622>, and the Amorites <0567>, and the Canaanites <03669>, and the Perizzites <06522>, and the Hivites <02340>, and the Jebusites <02983>, seven <07651> nations <01471> greater <07227> and mightier <06099> than thou;

2 And when the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall deliver <05414> them before <06440> thee; thou shalt smite <05221> them, [and] utterly destroy <02763> them; thou shalt make <03772> no <03808> covenant <01285> with them, nor <03808> shew mercy <02603> unto them:

3 Neither <03808> shalt thou make marriages <02859> with them; thy daughter <01323> thou shalt not give <05414> unto his son <01121>, nor <03808> his daughter <01323> shalt thou take <03947> unto thy son <01121>.

4 For they will turn <05493> away thy son <01121> from following <0310> me, that they may serve <05647> other <0312> gods <0430>: so will the anger <0639> of the LORD <03068> be kindled <02734> against you, and destroy <08045> thee suddenly <04118>.

5 But thus <03541> shall ye deal <06213> with them; ye shall destroy <05422> their altars <04196>, and break <07665> down their images <04676>, and cut <01438> down their groves <0842>, and burn <08313> their graven <06456> images with fire <0784>.

6 For thou [art] an holy <06918> people <05971> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>: the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath chosen <0977> thee to be a special <05459> people <05971> unto himself, above all <03605> people <05971> that [are] upon the face <06440> of the earth <0127>.

7 The LORD <03068> did <06213> not set his love <02836> upon you, nor <03808> choose <0977> you, because ye were more <07230> in number than any <03605> people <05971>; for ye [were] the fewest <04592> of all <03605> people <05971>:

8 But because <03588> the LORD <03068> loved <0160> you, and because he would keep <08104> the oath <07621> which <0834> he had sworn <07650> unto your fathers <01>, hath the LORD <03068> brought <03318> you out with a mighty <02389> hand <03027>, and redeemed <06299> you out of the house <01004> of bondmen <05650>, from the hand <03027> of Pharaoh <06547> king <04428> of Egypt <04714>.

9 Know <03045> therefore that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, he [is] God <0430>, the faithful <0539> God <0410>, which <0834> keepeth <08104> covenant <01285> and mercy <02617> with them that love <0157> him and keep <08104> his commandments <04687> to a thousand <0505> generations <01755>;

10 And repayeth <07999> them that hate <08130> him to their face <06440>, to destroy <06> them: he will not be slack <0309> to him that hateth <08130> him, he will repay <07999> him to his face <06440>.

11 Thou shalt therefore keep <08104> the commandments <04687>, and the statutes <02706>, and the judgments <04941>, which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>, to do <06213> them.

12. Wherefore it shall come <01961> to pass, if <06112> ye hearken <08085> to these <0428> judgments <04941>, and keep <08104>, and do <06213> them, that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall keep <08104> unto thee the covenant <01285> and the mercy <02617> which <0834> he sware <07650> unto thy fathers <01>:

13 And he will love <0157> thee, and bless <01288> thee, and multiply <07235> thee: he will also bless <01288> the fruit <06529> of thy womb <0990>, and the fruit <06529> of thy land <0127>, thy corn <01715>, and thy wine <08492>, and thine oil <03323>, the increase <07698> of thy kine <0504>, and the flocks <06251> of thy sheep <06629>, in the land <0127> which <0834> he sware <07650> unto thy fathers <01> to give <05414> thee.

14 Thou shalt be blessed <01288> above all <03605> people <05971>: there shall not be male or female <05347> barren <06135> among you, or among your cattle <0929>.

15 And the LORD <03068> will take <05493> away from thee all <03605> sickness <02483>, and will put <07760> none <03808> of the evil <07451> diseases <04064> of Egypt <04714>, which <0834> thou knowest <03045>, upon thee; but will lay <05414> them upon all <03605> [them] that hate <08130> thee.

16 And thou shalt consume <0398> all <03605> the people <05971> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall deliver <05414> thee; thine eye <05869> shall have no <03808> pity <02347> upon them: neither <03808> shalt thou serve <05647> their gods <0430>; for that [will be] a snare <04170> unto thee.

17 If <03588> thou shalt say <0559> in thine heart <03824>, These <0428> nations <01471> [are] more <07227> than I; how <0349> can <03201> I dispossess <03423> them?

18 Thou shalt not be afraid <03372> of them: [but] shalt well remember <02142> what the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> did <06213> unto Pharaoh <06547>, and unto all <03605> Egypt <04714>;

19 The great <01419> temptations <04531> which <0834> thine eyes <05869> saw <07200>, and the signs <0226>, and the wonders <04159>, and the mighty <02389> hand <03027>, and the stretched <05186> out arm <02220>, whereby <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> brought <03318> thee out: so <03651> shall the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> do <06213> unto all <03605> the people <05971> of whom thou art afraid <03372>.

20 Moreover <01571> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> will send <07971> the hornet <06880> among them, until <05704> they that are left <07604>, and hide <05641> themselves from thee, be destroyed <06>.

21 Thou shalt not be affrighted <06206> at <06440> them: for the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> [is] among <07130> you, a mighty <01419> God <0410> and terrible <03372>.

22 And the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> will put <05394> out those <0411> nations <01471> before <06440> thee by little <04592> and little <04592>: thou mayest <03201> not consume <03615> them at <04118> once <04118>, lest <06435> the beasts <02416> of the field <07704> increase <07235> upon thee.

23 But the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall deliver <05414> them unto thee, and shall destroy <02000> them with a mighty <01419> destruction <04103>, until <05704> they be destroyed <08045>.

24 And he shall deliver <05414> their kings <04428> into thine hand <03027>, and thou shalt destroy <06> their name <08034> from under <08478> heaven <08064>: there shall no <03808> man <0375> be able <03320> to stand <03320> before <06440> thee, until <05704> thou have destroyed <08045> them.

25 The graven <06456> images of their gods <0430> shall ye burn <08313> with fire <0784>: thou shalt not desire <02530> the silver <03701> or gold <02091> [that is] on <05921> them, nor take <03947> [it] unto thee, lest <06435> thou be snared <03369> therein: for it [is] an abomination <08441> to the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

26 Neither <03808> shalt thou bring <0935> an abomination <08441> into <0413> thine house <01004>, lest thou be a cursed <02764> thing like <03644> it: [but] thou shalt utterly detest <08262> it, and thou shalt utterly abhor <08581> it; for it [is] a cursed <02764> thing.

Deuteronomy 8

1. All <03605> the commandments <04687> which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117> shall ye observe <08104> to do <06213>, that ye may live <02421>, and multiply <07235>, and go <0935> in and possess <03423> the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> sware <07650> unto your fathers <01>.

2 And thou shalt remember <02142> all <03605> the way <01870> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> led <03212> thee these <02088> forty <0705> years <08141> in the wilderness <04057>, to humble <06031> thee, [and] to prove <05254> thee, to know <03045> what [was] in thine heart <03824>, whether thou wouldest keep <08104> his commandments <04687>, or no <03808>.

3 And he humbled <06031> thee, and suffered thee to hunger <07456>, and fed <0398> thee with manna <04478>, which <0834> thou knewest <03045> not, neither <03808> did thy fathers <01> know <03045>; that he might make thee know <03045> that man <0120> doth not live <02421> by bread <03899> only <0905>, but by every <03605> [word] that proceedeth <04161> out of the mouth <06310> of the LORD <03068> doth man <0120> live <02421>.

4 Thy raiment <08071> waxed not old <01086> upon thee, neither <03808> did thy foot <07272> swell <01216>, these <02088> forty <0705> years <08141>.

5 Thou shalt also consider <03045> in thine heart <03824>, that, as a man <0376> chasteneth <03256> his son <01121>, [so] the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> chasteneth <03256> thee.

6 Therefore thou shalt keep <08104> the commandments <04687> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to walk <03212> in his ways <01870>, and to fear <03372> him.

7 For the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> bringeth <0935> thee into <0413> a good <02896> land <0776>, a land <0776> of brooks <05158> of water <04325>, of fountains <05869> and depths <08415> that spring <03318> out of valleys <01237> and hills <02022>;

8 A land <0776> of wheat <02406>, and barley <08184>, and vines <01612>, and fig <08384> trees, and pomegranates <07416>; a land <0776> of oil <08081> olive <02132>, and honey <01706>;

9 A land <0776> wherein <0834> thou shalt eat <0398> bread <03899> without <03808> scarceness <04544>, thou shalt not lack <02637> any <03605> [thing] in it; a land <0776> whose <0834> stones <068> [are] iron <01270>, and out of whose hills <02042> thou mayest dig <02672> brass <05178>.

10. When thou hast eaten <0398> and art full <07646>, then thou shalt bless <01288> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> for the good <02896> land <0776> which <0834> he hath given <05414> thee.

11 Beware <08104> that thou forget <07911> not the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, in not keeping <08104> his commandments <04687>, and his judgments <04941>, and his statutes <02708>, which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>:

12 Lest <06435> [when] thou hast eaten <0398> and art full <07646>, and hast built <01129> goodly <02896> houses <01004>, and dwelt <03427> [therein];

13 And [when] thy herds <01241> and thy flocks <06629> multiply <07235>, and thy silver <03701> and thy gold <02091> is multiplied <07235>, and all <03605> that thou hast is multiplied <07235>;

14 Then thine heart <03824> be lifted <07311> up, and thou forget <07911> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, which brought <03318> thee forth <04161> out of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>, from the house <01004> of bondage <05650>;

15 Who led <03212> thee through that great <01419> and terrible <03372> wilderness <04057>, [wherein were] fiery <08314> serpents <05175>, and scorpions <06137>, and drought <06774>, where <0834> [there was] no <0369> water <04325>; who brought <03318> thee forth <04161> water <04325> out of the rock <06697> of flint <02496>;

16 Who fed <0398> thee in the wilderness <04057> with manna <04478>, which <0834> thy fathers <01> knew <03045> not, that he might humble <06031> thee, and that he might prove <05254> thee, to do thee good <03190> at thy latter <0319> end;

17 And thou say <0559> in thine heart <03824>, My power <03581> and the might <06108> of [mine] hand <03027> hath gotten <06213> me this <02088> wealth <02428>.

18 But thou shalt remember <02142> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>: for [it is] he that giveth <05414> thee power <03581> to get <06213> wealth <02428>, that he may establish <06965> his covenant <01285> which <0834> he sware <07650> unto thy fathers <01>, as [it is] this <02088> day <03117>.

19 And it shall be, if <0518> thou do at all forget <07911> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and walk <01980> after <0310> other <0312> gods <0430>, and serve <05647> them, and worship <07812> them, I testify <05749> against you this day <03117> that ye shall surely <03588> perish <06>.

20 As the nations <01471> which <0834> the LORD <03068> destroyeth <06> before your face, so <03651> shall ye perish <06>; because <06118> ye would not be obedient <08085> unto the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> your God <0430>.

Deuteronomy 9

1. Hear <08085>, O Israel <03478>: Thou [art] to pass <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383> this day <03117>, to go <0935> in to possess <03423> nations <01471> greater <01419> and mightier <06099> than thyself, cities <05892> great <01419> and fenced <01219> up to heaven <08064>,

2 A people <05971> great <01419> and tall <07311>, the children <01121> of the Anakims <06062>, whom <0834> thou knowest <03045>, and [of whom <0834>] thou hast heard <08085> [say], Who <04310> can stand <03320> before <06440> the children <01121> of Anak <06061>!

3 Understand <03045> therefore this day <03117>, that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> [is] he which goeth <05674> over <05674> before <06440> thee; [as] a consuming <0398> fire <0784> he shall destroy <08045> them, and he shall bring <03665> them down <03665> before thy face: so shalt thou drive <03423> them out, and destroy <06> them quickly <04118>, as the LORD <03068> hath said <01696> unto thee.

4 Speak <0559> not thou in thine heart <03824>, after that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath cast <01920> them out from before <06440> thee, saying <0559>, For my righteousness <06666> the LORD <03068> hath brought <0935> me in to possess <03423> this <02088> land <0776>: but for the wickedness <07564> of these <0428> nations <01471> the LORD <03068> doth drive <03423> them out from before <06440> thee.

5 Not for thy righteousness <06666>, or for the uprightness <03476> of thine heart <03824>, dost thou go <0935> to possess <03423> their land <0776>: but for the wickedness <07564> of these <0428> nations <01471> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> doth drive <03423> them out from before <06440> thee, and that he may perform <06965> the word <01697> which <0834> the LORD <03068> sware <07650> unto thy fathers <01>, Abraham <085>, Isaac <03327>, and Jacob <03290>.

6 Understand <03045> therefore, that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee not this <02063> good <02896> land <0776> to possess <03423> it for thy righteousness <06666>; for thou [art] a stiffnecked people <05971>.

7. Remember <02142>, [and] forget <07911> not, how <0834> thou provokedst the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> to wrath <07107> in the wilderness <04057>: from the day <03117> that thou didst depart <03318> out of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>, until <05704> ye came <0935> unto this <02088> place <04725>, ye have been <01961> rebellious <04784> against <05973> the LORD <03068>.

8 Also in Horeb <02722> ye provoked the LORD <03068> to wrath <07107>, so that the LORD <03068> was angry <0599> with you to have destroyed <08045> you.

9 When I was gone <05927> up into the mount <02022> to receive <03947> the tables <03871> of stone <068>, [even] the tables <03871> of the covenant <01285> which <0834> the LORD <03068> made <03772> with you, then I abode <03427> in the mount <02022> forty <0705> days <03117> and forty <0705> nights <03915>, I neither <03808> did eat <0398> bread <03899> nor <03808> drink <08354> water <04325>:

10 And the LORD <03068> delivered <05414> unto me two <08147> tables <03871> of stone <068> written <03789> with the finger <0676> of God <0430>; and on <05921> them [was written] according to all <03605> the words <01697>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> spake <01696> with you in the mount <02022> out of the midst <08432> of the fire <0784> in the day <03117> of the assembly <06951>.

11 And it came <01961> to pass at the end <07093> of forty <0705> days <03117> and forty <0705> nights <03915>, [that] the LORD <03068> gave <05414> me the two <08147> tables <03871> of stone <068>, [even] the tables <03871> of the covenant <01285>.

12 And the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto me, Arise <06965>, get <03381> thee down <03381> quickly <04118> from hence <02088>; for thy people <05971> which <0834> thou hast brought <03318> forth <03318> out of Egypt <04714> have corrupted <07843> [themselves]; they are quickly <04118> turned <05493> aside out of the way <01870> which <0834> I commanded <06680> them; they have made <06213> them a molten <04541> image.

13 Furthermore the LORD <03068> spake <0559> unto me, saying <0559>, I have seen <07200> this <02088> people <05971>, and, behold <02009>, it [is] a stiffnecked people <05971>:

14 Let me alone <07503>, that I may destroy <08045> them, and blot <04229> out their name <08034> from under <08478> heaven <08064>: and I will make <06213> of thee a nation <01471> mightier <06099> and greater <07227> than they.

15 So I turned <06437> and came <03381> down <03381> from the mount <02022>, and the mount <02022> burned <01197> with fire <0784>: and the two <08147> tables <03871> of the covenant <01285> [were] in my two <08147> hands <03027>.

16 And I looked <07200>, and, behold <02009>, ye had sinned <02398> against the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, [and] had made <06213> you a molten <04541> calf <05695>: ye had turned <05493> aside quickly <04118> out of the way <01870> which <0834> the LORD <03068> had commanded <06680> you.

17 And I took <08610> the two <08147> tables <03871>, and cast <07993> them out of my two <08147> hands <03027>, and brake <07665> them before your eyes <05869>.

18 And I fell <05307> down before <06440> the LORD <03068>, as at the first <07223>, forty <0705> days <03117> and forty <0705> nights <03915>: I did neither <03808> eat <0398> bread <03899>, nor <03808> drink <08354> water <04325>, because <03588> of all <03605> your sins <02403> which <0834> ye sinned <02398>, in doing <06213> wickedly <07561> in the sight <05869> of the LORD <03068>, to provoke him to anger <03707>.

19 For I was afraid <03025> of the anger <0639> and hot <02534> displeasure <02534>, wherewith <0834> the LORD <03068> was wroth <07107> against <05921> you to destroy <08045> you. But the LORD <03068> hearkened <08085> unto me at that time <06471> also <01571>.

20 And the LORD <03068> was very <03966> angry <0599> with Aaron <0175> to have destroyed <08045> him: and I prayed <06419> for Aaron <0175> also <01571> the same <01931> time <06256>.

21 And I took <03947> your sin <02403>, the calf <05695> which <0834> ye had <01961> made <06213>, and burnt <08313> it with fire <0784>, and stamped <03807> it, [and] ground <02912> [it] very <03190> small <03190>, [even] until <05704> it was as small <01854> as dust <06083>: and I cast <07993> the dust <06083> thereof into <0413> the brook <05158> that descended <03381> out of the mount <02022>.

22 And at Taberah <08404>, and at Massah <04532>, and at Kibrothhattaavah <06914>, ye provoked the LORD <03068> to wrath <07107>.

23 Likewise when the LORD <03068> sent <07971> you from Kadeshbarnea <06947>, saying <0559>, Go <05927> up and possess <03423> the land <0776> which <0834> I have given <05414> you; then ye rebelled <04784> against the commandment <06310> of the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, and ye believed <0539> him not, nor <03808> hearkened <08085> to his voice <06963>.

24 Ye have been <01961> rebellious <04784> against <05973> the LORD <03068> from the day <03117> that I knew <03045> you.

25 Thus I fell <05307> down before <06440> the LORD <03068> forty <0705> days <03117> and forty <0705> nights <03915>, as I fell <05307> down [at the first]; because <03588> the LORD <03068> had <01961> said <0559> he would destroy <08045> you.

26 I prayed <06419> therefore unto the LORD <03068>, and said <0559>, O Lord <0136> GOD <03069>, destroy <07843> not thy people <05971> and thine inheritance <05159>, which <0834> thou hast redeemed <06299> through thy greatness <01433>, which <0834> thou hast brought <03318> forth <03318> out of Egypt <04714> with a mighty <02389> hand <03027>.

27 Remember <02142> thy servants <05650>, Abraham <085>, Isaac <03327>, and Jacob <03290>; look <06437> not unto the stubbornness <07190> of this <02088> people <05971>, nor to their wickedness <07562>, nor to their sin <02403>:

28 Lest <06435> the land <0776> whence thou broughtest <03318> us out say <0559>, Because <03588> the LORD <03068> was not able <03201> to bring <0935> them into <0413> the land <0776> which <0834> he promised <01696> them, and because <03588> he hated <08135> them, he hath brought <03318> them out to slay <04191> them in the wilderness <04057>.

29 Yet they [are] thy people <05971> and thine inheritance <05159>, which <0834> thou broughtest <03318> out by thy mighty <01419> power <03581> and by thy stretched <05186> out arm <02220>.

Deuteronomy 10

1. At that time <06256> the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto me, Hew <06458> thee two <08147> tables <03871> of stone <068> like unto the first <07223>, and come <05927> up unto me into the mount <02022>, and make <06213> thee an ark <0727> of wood <06086>.

2 And I will write <03789> on <05921> the tables <03871> the words <01697> that were in the first <07223> tables <03871> which <0834> thou brakest <07665>, and thou shalt put <07760> them in the ark <0727>.

3 And I made <06213> an ark <0727> [of] shittim <07848> wood <06086>, and hewed <06458> two <08147> tables <03871> of stone <068> like unto the first <07223>, and went <05927> up into the mount <02022>, having the two <08147> tables <03871> in mine hand <03027>.

4 And he wrote <03789> on <05921> the tables <03871>, according to the first <07223> writing <04385>, the ten <06235> commandments <01697>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> spake <01696> unto you in the mount <02022> out of the midst <08432> of the fire <0784> in the day <03117> of the assembly <06951>: and the LORD <03068> gave <05414> them unto me.

5 And I turned <06437> myself and came <03381> down <03381> from the mount <02022>, and put <07760> the tables <03871> in the ark <0727> which <0834> I had made <06213>; and there <08033> they be, as the LORD <03068> commanded <06680> me.

6 And the children <01121> of Israel <03478> took their journey <05265> from Beeroth <0881> of the children <01121> of Jaakan <03292> to Mosera <04149>: there <08033> Aaron <0175> died <04191>, and there <08033> he was buried <06912>; and Eleazar <0499> his son <01121> ministered in the priest's <03547> office in his stead <08478>.

7 From thence <08033> they journeyed <05265> unto Gudgodah <01412>; and from Gudgodah <01412> to Jotbath <03193>, a land <0776> of rivers <05158> of waters <04325>.

8 At that time <06256> the LORD <03068> separated <0914> the tribe <07626> of Levi <03878>, to bear <05375> the ark <0727> of the covenant <01285> of the LORD <03068>, to stand <05975> before <06440> the LORD <03068> to minister <08334> unto him, and to bless <01288> in his name <08034>, unto this <02088> day <03117>.

9 Wherefore Levi <03878> hath <01961> no <03808> part <02506> nor inheritance <05159> with his brethren <0251>; the LORD <03068> [is] his inheritance <05159>, according as the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> promised <01696> him.

10 And I stayed <05975> in the mount <02022>, according to the first <07223> time <03117>, forty <0705> days <03117> and forty <0705> nights <03915>; and the LORD <03068> hearkened <08085> unto me at that time <06471> also <01571>, [and] the LORD <03068> would <014> not destroy <07843> thee.

11 And the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto me, Arise <06965>, take [thy] journey <04550> before <06440> the people <05971>, that they may go <0935> in and possess <03423> the land <0776>, which <0834> I sware <07650> unto their fathers <01> to give <05414> unto them.

12. And now <06258>, Israel <03478>, what <04100> doth the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> require <07592> of thee, but to fear <03372> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to walk <03212> in all <03605> his ways <01870>, and to love <0157> him, and to serve <05647> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> with all <03605> thy heart <03824> and with all <03605> thy soul <05315>,

13 To keep <08104> the commandments <04687> of the LORD <03068>, and his statutes <02708>, which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117> for thy good <02896>?

14 Behold <02005>, the heaven <08064> and the heaven <08064> of heavens <08064> [is] the LORD'S <03068> thy God <0430>, the earth <0776> [also], with all <03605> that therein [is].

15 Only <07535> the LORD <03068> had a delight <02836> in thy fathers <01> to love <0157> them, and he chose <0977> their seed <02233> after <0310> them, [even] you above all <03605> people <05971>, as [it is] this <02088> day <03117>.

16 Circumcise <04135> therefore the foreskin <06190> of your heart <03824>, and be no <03808> more <05750> stiffnecked.

17 For the LORD <03068> your God <0430> [is] God <0430> of gods <0430>, and Lord <0113> of lords <0113>, a great <01419> God <0410>, a mighty <01368>, and a terrible <03372>, which <0834> regardeth <05375> not persons <06440>, nor <03808> taketh <03947> reward <07810>:

18 He doth execute <06213> the judgment <04941> of the fatherless <03490> and widow <0490>, and loveth <0157> the stranger <01616>, in giving <05414> him food <03899> and raiment <08071>.

19 Love <0157> ye therefore the stranger <01616>: for ye were strangers <01616> in the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>.

20 Thou shalt fear <03372> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>; him shalt thou serve <05647>, and to him shalt thou cleave <01692>, and swear <07650> by his name <08034>.

21 He [is] thy praise <08416>, and he [is] thy God <0430>, that hath done <06213> for thee these <0428> great <01419> and terrible <03372> things, which <0834> thine eyes <05869> have seen <07200>.

22 Thy fathers <01> went <03381> down <03381> into Egypt <04714> with threescore <07657> and ten persons <05315>; and now <06258> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath made <07760> thee as the stars <03556> of heaven <08064> for multitude <07230>.

Deuteronomy 11

1. Therefore thou shalt love <0157> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and keep <08104> his charge <04931>, and his statutes <02708>, and his judgments <04941>, and his commandments <04687>, alway.

2 And know <03045> ye this day <03117>: for [I speak] not with your children <01121> which <0834> have not known <03045>, and which <0834> have not seen <07200> the chastisement <04148> of the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, his greatness <01433>, his mighty <02389> hand <03027>, and his stretched <05186> out arm <02220>,

3 And his miracles <0226>, and his acts <04640>, which <0834> he did <06213> in the midst <08432> of Egypt <04714> unto Pharaoh <06547> the king <04428> of Egypt <04714>, and unto all <03605> his land <0776>;

4 And what <0834> he did <06213> unto the army <02428> of Egypt <04714>, unto their horses <05483>, and to their chariots <07393>; how <0834> he made the water <04325> of the Red <05488> sea <03220> to overflow <06687> them as they pursued <07291> after <0310> you, and [how] the LORD <03068> hath destroyed <06> them unto this <02088> day <03117>;

5 And what <0834> he did <06213> unto you in the wilderness <04057>, until <05704> ye came <0935> into <05704> this place <04725>;

6 And what <0834> he did <06213> unto Dathan <01885> and Abiram <048>, the sons <01121> of Eliab <0446>, the son <01121> of Reuben <07205>: how <0834> the earth <0776> opened <06475> her mouth <06310>, and swallowed <01104> them up, and their households <01004>, and their tents <0168>, and all <03605> the substance <03351> that [was] in their possession <07272>, in the midst <07130> of all <03605> Israel <03478>:

7 But your eyes <05869> have seen <07200> all <03605> the great <01419> acts <04640> of the LORD <03068> which <0834> he did <06213>.

8. Therefore shall ye keep <08104> all <03605> the commandments <04687> which <0834> I command <06680> you this day <03117>, that ye may be strong <02388>, and go <0935> in and possess <03423> the land <0776>, whither ye go <05674> to possess <03423> it;

9 And that ye may prolong <0748> [your] days <03117> in the land <0127>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> sware <07650> unto your fathers <01> to give <05414> unto them and to their seed <02233>, a land <0776> that floweth <02100> with milk <02461> and honey <01706>.

10 For the land <0776>, whither thou goest <0935> in to possess <03423> it, [is] not as the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>, from whence ye came <03318> out, where <0834> thou sowedst <02232> thy seed <02233>, and wateredst <08248> [it] with thy foot <07272>, as a garden <01588> of herbs <03419>:

11 But the land <0776>, whither ye go <0935> to possess <03423> it, [is] a land <0776> of hills <02022> and valleys <01237>, [and] drinketh <08354> water <04325> of the rain <04306> of heaven <08064>:

12 A land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> careth <01875> for: the eyes <05869> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> [are] always <08548> upon it, from the beginning <07225> of the year <08141> even unto the end <0319> of the year <08141>.

13 And it shall come <01961> to pass, if <0518> ye shall hearken <08085> diligently unto my commandments <04687> which <0834> I command <06680> you this day <03117>, to love <0157> the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, and to serve <05647> him with all <03605> your heart <03824> and with all <03605> your soul <05315>,

14 That I will give <05414> [you] the rain <04306> of your land <0776> in his due season <06256>, the first <03138> rain <04456> and the latter <04456> rain <03138>, that thou mayest gather <0622> in thy corn <01715>, and thy wine <08492>, and thine oil <03323>.

15 And I will send <05414> grass <06212> in thy fields <07704> for thy cattle <0929>, that thou mayest eat <0398> and be full <07646>.

16 Take heed <08104> to yourselves, that your heart <03824> be not deceived <06601>, and ye turn <05493> aside, and serve <05647> other <0312> gods <0430>, and worship <07812> them;

17 And [then] the LORD'S <03068> wrath <0639> be kindled <02734> against you, and he shut <06113> up the heaven <08064>, that there be no <03808> rain <04306>, and that the land <0127> yield <05414> not her fruit <02981>; and [lest] ye perish <06> quickly <04120> from off <0575> the good <02896> land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> giveth <05414> you.

18. Therefore shall ye lay <07760> up these <0438> my words <01697> in your heart <03824> and in your soul <05315>, and bind <07194> them for a sign <0226> upon your hand <03027>, that they may be as frontlets <02903> between <0996> your eyes <05869>.

19 And ye shall teach <03925> them your children <01121>, speaking <01696> of them when thou sittest <03427> in thine house <01004>, and when thou walkest <03212> by the way <01870>, when thou liest <07901> down, and when thou risest <06965> up.

20 And thou shalt write <03789> them upon the door <04201> posts <04201> of thine house <01004>, and upon thy gates <08179>:

21 That your days <03117> may be multiplied <07235>, and the days <03117> of your children <01121>, in the land <0127> which <0834> the LORD <03068> sware <07650> unto your fathers <01> to give <05414> them, as the days <03117> of heaven <08064> upon the earth <0776>.

22 For if <0518> ye shall diligently keep <08104> all <03605> these <02063> commandments <04687> which <0834> I command <06680> you, to do <06213> them, to love <0157> the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, to walk <03212> in all <03605> his ways <01870>, and to cleave <01692> unto him;

23 Then will the LORD <03068> drive <03423> out all <03605> these <0428> nations <01471> from before <06440> you, and ye shall possess <03423> greater <01419> nations <01471> and mightier <06099> than yourselves.

24 Every <03605> place <04725> whereon <0834> the soles <03709> of your feet <07272> shall tread <01869> shall be yours: from the wilderness <04057> and Lebanon <03844>, from the river <05104>, the river <05104> Euphrates <06578>, even unto the uttermost <0314> sea <03220> shall your coast <01366> be.

25 There shall no <03808> man <0376> be able <03320> to stand <03320> before <06440> you: [for] the LORD <03068> your God <0430> shall lay <05414> the fear <06343> of you and the dread <04172> of you upon all <03605> the land <0776> that ye shall tread <01869> upon, as he hath said <01696> unto you.

26. Behold <07200>, I set <05414> before <06440> you this day <03117> a blessing <01293> and a curse <07045>;

27 A blessing <01293>, if <0834> ye obey <08085> the commandments <04687> of the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, which <0834> I command <06680> you this day <03117>:

28 And a curse <07045>, if <0518> ye will not obey <08085> the commandments <04687> of the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, but turn <05493> aside out of the way <01870> which <0834> I command <06680> you this day <03117>, to go <03212> after <0310> other <0312> gods <0430>, which <0834> ye have not known <03045>.

29 And it shall come <01961> to pass, when <03588> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath brought <0935> thee in unto the land <0776> whither thou goest <0935> to possess <03423> it, that thou shalt put <05414> the blessing <01293> upon mount <02022> Gerizim <01630>, and the curse <07045> upon mount <02022> Ebal <05858>.

30 [Are] they not on the other <05676> side <05676> Jordan <03383>, by the way <01870> where the sun <08121> goeth <03996> down <03996>, in the land <0776> of the Canaanites <03669>, which dwell <03427> in the champaign <06160> over <04136> against <04136> Gilgal <01537>, beside <0681> the plains <0436> of Moreh <04176>?

31 For ye shall pass <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383> to go <0935> in to possess <03423> the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> your God <0430> giveth <05414> you, and ye shall possess <03423> it, and dwell <03427> therein.

32 And ye shall observe <08104> to do <06213> all <03605> the statutes <02706> and judgments <04941> which <0834> I set <05414> before <06440> you this day <03117>.

Deuteronomy 12

1. These <0428> [are] the statutes <02706> and judgments <04941>, which <0834> ye shall observe <08104> to do <06213> in the land <0776>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> God <0430> of thy fathers <01> giveth <05414> thee to possess <03423> it, all <03605> the days <03117> that ye live <02416> upon the earth <0127>.

2 Ye shall utterly destroy <06> all <03605> the places <04725>, wherein the nations <01471> which <0834> ye shall possess <03423> served <05647> their gods <0430>, upon the high <07311> mountains <02022>, and upon the hills <01389>, and under <08478> every <03605> green <07488> tree <06086>:

3 And ye shall overthrow <05422> their altars <04196>, and break <07665> their pillars <04676>, and burn <08313> their groves <0842> with fire <0784>; and ye shall hew <01438> down <01438> the graven <06456> images of their gods <0430>, and destroy <06> the names <08034> of them out of that place <04725>.

4 Ye shall not do <06213> so <03651> unto the LORD <03068> your God <0430>.

5. But unto the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> your God <0430> shall choose <0977> out of all <03605> your tribes <07626> to put <07760> his name <08034> there <08033>, [even] unto his habitation <07933> shall ye seek <01875>, and thither <08033> thou shalt come <0935>:

6 And thither <08033> ye shall bring <0935> your burnt <05930> offerings, and your sacrifices <02077>, and your tithes <04643>, and heave <08641> offerings of your hand <03027>, and your vows <05088>, and your freewill <05071> offerings, and the firstlings <01062> of your herds <01241> and of your flocks <06629>:

7 And there <08033> ye shall eat <0398> before <06440> the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, and ye shall rejoice <08055> in all <03605> that ye put <04916> your hand <03027> unto, ye and your households <01004>, wherein <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath blessed <01288> thee.

8 Ye shall not do <06213> after all <03605> [the things] that we do <06213> here <06311> this day <03117>, every man <0376> whatsoever <03605> [is] right <03477> in his own eyes <05869>.

9 For ye are not as yet come <0935> to the rest <04496> and to the inheritance <05159>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> your God <0430> giveth <05414> you.

10 But [when] ye go <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383>, and dwell <03427> in the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> your God <0430> giveth you to inherit <05157>, and [when] he giveth you rest <05117> from all <03605> your enemies <0341> round <05439> about, so that ye dwell <03427> in safety <0983>;

11 Then there shall be a place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> your God <0430> shall choose <0977> to cause his name <08034> to dwell <07931> there <08033>; thither <08033> shall ye bring <0935> all <03605> that I command <06680> you; your burnt <05930> offerings, and your sacrifices <02077>, your tithes <04643>, and the heave <08641> offering <08641> of your hand <03027>, and all <03605> your choice <04005> vows <05088> which <0834> ye vow <05087> unto the LORD <03068>:

12 And ye shall rejoice <08055> before <06440> the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, ye, and your sons <01121>, and your daughters <01121>, and your menservants <05650>, and your maidservants <0519>, and the Levite <03881> that [is] within your gates <08179>; forasmuch <03588> as he hath no <0369> part <02506> nor inheritance <05159> with you.

13 Take heed <08104> to thyself that thou offer <05927> not thy burnt <05930> offerings in every <03605> place <04725> that thou seest <07200>:

14 But in the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> shall choose <0977> in one <0259> of thy tribes <07626>, there <08033> thou shalt offer <05927> thy burnt <05930> offerings, and there <08033> thou shalt do <06213> all <03605> that I command <06680> thee.

15 Notwithstanding <07535> thou mayest kill <02076> and eat <0398> flesh <01320> in all <03605> thy gates <08179>, whatsoever <03605> thy soul <05315> lusteth <0183> after, according to the blessing <01293> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> which <0834> he hath given <05414> thee: the unclean <02931> and the clean <02889> may eat <0398> thereof, as of the roebuck <06643>, and as of the hart <0354>.

16 Only <07535> ye shall not eat <0398> the blood <01818>; ye shall pour <08210> it upon the earth <0776> as water <04325>.

17 Thou mayest <03201> not eat <0398> within thy gates <08179> the tithe <04643> of thy corn <01715>, or of thy wine <08492>, or of thy oil <03323>, or the firstlings <01062> of thy herds <01241> or of thy flock <06629>, nor any <03605> of thy vows <05088> which <0834> thou vowest <05087>, nor thy freewill <05071> offerings, or heave <08641> offering <08641> of thine hand <03027>:

18 But thou must eat <0398> them before <06440> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> in the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall choose <0977>, thou, and thy son <01121>, and thy daughter <01323>, and thy manservant <05650>, and thy maidservant <0519>, and the Levite <03881> that [is] within thy gates <08179>: and thou shalt rejoice <08055> before <06440> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> in all <03605> that thou puttest <04916> thine hands <03027> unto.

19 Take heed <08104> to thyself that thou forsake <05800> not the Levite <03881> as long <03117> as thou livest <03117> upon the earth <0127>.

20 When <03588> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall enlarge <07337> thy border <01366>, as he hath promised <01696> thee, and thou shalt say <0559>, I will eat <0398> flesh <01320>, because <03588> thy soul <05315> longeth <0183> to eat <0398> flesh <01320>; thou mayest eat <0398> flesh <01320>, whatsoever <03605> thy soul <05315> lusteth <0183> after.

21 If <03588> the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath chosen <0977> to put <07760> his name <08034> there <08033> be too <07368> far <07368> from thee, then thou shalt kill <02076> of thy herd <01241> and of thy flock <06629>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> hath given <05414> thee, as I have commanded <06680> thee, and thou shalt eat <0398> in thy gates <08179> whatsoever <03605> thy soul <05315> lusteth <0183> after.

22 Even <0389> as the roebuck <06643> and the hart <0354> is eaten <0398>, so <03651> thou shalt eat <0398> them: the unclean <02931> and the clean <02889> shall eat <0398> [of] them alike <03162>.

23 Only <07535> be sure <02388> that thou eat <0398> not the blood <01818>: for the blood <01818> [is] the life <05315>; and thou mayest not eat <0398> the life <05315> with the flesh <01320>.

24 Thou shalt not eat <0398> it; thou shalt pour <08210> it upon the earth <0776> as water <04325>.

25 Thou shalt not eat <0398> it; that it may go well <03190> with thee, and with thy children <01121> after <0310> thee, when <03588> thou shalt do <06213> [that which is] right <03477> in the sight <05869> of the LORD <03068>.

26 Only <07535> thy holy <06944> things which <0834> thou hast <01961>, and thy vows <05088>, thou shalt take <05375>, and go <0935> unto the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> shall choose <0977>:

27 And thou shalt offer <06213> thy burnt <05930> offerings, the flesh <01320> and the blood <01818>, upon the altar <04196> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>: and the blood <01818> of thy sacrifices <02077> shall be poured <08210> out upon the altar <04196> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and thou shalt eat <0398> the flesh <01320>.

28 Observe <08104> and hear <08085> all <03605> these <0428> words <01697> which <0834> I command <06680> thee, that it may go well <03190> with thee, and with thy children <01121> after <0310> thee for ever <05769>, when <03588> thou doest <06213> [that which is] good <02896> and right <03477> in the sight <05869> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

29 When <03588> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall cut <03772> off the nations <01471> from before <06440> thee, whither thou goest <0935> to possess <03423> them, and thou succeedest <03423> them, and dwellest <03427> in their land <0776>;

30 Take heed <08104> to thyself that thou be not snared <05367> by following <0310> them, after <0310> that they be destroyed <08045> from before <06440> thee; and that thou enquire <01875> not after their gods <0430>, saying <0559>, How <0349> did these <0428> nations <01471> serve <05647> their gods <0430>? even <01571> so <03651> will I do <06213> likewise <03651>.

31 Thou shalt not do <06213> so <03651> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>: for every <03605> abomination <08441> to the LORD <03068>, which <0834> he hateth <08130>, have they done <06213> unto their gods <0430>; for even <01571> their sons <01121> and their daughters <01121> they have burnt <08313> in the fire <0784> to their gods <0430>.

32 What <0853> thing <01697> soever <0834> I command <06680> you, observe <08104> to do <06213> it: thou shalt not add <03254> thereto <05921>, nor <03808> diminish <01639> from it.

Deuteronomy 13

1. If <03588> there arise <06965> among <07130> you a prophet <05030>, or <0176> a dreamer <02492> of dreams <02472>, and giveth <05414> thee a sign <0226> or <0176> a wonder <04159>,

2 And the sign <0226> or the wonder <04159> come <0935> to pass, whereof <0834> he spake <01696> unto thee, saying <0559>, Let us go <03212> after <0310> other <0312> gods <0430>, which <0834> thou hast not known <03045>, and let us serve <05647> them;

3 Thou shalt not hearken <08085> unto the words <01697> of that prophet <05030>, or <0176> that dreamer <02492> of dreams <02472>: for the LORD <03068> your God <0430> proveth <05254> you, to know <03045> whether ye love <0157> the LORD <03068> your God <0430> with all <03605> your heart <03824> and with all <03605> your soul <05315>.

4 Ye shall walk <03212> after <0310> the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, and fear <03372> him, and keep <08104> his commandments <04687>, and obey <08085> his voice <06963>, and ye shall serve <05647> him, and cleave <01692> unto him.

5 And that prophet <05030>, or <0176> that dreamer <02492> of dreams <02472>, shall be put to death <04191>; because <03588> he hath spoken <01696> to turn <05627> [you] away from the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, which brought <03318> you out of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>, and redeemed <06299> you out of the house <01004> of bondage <05650>, to thrust <05080> thee out of the way <01870> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> commanded <06680> thee to walk <03212> in. So shalt thou put <01197> the evil <07451> away <01197> from the midst <07130> of thee.

6. If <03588> thy brother <0251>, the son <01121> of thy mother <0517>, or thy son <01121>, or thy daughter <01323>, or the wife <0802> of thy bosom <02436>, or <0176> thy friend <07453>, which <0834> [is] as thine own soul <05315>, entice <05496> thee secretly <05643>, saying <0559>, Let us go <03212> and serve <05647> other <0312> gods <0430>, which <0834> thou hast not known <03045>, thou, nor thy fathers <01>;

7 [Namely], of the gods <0430> of the people <05971> which <0834> [are] round <05439> about you, nigh <07126> unto thee, or <0176> far <07350> off from thee, from the [one] end <07097> of the earth <0776> even unto the [other] end <07097> of the earth <0776>;

8 Thou shalt not consent <014> unto him, nor <03808> hearken <08085> unto him; neither <03808> shall thine eye <05869> pity <02347> him, neither <03808> shalt thou spare <02550>, neither <03808> shalt thou conceal <03680> him:

9 But thou shalt surely <03588> kill <02026> him; thine hand <03027> shall be first <07223> upon him to put him to death <04191>, and afterwards <0314> the hand <03027> of all <03605> the people <05971>.

10 And thou shalt stone <05619> him with stones <068>, that he die <04191>; because <03588> he hath sought <01245> to thrust <05080> thee away from the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, which brought <03318> thee out of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>, from the house <01004> of bondage <05650>.

11 And all <03605> Israel <03478> shall hear <08085>, and fear <03372>, and shall do <06213> no <03808> more <03254> any <01697> such wickedness <07451> as this <02088> is among <07130> you.

12. If <03588> thou shalt hear <08085> [say] in one <0259> of thy cities <05892>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath given <05414> thee to dwell <03427> there, saying <0559>,

13 [Certain] men <0582>, the children <01121> of Belial <01100>, are gone <03318> out from among <07130> you, and have withdrawn <05080> the inhabitants <03427> of their city <05892>, saying <0559>, Let us go <03212> and serve <05647> other <0312> gods <0430>, which <0834> ye have not known <03045>;

14 Then shalt thou enquire <01875>, and make search <02713>, and ask <07592> diligently <03190>; and, behold <02009>, [if it be] truth <0571>, [and] the thing <01697> certain <03559>, [that] such <02063> abomination <08441> is wrought <06213> among <07130> you;

15 Thou shalt surely smite <05221> the inhabitants <03427> of that city <05892> with the edge <06310> of the sword <02719>, destroying <02763> it utterly, and all <03605> that [is] therein, and the cattle <0929> thereof, with the edge <06310> of the sword <02719>.

16 And thou shalt gather <06908> all <03605> the spoil <07998> of it into <0413> the midst <08432> of the street <07339> thereof, and shalt burn <08313> with fire <0784> the city <05892>, and all <03605> the spoil <07998> thereof every <03632> whit <03632>, for the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>: and it shall be an heap <08510> for ever <05769>; it shall not be built <01129> again <05750>.

17 And there shall cleave <01692> nought of the cursed <02764> thing to thine hand <03027>: that the LORD <03068> may turn <07725> from the fierceness <02740> of his anger <0639>, and shew <05414> thee mercy <07356>, and have compassion <07355> upon thee, and multiply <07235> thee, as he hath sworn <07650> unto thy fathers <01>;

18 When <03588> thou shalt hearken <08085> to the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to keep <08104> all <03605> his commandments <04687> which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>, to do <06213> [that which is] right <03477> in the eyes <05869> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

Deuteronomy 14

1. Ye [are] the children <01121> of the LORD <03068> your God <0430>: ye shall not cut <01413> yourselves, nor <03808> make <07760> any baldness <07144> between <0996> your eyes <05869> for the dead <04191>.

2 For thou [art] an holy <06918> people <05971> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and the LORD <03068> hath chosen <0977> thee to be a peculiar <05459> people <05971> unto himself, above all <03605> the nations <05971> that [are] upon the earth <0127>.

3 Thou shalt not eat <0398> any <03605> abominable <08441> thing.

4 These <02063> [are] the beasts <0929> which <0834> ye shall eat <0398>: the ox <07794>, the sheep <03775>, and the goat <05795>,

5 The hart <0354>, and the roebuck <06643>, and the fallow <03180> deer <03180>, and the wild <0689> goat <0689>, and the pygarg <01787>, and the wild <08377> ox <08377>, and the chamois <02169>.

6 And every <03605> beast <0929> that parteth <06536> the hoof <06541>, and cleaveth <08157> the cleft <08156> into two <08147> claws <06541>, [and] cheweth <05927> the cud <01625> among the beasts <0929>, that ye shall eat <0398>.

7 Nevertheless <0389> these <02088> ye shall not eat <0398> of them that chew <05927> the cud <01625>, or <0176> of them that divide <06536> the cloven <08156> hoof <06541>; [as] the camel <01581>, and the hare <0768>, and the coney <08227>: for they chew <05927> the cud <01625>, but divide <06536> not the hoof <06541>; [therefore] they [are] unclean <02931> unto you.

8 And the swine <02386>, because <03588> it divideth <06536> the hoof <06541>, yet cheweth not the cud <01625>, it [is] unclean <02931> unto you: ye shall not eat <0398> of their flesh <01320>, nor <03808> touch <05060> their dead <05038> carcase <05038>.

9 These <02088> ye shall eat <0398> of all <03605> that [are] in the waters <04325>: all <03605> that have fins <05579> and scales <07193> shall ye eat <0398>:

10 And whatsoever hath not fins <05579> and scales <07193> ye may not eat <0398>; it [is] unclean <02931> unto you.

11 [Of] all <03605> clean <02889> birds <06833> ye shall eat <0398>.

12 But these <02088> [are they] of which <0834> ye shall not eat <0398>: the eagle <05404>, and the ossifrage <06538>, and the ospray <05822>,

13 And the glede <07201>, and the kite <0344>, and the vulture <01772> after his kind <04327>,

14 And every <03605> raven <06158> after his kind <04327>,

15 And the owl, and the night <08464> hawk <08464>, and the cuckow <07828>, and the hawk <05322> after his kind <04327>,

16 The little <03563> owl <03563>, and the great <03244> owl <03244>, and the swan <08580>,

17 And the pelican <06893>, and the gier <07360> eagle <07360>, and the cormorant <07994>,

18 And the stork <02624>, and the heron <0601> after her kind <04327>, and the lapwing <01744>, and the bat <05847>.

19 And every <03605> creeping <08318> thing that flieth <05775> [is] unclean <02931> unto you: they shall not be eaten <0398>.

20 [But of] all <03605> clean <02889> fowls <05775> ye may eat <0398>.

21 Ye shall not eat <0398> [of] any <03605> thing that dieth <05038> of itself: thou shalt give <05414> it unto the stranger <01616> that [is] in thy gates <08179>, that he may eat <0398> it; or <0176> thou mayest sell <04376> it unto an alien <05237>: for thou [art] an holy <06918> people <05971> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>. Thou shalt not seethe <01310> a kid <01423> in his mother's <0517> milk <02461>.

22. Thou shalt truly tithe <06237> all <03605> the increase <08393> of thy seed <02233>, that the field <07704> bringeth <03318> forth <03318> year <08141> by year <08141>.

23 And thou shalt eat <0398> before <06440> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, in the place <04725> which <0834> he shall choose <0977> to place <07931> his name <08034> there <08033>, the tithe <04643> of thy corn <01715>, of thy wine <08492>, and of thine oil <03323>, and the firstlings <01062> of thy herds <01241> and of thy flocks <06629>; that thou mayest learn <03925> to fear <03372> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> always.

24 And if <03588> the way <01870> be too long <07235> for thee, so that thou art not able <03201> to carry <05375> it; [or] if <03588> the place <04725> be too far <07368> from thee, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall choose <0977> to set <07760> his name <08034> there <08033>, when <03588> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath blessed <01288> thee:

25 Then shalt thou turn <05414> [it] into money <03701>, and bind <06887> up the money <03701> in thine hand <03027>, and shalt go <01980> unto the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall choose <0977>:

26 And thou shalt bestow <05414> that money <03701> for whatsoever thy soul <05315> lusteth <0183> after, for oxen <01241>, or for sheep <06629>, or for wine <03196>, or for strong drink <07941>, or for whatsoever thy soul <05315> desireth <07592>: and thou shalt eat <0398> there <08033> before <06440> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and thou shalt rejoice <08055>, thou, and thine household <01004>,

27 And the Levite <03881> that [is] within thy gates <08179>; thou shalt not forsake <05800> him; for he hath no <0369> part <02506> nor inheritance <05159> with thee.

28 At the end <07097> of three <07969> years <08141> thou shalt bring <03318> forth <03318> all <03605> the tithe <04643> of thine increase <08393> the same <01931> year <08141>, and shalt lay <03241> [it] up within thy gates <08179>:

29 And the Levite <03881>, (because he hath no <0369> part <02506> nor inheritance <05159> with thee,) and the stranger <01616>, and the fatherless <03490>, and the widow <0490>, which <0834> [are] within thy gates <08179>, shall come <0935>, and shall eat <0398> and be satisfied <07646>; that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> may bless <01288> thee in all <03605> the work <04639> of thine hand <03027> which <0834> thou doest <06213>.

Deuteronomy 15

1. At the end <07093> of [every] seven <07651> years <08141> thou shalt make <06213> a release <08059>.

2 And this <02088> [is] the manner <01697> of the release <08059>: Every <03605> creditor that lendeth <05383> [ought] unto his neighbour <07453> shall release <08058> [it]; he shall not exact <05065> [it] of his neighbour <07453>, or of his brother <0251>; because <03588> it is called <07121> the LORD'S <03068> release <08059>.

3 Of a foreigner <05237> thou mayest exact <05065> [it again]: but [that] which <0834> is thine with thy brother <0251> thine hand <03027> shall release <08058>;

4 Save <0657> when <03588> there shall be no <03808> poor <034> among you; for the LORD <03068> shall greatly bless <01288> thee in the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee [for] an inheritance <05159> to possess <03423> it:

5 Only <07535> if <0518> thou carefully <08085> hearken <08085> unto the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to observe <08104> to do <06213> all <03605> these <02063> commandments <04687> which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>.

6 For the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> blesseth <01288> thee, as he promised <01696> thee: and thou shalt lend <05670> unto many <07227> nations <01471>, but thou shalt not borrow <05670>; and thou shalt reign <04910> over many <07227> nations <01471>, but they shall not reign <04910> over thee.

7 If <03588> there be among you a poor <034> man of one <0259> of thy brethren <0251> within any <0259> of thy gates <08179> in thy land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee, thou shalt not harden <0533> thine heart <03824>, nor <03808> shut <07092> thine hand <03027> from thy poor <034> brother <0251>:

8 But thou shalt open <06605> thine hand <03027> wide <06605> unto him, and shalt surely lend <05670> him sufficient <01767> for his need <04270>, [in that] which <0834> he wanteth <02637>.

9 Beware <08104> that there be not a thought <01697> in thy wicked <01100> heart <03824>, saying <0559>, The seventh <07637> year <08141>, the year <08141> of release <08059>, is at <07126> hand <07126>; and thine eye <05869> be evil <07489> against thy poor <034> brother <0251>, and thou givest <05414> him nought <03808>; and he cry <07121> unto the LORD <03068> against <05921> thee, and it be sin <02399> unto thee.

10 Thou shalt surely give <05414> him, and thine heart <03824> shall not be grieved <07489> when thou givest <05414> unto him: because <03588> that for this <02088> thing <01697> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall bless <01288> thee in all <03605> thy works <04639>, and in all <03605> that thou puttest <04916> thine hand <03027> unto.

11 For the poor <034> shall never <03808> cease <02308> out of the land <0776>: therefore I command <06680> thee, saying <0559>, Thou shalt open <06605> thine hand <03027> wide <06605> unto thy brother <0251>, to thy poor <06041>, and to thy needy <034>, in thy land <0776>.

12. [And] if <03588> thy brother <0251>, an Hebrew <05680> man, or <0176> an Hebrew <05680> woman, be sold <04376> unto thee, and serve <05647> thee six <08337> years <08141>; then in the seventh <07637> year <08141> thou shalt let him go <07971> free <02670> from thee.

13 And when <03588> thou sendest <07971> him out free <02670> from thee, thou shalt not let him go <07971> away empty <07387>:

14 Thou shalt furnish <06059> him liberally <06059> out of thy flock <06629>, and out of thy floor <01637>, and out of thy winepress <03342>: [of that] wherewith <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath blessed <01288> thee thou shalt give <05414> unto him.

15 And thou shalt remember <02142> that thou wast <01961> a bondman <05650> in the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>, and the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> redeemed <06299> thee: therefore I command <06680> thee this <02088> thing <01697> to day <03117>.

16 And it shall be, if <03588> he say <0559> unto thee, I will not go <03318> away <03318> from thee; because <03588> he loveth <0157> thee and thine house <01004>, because <03588> he is well <02895> with thee;

17 Then thou shalt take <03947> an aul <04836>, and thrust <05414> [it] through his ear <0241> unto the door <01817>, and he shall be thy servant <05650> for ever <05769>. And also <0637> unto thy maidservant <0519> thou shalt do <06213> likewise <03651>.

18 It shall not seem <07185> hard <07185> unto thee, when thou sendest <07971> him away free <02670> from thee; for he hath been worth <07939> a double <04932> hired <07916> servant <07916> [to thee], in serving <05647> thee six <08337> years <08141>: and the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall bless <01288> thee in all <03605> that thou doest <06213>.

19. All <03605> the firstling <01060> males <02145> that come <03205> of thy herd <01241> and of thy flock <06629> thou shalt sanctify <06942> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>: thou shalt do no <03808> work <05647> with the firstling <01060> of thy bullock <07794>, nor <03808> shear <01494> the firstling <01060> of thy sheep <06629>.

20 Thou shalt eat <0398> [it] before <06440> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> year <08141> by year <08141> in the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> shall choose <0977>, thou and thy household <01004>.

21 And if <03588> there be [any] blemish <03971> therein, [as if it be] lame <06455>, or <0176> blind <05787>, [or <0176> have] any <03605> ill <07451> blemish <03971>, thou shalt not sacrifice <02076> it unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

22 Thou shalt eat <0398> it within thy gates <08179>: the unclean <02931> and the clean <02889> [person shall eat it] alike <03162>, as the roebuck <06643>, and as the hart <0354>.

23 Only <07535> thou shalt not eat <0398> the blood <01818> thereof; thou shalt pour <08210> it upon the ground <0776> as water <04325>.

Deuteronomy 16

1. Observe <08104> the month <02320> of Abib <024>, and keep <06213> the passover <06453> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>: for in the month <02320> of Abib <024> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> brought <03318> thee forth <03318> out of Egypt <04714> by night <03915>.

2 Thou shalt therefore sacrifice <02076> the passover <06453> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, of the flock <06629> and the herd <01241>, in the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> shall choose <0977> to place <07931> his name <08034> there <08033>.

3 Thou shalt eat <0398> no <03808> leavened <02557> bread with it; seven <07651> days <03117> shalt thou eat <0398> unleavened <04682> bread therewith <05921>, [even] the bread <03899> of affliction <06040>; for thou camest <03318> forth <03318> out of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714> in haste <02649>: that thou mayest remember <02142> the day <03117> when thou camest <03318> forth <03318> out of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714> all <03605> the days <03117> of thy life <02416>.

6 But at <0413> the place <04724> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall choose <0977> to place <07931> his name <08034> in, there <08033> thou shalt sacrifice <02076> the passover <06453> at even <06153>, at the going <0935> down <0935> of the sun <08121>, at the season <04150> that thou camest <03318> forth <03318> out of Egypt <04714>.

7 And thou shalt roast <01310> and eat <0398> [it] in the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall choose <0977>: and thou shalt turn <06437> in the morning <01242>, and go <01980> unto thy tents <0168>.

8 Six <08337> days <03117> thou shalt eat <0398> unleavened <04682> bread: and on the seventh <07637> day <03117> [shall be] a solemn <06116> assembly <06116> to the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>: thou shalt do <06213> no <03808> work <04399> [therein].

11 And thou shalt rejoice <08055> before <06440> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, thou, and thy son <01121>, and thy daughter <01323>, and thy manservant <05650>, and thy maidservant <0519>, and the Levite <03881> that [is] within thy gates <08179>, and the stranger <01616>, and the fatherless <03490>, and the widow <0490>, that [are] among <07130> you, in the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath chosen <0977> to place <07931> his name <08034> there <08033>.

12 And thou shalt remember <02142> that thou wast <01961> a bondman <05650> in Egypt <04714>: and thou shalt observe <08104> and do <06213> these <0428> statutes <02706>.

13 Thou shalt observe <06213> the feast <02282> of tabernacles <05521> seven <07651> days <03117>, after that thou hast gathered <0622> in thy corn <01637> and thy wine <03342>:

14 And thou shalt rejoice <08055> in thy feast <02282>, thou, and thy son <01121>, and thy daughter <01323>, and thy manservant <05650>, and thy maidservant <0519>, and the Levite <03881>, the stranger <01616>, and the fatherless <03490>, and the widow <0490>, that [are] within thy gates <08179>.

15 Seven <07651> days <03117> shalt thou keep <02287> a solemn <02287> feast <02287> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> in the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> shall choose <0977>: because <03588> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall bless <01288> thee in all <03605> thine increase <08393>, and in all <03605> the works <04639> of thine hands <03027>, therefore thou shalt surely <0389> rejoice <08055>.

16 Three <07969> times <06471> in a year <08141> shall all <03605> thy males <02138> appear <07200> before the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> in the place <04725> which <0834> he shall choose <0977>; in the feast <02282> of unleavened <04682> bread, and in the feast <02282> of weeks <07620>, and in the feast <02282> of tabernacles <05521>: and they shall not appear <07200> before the LORD <03068> empty <07387>:

17 Every man <0376> [shall give] as he is able, according to the blessing <01293> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> which <0834> he hath given <05414> thee.

18. Judges <08199> and officers <07860> shalt thou make <05414> thee in all <03605> thy gates <08179>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee, throughout thy tribes <07626>: and they shall judge <08199> the people <05971> with just <06664> judgment <04941>.

19 Thou shalt not wrest <05186> judgment <04941>; thou shalt not respect <06437> persons <06440>, neither <03808> take <03947> a gift <07810>: for a gift <07810> doth blind <05786> the eyes <05869> of the wise <02450>, and pervert <05557> the words <01697> of the righteous <06662>.

20 That which is altogether just <06664> shalt thou follow <07291>, that thou mayest live <02421>, and inherit <03423> the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee.

21 Thou shalt not plant <05193> thee a grove <0842> of any <03605> trees <06086> near <0681> unto the altar <04196> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, which <0834> thou shalt make <06213> thee.

22 Neither <03808> shalt thou set <06965> thee up [any] image <04676>; which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hateth <08130>.

Deuteronomy 17

1. Thou shalt not sacrifice <02076> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> [any] bullock <07794>, or sheep <07716>, wherein <0834> is blemish <03971>, [or] any <03605> evilfavouredness: for that [is] an abomination <08441> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

2 If <03588> there be found <04672> among <07130> you, within any <0259> of thy gates <08179> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee, man <0376> or woman <0802>, that hath wrought <06213> wickedness <07451> in the sight <05869> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, in transgressing <05674> his covenant <01285>,

3 And hath gone <03212> and served <05647> other <0312> gods <0430>, and worshipped <07812> them, either the sun <08121>, or <0176> moon <03394>, or <0176> any <03605> of the host <06635> of heaven <08064>, which <0834> I have not commanded <06680>;

4 And it be told <05046> thee, and thou hast heard <08085> [of it], and enquired <01875> diligently <03190>, and, behold <02009>, [it be] true <0571>, [and] the thing <01697> certain <03559>, [that] such <02063> abomination <08441> is wrought <06213> in Israel <03478>:

5 Then shalt thou bring <03318> forth <03318> that man <0376> or <0176> that woman <0802>, which <0834> have committed <06213> that wicked <07451> thing <01697>, unto thy gates <08179>, [even] that man <0376> or <0176> that woman <0802>, and shalt stone <05619> them with stones <068>, till they die <04191>.

6 At <05921> the mouth <06310> of two <08147> witnesses <05707>, or <0176> three <07969> witnesses <05707>, shall he that is worthy of death <04191> be put to death <04191>; [but] at <05921> the mouth <06310> of one <0259> witness <05707> he shall not be put to death <04191>.

7 The hands <03027> of the witnesses <05707> shall be first <07223> upon him to put him to death <04191>, and afterward <0314> the hands <03027> of all <03605> the people <05971>. So thou shalt put <01197> the evil <07451> away <01197> from among <07130> you.

8. If <03588> there arise <06965> a matter <01697> too hard <06381> for thee in judgment <04941>, between <0996> blood <01818> and blood <01818>, between <0996> plea <01779> and plea <01779>, and between <0996> stroke <05061> and stroke <05061>, [being] matters <01697> of controversy <07379> within thy gates <08179>: then shalt thou arise, and get <05927> thee up into <0413> the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall choose <0977>;

9 And thou shalt come <0935> unto the priests <03548> the Levites <03881>, and unto the judge <08199> that shall be in those <01992> days <03117>, and enquire <01875>; and they shall shew <05046> thee the sentence <01697> of judgment <04941>:

10 And thou shalt do <06213> according to the sentence <01697>, which <0834> they of that place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> shall choose <0977> shall shew <05046> thee; and thou shalt observe <08104> to do <06213> according to all <03605> that they inform <03384> thee:

11 According <05921> to the sentence <06310> of the law <08451> which <0834> they shall teach <03384> thee, and according <05921> to the judgment <04941> which <0834> they shall tell <0559> thee, thou shalt do <06213>: thou shalt not decline <05493> from the sentence <01697> which <0834> they shall shew <05046> thee, [to] the right <03225> hand <03225>, nor [to] the left <08040>.

12 And the man <0376> that will do <06213> presumptuously <02087>, and will not hearken <08085> unto the priest <03548> that standeth <05975> to minister <08334> there <08033> before <0854> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, or <0176> unto the judge <08199>, even that man <0376> shall die <04191>: and thou shalt put <01197> away <01197> the evil <07451> from Israel <03478>.

13 And all <03605> the people <05971> shall hear <08085>, and fear <03372>, and do no <03808> more <05750> presumptuously <02102>.

14. When <03588> thou art come <0935> unto the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee, and shalt possess <03423> it, and shalt dwell <03427> therein, and shalt say <0559>, I will set <07760> a king <04428> over <05921> me, like as all <03605> the nations <01471> that [are] about <05439> me;

15 Thou shalt in any wise set <07760> [him] king <04428> over <05921> thee, whom <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall choose <0977>: [one] from among <07130> thy brethren <0251> shalt thou set <07760> king <04428> over <05921> thee: thou mayest <03201> not set <05414> a stranger over <05921> thee, which <0834> [is] not thy brother <0251>.

16 But he shall not multiply <07235> horses <05483> to himself, nor <03808> cause the people <05971> to return <07725> to Egypt <04714>, to the end <04616> that he should multiply <07235> horses <05483>: forasmuch as the LORD <03068> hath said <0559> unto you, Ye shall henceforth <03254> return <07725> no <03808> more <05750> that way <01870>.

17 Neither <03808> shall he multiply <07235> wives <0802> to himself, that his heart <03824> turn <05493> not away: neither <03808> shall he greatly <03966> multiply <07235> to himself silver <03701> and gold <02091>.

18 And it shall be, when he sitteth <03427> upon the throne <03678> of his kingdom <04467>, that he shall write <03789> him a copy <04932> of this <02063> law <08451> in a book <05612> out of [that which is] before <06440> the priests <03548> the Levites <03881>:

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read <07121> therein all <03605> the days <03117> of his life <02416>: that he may learn <03925> to fear <03372> the LORD <03068> his God <0430>, to keep <08104> all <03605> the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451> and these <0428> statutes <02706>, to do <06213> them:

20 That his heart <03824> be not lifted <07311> up above his brethren <0251>, and that he turn <05493> not aside from the commandment <04687>, [to] the right <03225> hand <03225>, or [to] the left <08040>: to the end <04616> that he may prolong <0748> [his] days <03117> in his kingdom <04467>, he, and his children <01121>, in the midst <07130> of Israel <03478>.

Deuteronomy 18

1. The priests <03548> the Levites <03881>, [and] all <03605> the tribe <07626> of Levi <03878>, shall have no <03808> part <02506> nor inheritance <05159> with Israel <03478>: they shall eat <0398> the offerings of the LORD <03068> made by fire, and his inheritance <05159>.

2 Therefore shall they have no <03808> inheritance <05159> among <07130> their brethren <0251>: the LORD <03068> [is] their inheritance <05159>, as he hath said <01696> unto them.

3 And this <02088> shall be the priest's <03548> due <04941> from the people <05971>, from them that offer <02076> a sacrifice <02077>, whether <0518> [it be] ox <07794> or sheep <07716>; and they shall give <05414> unto the priest <03548> the shoulder <02220>, and the two <08147> cheeks <03895>, and the maw <06896>.

4 The firstfruit <07225> [also] of thy corn <01715>, of thy wine <08492>, and of thine oil <03323>, and the first <07225> of the fleece <01488> of thy sheep <06629>, shalt thou give <05414> him.

5 For the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath chosen <0977> him out of all <03605> thy tribes <07626>, to stand <05975> to minister <08334> in the name <08034> of the LORD <03068>, him and his sons <01121> for ever.

6 And if <03588> a Levite <03881> come <0935> from any <0259> of thy gates <08179> out of all <03605> Israel <03478>, where he sojourned <01481>, and come <0935> with all <03605> the desire <0183> of his mind <05315> unto the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> shall choose <0977>;

7 Then he shall minister <08334> in the name <08034> of the LORD <03068> his God <0430>, as all <03605> his brethren <0251> the Levites <03881> [do], which stand <05975> there <08033> before <06440> the LORD <03068>.

8 They shall have like portions <02506> to eat <0398>, beside <0905> that which cometh of the sale <04465> of his patrimony.

9. When <03588> thou art come <0935> into <0413> the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee, thou shalt not learn <03925> to do <06213> after the abominations <08441> of those <01992> nations <01471>.

10 There shall not be found <04672> among you [any one] that maketh his son <01121> or his daughter <01323> to pass <05674> through the fire <0784>, [or] that useth divination <07081>, [or] an observer <06049> of times, or an enchanter <05172>, or a witch <03784>,

11 Or a charmer, or a consulter <07592> with familiar spirits <0178>, or a wizard <03049>, or a necromancer.

12 For all <03605> that do <06213> these <0428> things [are] an abomination <08441> unto the LORD <03068>: and because <01558> of these <0428> abominations <08441> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> doth drive <03423> them out from before <06440> thee.

13 Thou shalt be perfect <08549> with the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

14 For these <0428> nations <01471>, which <0834> thou shalt possess <03423>, hearkened <08085> unto observers <06049> of times, and unto diviners <07080>: but as for thee, the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath not suffered <05414> thee so <03651> [to do].

15. The LORD <03068> thy God <0430> will raise <06965> up unto thee a Prophet <05030> from the midst <07130> of thee, of thy brethren <0251>, like <03644> unto me; unto him ye shall hearken <08085>;

16 According to all <03605> that thou desiredst <07592> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> in Horeb <02722> in the day <03117> of the assembly <06951>, saying <0559>, Let me not hear <08085> again <03254> the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> my God <0430>, neither <03808> let me see <07200> this <02063> great <01419> fire <0784> any more <05750>, that I die <04191> not.

17 And the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto me, They have well <03190> [spoken <01696> that] which <0834> they have spoken.

18 I will raise <06965> them up a Prophet <05030> from among <07130> their brethren <0251>, like <03644> unto thee, and will put <05414> my words <01697> in his mouth <06310>; and he shall speak <01696> unto them all <03605> that I shall command <06680> him.

19 And it shall come <01961> to pass, [that] whosoever will not hearken <08085> unto my words <01697> which <0834> he shall speak <01696> in my name <08034>, I will require <01875> [it] of him.

20 But the prophet <05030>, which <0834> shall presume <02102> to speak <01696> a word <01697> in my name <08034>, which I have not commanded <06680> him to speak <01696>, or that shall speak <01696> in the name <08034> of other <0312> gods <0430>, even that prophet <05030> shall die <04191>.

21 And if <03588> thou say <0559> in thine heart <03824>, How <0349> shall we know <03045> the word <01697> which <0834> the LORD <03068> hath not spoken <01696>?

22 When <0834> a prophet <05030> speaketh <01696> in the name <08034> of the LORD <03068>, if the thing <01697> follow <01961> not, nor <03808> come <0935> to pass, that [is] the thing <01697> which <0834> the LORD <03068> hath not spoken <01696>, [but] the prophet <05030> hath spoken <01696> it presumptuously <02087>: thou shalt not be afraid <01481> of him.

Deuteronomy 19

1. When <03588> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath cut <03772> off the nations <01471>, whose <0834> land <0776> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee, and thou succeedest <03423> them, and dwellest <03427> in their cities <05892>, and in their houses <01004>;

2 Thou shalt separate <0914> three <07969> cities <05892> for thee in the midst <08432> of thy land <0776>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee to possess <03423> it.

3 Thou shalt prepare <03559> thee a way <01870>, and divide the coasts <01366> of thy land <0776>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth thee to inherit <05157>, into three <08027> parts, that every <03605> slayer <07523> may flee <05127> thither <08033>.

4 And this <02088> [is] the case <01697> of the slayer <07523>, which <0834> shall flee <05127> thither <08033>, that he may live <02425>: Whoso <0834> killeth <05221> his neighbour <07453> ignorantly, whom he hated <08130> not in time past <08032>;

5 As when <0834> a man goeth <0935> into the wood <03293> with his neighbour <07453> to hew <02404> wood <06086>, and his hand <03027> fetcheth <05080> a stroke with the axe <01631> to cut <03772> down the tree <06086>, and the head <01270> slippeth <05394> from the helve <06086>, and lighteth <04672> upon his neighbour <07453>, that he die <04191>; he shall flee <05127> unto one <0259> of those <0428> cities <05892>, and live <02425>:

6 Lest <06435> the avenger <01350> of the blood <01818> pursue <07291> the slayer <07523>, while <03588> his heart <03824> is hot <03179>, and overtake <05381> him, because <03588> the way <01870> is long <07235>, and slay <05221> him; whereas he [was] not worthy of death <04194>, inasmuch <03588> as he hated <08130> him not in time past <08032>.

7 Wherefore I command <06680> thee, saying <0559>, Thou shalt separate <0914> three <07969> cities <05892> for thee.

8 And if <0518> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> enlarge <07337> thy coast <01366>, as he hath sworn <07650> unto thy fathers <01>, and give <05414> thee all <03605> the land <0776> which <0834> he promised <01696> to give <05414> unto thy fathers <01>;

9 If <03588> thou shalt keep <08104> all <03605> these <02063> commandments <04687> to do <06213> them, which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>, to love <0157> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and to walk <03212> ever in his ways <01870>; then shalt thou add <03254> three <07969> cities <05892> more <05750> for thee, beside <05921> these three <07969>:

10 That innocent <05355> blood <01818> be not shed <08210> in thy land <0776>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee [for] an inheritance <05159>, and [so] blood <01818> be upon thee.

11 But if <03588> any man <0376> hate <08130> his neighbour <07453>, and lie <0693> in wait <0693> for him, and rise <06965> up against <05921> him, and smite <05221> him mortally <05315> that he die <04191>, and fleeth <05127> into <0413> one <0259> of these <0411> cities <05892>:

12 Then the elders <02205> of his city <05892> shall send <07971> and fetch <03947> him thence <08033>, and deliver <05414> him into the hand <03027> of the avenger <01350> of blood <01818>, that he may die <04191>.

13 Thine eye <05869> shall not pity <02347> him, but thou shalt put <01197> away <01197> [the guilt of] innocent <05355> blood <01818> from Israel <03478>, that it may go well <02895> with thee.

14. Thou shalt not remove <05253> thy neighbour's <07453> landmark <01366>, which <0834> they of old <07223> time have set <01379> in thine inheritance <05159>, which <0834> thou shalt inherit <05157> in the land <0776> that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee to possess <03423> it.

15 One <0259> witness <05707> shall not rise <06965> up against a man <0376> for any <03605> iniquity <05771>, or for any <03605> sin <02403>, in any <03605> sin <02399> that he sinneth <02398>: at <05921> the mouth <06310> of two <08147> witnesses <05707>, or at <05921> the mouth <06310> of three <07969> witnesses <05707>, shall the matter <01697> be established <06965>.

16 If <03588> a false <02555> witness <05707> rise <06965> up against any man <0376> to testify <06030> against him [that which is] wrong <05627>;

17 Then both <08147> the men <0582>, between whom the controversy <07379> [is], shall stand <05975> before <06440> the LORD <03068>, before <06440> the priests <03548> and the judges <08199>, which <0834> shall be in those <01992> days <03117>;

18 And the judges <08199> shall make diligent <03190> inquisition <01875>: and, behold <02009>, [if] the witness <05707> [be] a false <08267> witness <05707>, [and] hath testified <06030> falsely <08267> against his brother <0251>;

19 Then shall ye do <06213> unto him, as he had thought <02161> to have done <06213> unto his brother <0251>: so shalt thou put <01197> the evil <07451> away <01197> from among <07130> you.

20 And those which remain <07604> shall hear <08085>, and fear <03372>, and shall henceforth <03254> commit <06213> no <03808> more <05750> any <01697> such evil <07451> among <07130> you.

21 And thine eye <05869> shall not pity <02347>; [but] life <05315> [shall go] for life <05315>, eye <05869> for eye <05869>, tooth <08127> for tooth <08127>, hand <03027> for hand <03027>, foot <07272> for foot <07272>.

Deuteronomy 20

1. When <03588> thou goest <03318> out to battle <04421> against <05921> thine enemies <0341>, and seest <07200> horses <05483>, and chariots <07393>, [and] a people <05971> more <07227> than thou, be not afraid <03372> of them: for the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> [is] with thee, which <0834> brought <05927> thee up out of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>.

2 And it shall be, when ye are come <07126> nigh <07126> unto the battle <04421>, that the priest <03548> shall approach <05066> and speak <01696> unto the people <05971>,

3 And shall say <0559> unto them, Hear <08085>, O Israel <03478>, ye approach <07126> this day <03117> unto battle <04421> against <05921> your enemies <0341>: let not your hearts <03824> faint <07401>, fear <03372> not, and do not tremble <02648>, neither <0408> be ye terrified <06206> because <06440> of them;

4 For the LORD <03068> your God <0430> [is] he that goeth <01980> with you, to fight <03898> for you against <05973> your enemies <0341>, to save <03467> you.

5 And the officers <07860> shall speak <01696> unto the people <05971>, saying <0559>, What <04310> man <0376> [is there] that hath built <01129> a new <02319> house <01004>, and hath not dedicated <02596> it? let him go <03212> and return <07725> to his house <01004>, lest <06435> he die <04191> in the battle <04421>, and another <0312> man <0376> dedicate <02596> it.

6 And what <04310> man <0376> [is he] that hath planted <05193> a vineyard <03754>, and hath not [yet] eaten <02490> of it? let him [also] go <03212> and return <07725> unto his house <01004>, lest <06435> he die <04191> in the battle <04421>, and another <0312> man <0376> eat <02490> of it.

7 And what <04310> man <0376> [is there] that hath betrothed <0781> a wife <0802>, and hath not taken <03947> her? let him go <03212> and return <07725> unto his house <01004>, lest <06435> he die <04191> in the battle <04421>, and another <0312> man <0376> take <03947> her.

8 And the officers <07860> shall speak <01696> further <03254> unto the people <05971>, and they shall say <0559>, What <04310> man <0376> [is there that is] fearful <03373> and fainthearted <03824>? let him go <03212> and return <07725> unto his house <01004>, lest <06435> his brethren's <0251> heart <03824> faint <04549> as well as his heart <03824>.

9 And it shall be, when the officers <07860> have made an end <03615> of speaking <01696> unto the people <05971>, that they shall make captains <08269> of the armies <06635> to lead <07218> the people <05971>.

10. When <03588> thou comest <07126> nigh <07126> unto a city <05892> to fight <03898> against <05921> it, then proclaim <07121> peace <07965> unto it.

11 And it shall be, if <0518> it make thee answer <06030> of peace <07965>, and open <06605> unto thee, then it shall be, [that] all <03605> the people <05971> [that is] found <04672> therein shall be tributaries <04522> unto thee, and they shall serve <05647> thee.

12 And if <0518> it will make no <03808> peace <07999> with thee, but will make <06213> war <04421> against <05973> thee, then thou shalt besiege <06696> it:

13 And when the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath delivered <05414> it into thine hands <03027>, thou shalt smite <05221> every <03605> male <02138> thereof with the edge <06310> of the sword <02719>:

14 But the women <0802>, and the little <02945> ones, and the cattle <0929>, and all <03605> that is in the city <05892>, [even] all <03605> the spoil <07998> thereof, shalt thou take <0962> unto thyself; and thou shalt eat <0398> the spoil <07998> of thine enemies <0341>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath given <05414> thee.

15 Thus <03651> shalt thou do <06213> unto all <03605> the cities <05892> [which are] very <03966> far <07350> off from thee, which <0834> [are] not of the cities <05892> of these nations <01471>.

16 But of the cities <05892> of these <0428> people <05971>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> doth give <05414> thee [for] an inheritance <05159>, thou shalt save <02421> alive <02421> nothing that breatheth <05397>:

17 But thou shalt utterly destroy <02763> them; [namely], the Hittites <02850>, and the Amorites <0567>, the Canaanites <03669>, and the Perizzites <06522>, the Hivites <02340>, and the Jebusites <02983>; as the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath commanded <06680> thee:

18 That they teach <03925> you not to do <06213> after all <03605> their abominations <08441>, which <0834> they have done <06213> unto their gods <0430>; so should ye sin <02398> against the LORD <03068> your God <0430>.

19 When <03588> thou shalt besiege <06696> a city <05892> a long <07227> time <03117>, in making war <03898> against <05921> it to take <08610> it, thou shalt not destroy <07843> the trees <06086> thereof by forcing <05080> an axe <01631> against <05921> them: for thou mayest eat <0398> of them, and thou shalt not cut <03772> them down (for the tree <06086> of the field <07704> [is] man's <0120> [life]) to employ [them] in the siege <04692>:

20 Only <07535> the trees <06086> which <0834> thou knowest <03045> that they [be] not trees <06086> for meat <03978>, thou shalt destroy <07843> and cut <03772> them down; and thou shalt build <01129> bulwarks <04692> against <05921> the city <05892> that maketh <06213> war <04421> with thee, until <05704> it be subdued <03381>.

Deuteronomy 21

1. If <03588> [one] be found <04672> slain <02491> in the land <0127> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee to possess <03423> it, lying <05307> in the field <07704>, [and] it be not known <03045> who <04310> hath slain <02491> him:

2 Then thy elders <02205> and thy judges <08199> shall come <03318> forth <03318>, and they shall measure <04058> unto the cities <05892> which <0834> [are] round <05439> about him that is slain <02491>:

3 And it shall be, [that] the city <05892> [which is] next <07138> unto the slain <02491> man <0376>, even the elders <02205> of that city <05892> shall take <03947> an heifer <05697>, which <0834> hath not been wrought <05647> with, [and] which <0834> hath not drawn <04900> in the yoke <05923>;

4 And the elders <02205> of that city <05892> shall bring <02381> down <03381> the heifer <05697> unto a rough <0386> valley <05158>, which <0834> is neither <03808> eared <05647> nor <03808> sown <02232>, and shall strike off the heifer's <05697> neck <06203> there <08033> in the valley <05158>:

5 And the priests <03548> the sons <01121> of Levi <03878> shall come <05506> near <05066>; for them the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath chosen <0977> to minister <08334> unto him, and to bless <01288> in the name <08034> of the LORD <03068>; and by their word <06310> shall every <03605> controversy <07379> and every <03605> stroke <05061> be [tried]:

6 And all <03605> the elders <02205> of that city <05892>, [that are] next <07138> unto the slain <02491> [man], shall wash <07364> their hands <03027> over <05921> the heifer <05697> that is beheaded <06202> in the valley <05158>:

7 And they shall answer <06030> and say <0559>, Our hands <03027> have not shed <08210> this <02088> blood <01818>, neither <03808> have our eyes <05869> seen <07200> [it].

8 Be merciful <03722>, O LORD <03068>, unto thy people <05971> Israel <03478>, whom <0834> thou hast redeemed <06299>, and lay <05414> not innocent <05355> blood <01818> unto thy people <05971> of Israel's <03478> charge <07130>. And the blood <01818> shall be forgiven <03722> them.

9 So shalt thou put <01197> away <01197> the [guilt of] innocent <05355> blood <01818> from among <07130> you, when <03588> thou shalt do <06213> [that which is] right <03477> in the sight <05869> of the LORD <03068>.

10. When <03588> thou goest <03318> forth <03318> to war <04421> against <05921> thine enemies <0341>, and the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath delivered <05414> them into thine hands <03027>, and thou hast taken them captive <07617>,

11 And seest <07200> among the captives <07633> a beautiful woman <0802>, and hast a desire <02836> unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife <0802>;

12 Then thou shalt bring <0935> her home <08432> to thine house <01004>; and she shall shave <01548> her head <07218>, and pare <06213> her nails <06856>;

13 And she shall put <05493> the raiment <08071> of her captivity <07633> from off <05921> her, and shall remain <03427> in thine house <01004>, and bewail <01058> her father <01> and her mother <0517> a full <03117> month <03391>: and after <0310> that thou shalt go <0935> in unto her, and be her husband <01167>, and she shall be thy wife <0802>.

14 And it shall be, if <0518> thou have no <03808> delight <02654> in her, then thou shalt let her go <07971> whither she will <05315>; but thou shalt not sell <04376> her at all for money <03701>, thou shalt not make <06014> merchandise <06014> of her, because thou hast humbled <06031> her.

15. If <03588> a man <0376> have <01961> two <08147> wives <0802>, one <0259> beloved <0157>, and another <0259> hated <08130>, and they have born <03205> him children <01121>, [both] the beloved <0157> and the hated <08130>; and [if] the firstborn <01060> son <01121> be hers that was hated <08146>:

16 Then it shall be, when <03117> he maketh his sons <01121> to inherit <05157> [that] which <0834> he hath <01961>, [that] he may <03201> not make the son <01121> of the beloved <0157> firstborn <01069> before <06440> the son <01121> of the hated <08130>, [which is indeed] the firstborn <01060>:

17 But he shall acknowledge <05234> the son <01121> of the hated <08130> [for] the firstborn <01060>, by giving <05414> him a double <08147> portion <06310> of all <03605> that he hath <04672>: for he [is] the beginning <07225> of his strength <0202>; the right <04941> of the firstborn <01062> [is] his.

18. If <03588> a man <0376> have <01961> a stubborn <05637> and rebellious <04784> son <01121>, which will not obey <08085> the voice <06963> of his father <01>, or the voice <06963> of his mother <0517>, and [that], when they have chastened <03256> him, will not hearken <08085> unto them:

19 Then shall his father <01> and his mother <0517> lay hold <08610> on him, and bring <03318> him out unto the elders <02205> of his city <05892>, and unto the gate <08179> of his place <04725>;

20 And they shall say <0559> unto the elders <02205> of his city <05892>, This <02088> our son <01121> [is] stubborn <05637> and rebellious <04784>, he will not obey <08085> our voice <06963>; [he is] a glutton <02151>, and a drunkard <05435>.

21 And all <03605> the men <0582> of his city <05892> shall stone <07275> him with stones <068>, that he die <04191>: so shalt thou put <01197> evil <07451> away <01197> from among <07130> you; and all <03605> Israel <03478> shall hear <08085>, and fear <03372>.

22 And if <03588> a man <0376> have committed <01961> a sin <02399> worthy of death <04194>, and he be to be put to death <04191>, and thou hang <08518> him on <05921> a tree <06086>:

23 His body <05038> shall not remain <03885> all <03605> night upon the tree <06086>, but thou shalt in any wise bury <06912> him that day <03117>; (for he that is hanged <08518> [is] accursed <07045> of God <0430>;) that thy land <0127> be not defiled <02930>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee [for] an inheritance <05159>.

Deuteronomy 22

1. Thou shalt not see <07200> thy brother's <0251> ox <07794> or <0176> his sheep <07716> go astray <05080>, and hide <05956> thyself from them: thou shalt in any case <07725> bring <07725> them again <07725> unto thy brother <0251>.

2 And if <0518> thy brother <0251> [be] not nigh <07126> unto thee, or if thou know <03045> him not, then thou shalt bring <0622> it unto thine own house <01004>, and it shall be with thee until <05704> thy brother <0251> seek <01875> after it, and thou shalt restore <07725> it to him again <07725>.

3 In like <03651> manner <03651> shalt thou do <06213> with his ass <02543>; and so <03651> shalt thou do <06213> with his raiment <08071>; and with all <03605> lost <09> thing of thy brother's <0251>, which <0834> he hath lost <06>, and thou hast found <04672>, shalt thou do <06213> likewise <03651>: thou mayest <03201> not hide <05956> thyself.

4 Thou shalt not see <07200> thy brother's <0251> ass <02543> or <0176> his ox <07794> fall <05307> down by the way <01870>, and hide <05956> thyself from them: thou shalt surely help <06965> him to lift <06965> [them] up again.

5. The woman <0802> shall not wear <01961> that which pertaineth <03627> unto a man <01397>, neither <03808> shall a man <01397> put <03847> on a woman's <0802> garment <08071>: for all <03605> that do <06213> so <0428> [are] abomination <08441> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

7 [But] thou shalt in any wise let the dam <0517> go <07971>, and take <03947> the young <01121> to thee; that it may be well <03190> with thee, and [that] thou mayest prolong <0748> [thy] days <03117>.

8 When <03588> thou buildest <01129> a new <02319> house <01004>, then thou shalt make <06213> a battlement <04624> for thy roof <01406>, that thou bring <07760> not blood <01818> upon thine house <01004>, if <03588> any man fall <05307> from thence.

13. If <03588> any man <0376> take <03947> a wife <0802>, and go <0935> in unto her, and hate <08130> her,

14 And give <07760> occasions <05949> of speech <01697> against her, and bring <03318> up an evil <07451> name <08034> upon her, and say <0559>, I took <03947> this <02063> woman <0802>, and when I came <07126> to her, I found <04672> her not a maid <01331>:

17 And, lo <02009>, he hath given <07760> occasions <05949> of speech <01697> [against her], saying <0559>, I found <04672> not thy daughter <01323> a maid <01331>; and yet these <0428> [are the tokens of] my daughter's <01323> virginity <01331>. 18 And the elders <02205> of that city <05892> shall take <03947> that man <0376> and chastise <03256> him;

19 And they shall amerce <06064> him in an hundred <03967> [shekels] of silver <03701>, and give <05414> [them] unto the father <01> of the damsel <05291>, because <03588> he hath brought <03318> up an evil <07451> name <08034> upon a virgin <01330> of Israel <03478>: and she shall be his wife <0802>; he may <03201> not put <07971> her away all <03605> his days <03117>.

20 But if <0518> this <02088> thing <01697> be true <0571>, [and the tokens of] virginity <01331> be not found <04672> for the damsel <05291>:

21 Then they shall bring <03318> out the damsel <05291> to the door <06607> of her father's <01> house <01004>, and the men <0582> of her city <05892> shall stone <05619> her with stones <068> that she die <04191>: because <03588> she hath wrought <06213> folly <05039> in Israel <03478>, to play the whore <02181> in her father's <01> house <01004>: so shalt thou put <01197> evil <07451> away <01197> from among <07130> you.

22 If <03588> a man <0376> be found <04672> lying <07901> with a woman <0802> married <01166> to an husband <01167>, then they shall both of them die <04191>, [both] the man <0376> that lay <07901> with the woman <0802>, and the woman <0802>: so shalt thou put <01197> away <01197> evil <07451> from Israel <03478>.

23 If <03588> a damsel <05291> [that is] a virgin <01330> be betrothed <0781> unto an husband <0376>, and a man <0376> find <04672> her in the city <05892>, and lie <07901> with her;

24 Then ye shall bring <03318> them both <08147> out unto the gate <08179> of that city <05892>, and ye shall stone <05619> them with stones <068> that they die <04191>; the damsel <05291>, because she cried <06817> not, [being] in the city <05892>; and the man <0376>, because he hath humbled <06031> his neighbour's <07453> wife <0802>: so thou shalt put <01197> away <01197> evil <07451> from among <07130> you.

25 But if <0518> a man <0376> find <04672> a betrothed <0781> damsel <05291> in the field <07704>, and the man <0376> force <02388> her, and lie <07901> with her: then the man <0376> only <0905> that lay <07901> with her shall die <04191>:

26 But unto the damsel <05291> thou shalt do <06213> nothing; [there is] in the damsel <05291> no <0369> sin <02399> [worthy] of death <04194>: for as when a man <0376> riseth <06965> against <05921> his neighbour <07453>, and slayeth him, even so <03651> [is] this <02088> matter <01697>:

27 For he found <04672> her in the field <07704>, [and] the betrothed <0781> damsel <05291> cried <06817>, and [there was] none <0369> to save <03467> her.

28 If <03588> a man <0376> find <04672> a damsel <05291> [that is] a virgin <01330>, which <0834> is not betrothed <0781>, and lay hold <08610> on her, and lie <07901> with her, and they be found <04672>;

29 Then the man <0376> that lay <07901> with her shall give <05414> unto the damsel's <05291> father <01> fifty <02572> [shekels] of silver <03701>, and she shall be his wife <0802>; because he hath humbled <06031> her, he may <03201> not put <07971> her away all <03605> his days <03117>.

30 A man <0376> shall not take <03947> his father's <01> wife <0802>, nor <03808> discover <01540> his father's <01> skirt <03671>.

Deuteronomy 23

1. He that is wounded <01795> in the stones, or hath his privy <08212> member cut <03772> off, shall not enter <0935> into the congregation <06951> of the LORD <03068>.

2 A bastard <04464> shall not enter <0935> into the congregation <06951> of the LORD <03068>; even <01571> to his tenth <06224> generation <01755> shall he not enter <0935> into the congregation <06951> of the LORD <03068>.

3 An Ammonite <05984> or Moabite <04125> shall not enter <0935> into the congregation <06951> of the LORD <03068>; even <01571> to their tenth <06224> generation <01755> shall they not enter <0935> into the congregation <06951> of the LORD <03068> for ever <05769>:

4 Because they met <06923> you not with bread <03899> and with water <04325> in the way <01870>, when ye came <03318> forth <03318> out of Egypt <04714>; and because <03588> they hired <07936> against <05921> thee Balaam <01109> the son <01121> of Beor <01160> of Pethor <06604> of Mesopotamia <0763>, to curse <07043> thee.

5 Nevertheless the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> would <014> not hearken <08085> unto Balaam <01109>; but the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> turned <02015> the curse <07045> into a blessing <01293> unto thee, because <03588> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> loved <0157> thee.

6 Thou shalt not seek <01875> their peace <07965> nor their prosperity <02896> all <03605> thy days <03117> for ever <05769>.

7 Thou shalt not abhor <08581> an Edomite <0130>; for he [is] thy brother <0251>: thou shalt not abhor <08581> an Egyptian <04713>; because <03588> thou wast <01961> a stranger <01616> in his land <0776>.

8 The children <01121> that are begotten <03205> of them shall enter <0935> into the congregation <06951> of the LORD <03068> in their third <07992> generation <01755>.

9. When <03588> the host <04264> goeth <03318> forth <03318> against <05921> thine enemies <0341>, then keep <08104> thee from every <03605> wicked <07451> thing <01697>.

10 If <03588> there be among you any man <0376>, that is not clean <02889> by reason of uncleanness <07137> that chanceth <04745> him by night <03915>, then shall he go <03318> abroad <02351> out of the camp <04264>, he shall not come <0935> within <08432> the camp <04264>:

11 But it shall be, when evening <06153> cometh <06437> on, he shall wash <07364> [himself] with water <04325>: and when the sun <08121> is down <0935>, he shall come <0935> into <08432> the camp <04264> [again].

12 Thou shalt have <01961> a place <04725> also without <02351> the camp <04264>, whither <08033> thou shalt go <03318> forth <03318> abroad <02351>:

13 And thou shalt have <01961> a paddle <03489> upon thy weapon <0240>; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease <03427> thyself abroad <02351>, thou shalt dig <02658> therewith, and shalt turn <07725> back <07725> and cover <03680> that which <0834> cometh <06627> from thee:

14 For the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> walketh <01980> in the midst <07130> of thy camp <04264>, to deliver <05337> thee, and to give <05414> up thine enemies <0341> before <06440> thee; therefore shall thy camp <04264> be holy <06918>: that he see <07200> no <03808> unclean <06172> thing <01697> in thee, and turn <07725> away from thee.

15. Thou shalt not deliver <05462> unto his master <0113> the servant <05650> which <0834> is escaped <05337> from his master <0113> unto thee:

16 He shall dwell <03427> with thee, [even] among <07130> you, in that place <04725> which <0834> he shall choose <0977> in one <0259> of thy gates <08179>, where it liketh <02896> him best <02896>: thou shalt not oppress <03238> him.

17 There shall be no <03808> whore <06948> of the daughters <01121> of Israel <03478>, nor <03808> a sodomite <06945> of the sons <01121> of Israel <03478>.

18 Thou shalt not bring <0935> the hire <0868> of a whore <02181>, or the price <04242> of a dog <03611>, into the house <01004> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> for any <03605> vow <05088>: for even <01571> both <08147> these [are] abomination <08441> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

19 Thou shalt not lend <05391> upon usury <05391> to thy brother <0251>; usury <05392> of money <03701>, usury <05392> of victuals <0400>, usury <05392> of any <03605> thing <01697> that is lent <05391> upon usury <05391>:

20 Unto a stranger <05237> thou mayest lend <05391> upon usury <05391>; but unto thy brother <0251> thou shalt not lend <05391> upon usury <05391>: that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> may bless <01288> thee in all <03605> that thou settest <04916> thine hand <03027> to in the land <0776> whither thou goest <0935> to possess <03423> it.

21 When <03588> thou shalt vow <05087> a vow <05088> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, thou shalt not slack <0309> to pay <07999> it: for the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> will surely require <01875> it of thee; and it would be sin <02399> in thee.

22 But if <03588> thou shalt forbear <02308> to vow <05088>, it shall be no <03808> sin <02399> in thee.

23 That which <0834> is gone <04161> out of thy lips <08193> thou shalt keep <08104> and perform <06213>; [even] a freewill <05071> offering, according as thou hast vowed <05087> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, which thou hast promised <01696> with thy mouth <06310>.

24 When <03588> thou comest <0935> into thy neighbour's <07453> vineyard <03754>, then thou mayest eat <0398> grapes <06025> thy fill <07648> at thine own pleasure <05315>; but thou shalt not put <05414> [any] in thy vessel <03627>.

25 When <03588> thou comest <0935> into the standing <07054> corn <07054> of thy neighbour <07453>, then thou mayest pluck <06998> the ears <04425> with thine hand <03027>; but thou shalt not move <05130> a sickle <02770> unto thy neighbour's <07453> standing <07054> corn <07054>.

Deuteronomy 24

1. When <03588> a man <0376> hath taken <03947> a wife <0802>, and married <01166> her, and it come <01961> to pass that she find <04672> no <03808> favour <02580> in his eyes <05869>, because <03588> he hath found <04672> some <01697> uncleanness <06172> in her: then let him write <03789> her a bill <05612> of divorcement <03748>, and give <05414> [it] in her hand <03027>, and send <07971> her out of his house <01004>.

2 And when she is departed <03318> out of his house <01004>, she may go <01980> and be another <0312> man's <0376> [wife].

3 And [if] the latter <0314> husband <0376> hate <08130> her, and write <03789> her a bill <05612> of divorcement <03748>, and giveth <05414> [it] in her hand <03027>, and sendeth <07971> her out of his house <01004>; or <0176> if <03588> the latter <0314> husband <0376> die <04191>, which <0834> took <03947> her [to be] his wife <0802>;

4 Her former <07223> husband <01167>, which <0834> sent <07971> her away, may <03201> not take <03947> her again <07725> to be his wife <0802>, after <0310> that she is defiled <02930>; for that [is] abomination <08441> before <06440> the LORD <03068>: and thou shalt not cause the land <0776> to sin <02398>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee [for] an inheritance <05159>.

5. When <03588> a man <0376> hath taken <03947> a new <02319> wife <0802>, he shall not go <03318> out to war <06635>, neither <03808> shall he be charged with any <03605> business <01697>: [but] he shall be free <05355> at home <01004> one <0259> year <08141>, and shall cheer <08055> up his wife <0802> which <0834> he hath taken <03947>.

6 No <03808> man shall take <02254> the nether <07347> or the upper <07393> millstone <07347> to pledge <02254>: for he taketh <02254> [a man's] life <05315> to pledge <02254>.

7 If <03588> a man <0376> be found <04672> stealing <01589> any <05315> of his brethren <0251> of the children <01121> of Israel <03478>, and maketh merchandise <06014> of him, or selleth <04376> him; then that thief <01590> shall die <04191>; and thou shalt put <01197> evil <07451> away <01197> from among <07130> you.

8 Take heed <08104> in the plague <05061> of leprosy <06883>, that thou observe <08104> diligently <03966>, and do <06213> according to all <03605> that the priests <03548> the Levites <03881> shall teach <03384> you: as I commanded <06680> them, [so] ye shall observe <08104> to do <06213>.

9 Remember <02142> what the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> did <06213> unto Miriam <04813> by the way <01870>, after that ye were come <03318> forth <03318> out of Egypt <04714>.

10 When <03588> thou dost lend <05383> thy brother <07453> any <03972> thing <04859>, thou shalt not go <0935> into <0413> his house <01004> to fetch <05670> his pledge <05667>.

11 Thou shalt stand <05975> abroad <02351>, and the man <0376> to whom <0834> thou dost lend <05383> shall bring <03318> out the pledge <05667> abroad <02351> unto thee.

12 And if <0518> the man <0376> [be] poor <06041>, thou shalt not sleep <07901> with his pledge <05667>:

13 In any case <07725> thou shalt deliver <07725> him the pledge <05667> again <07725> when the sun <08121> goeth <0935> down <0935>, that he may sleep <07901> in his own raiment <08008>, and bless <01288> thee: and it shall be righteousness <06666> unto thee before <06440> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

14. Thou shalt not oppress <06231> an hired <07916> servant <07916> [that is] poor <06041> and needy <034>, [whether he be] of thy brethren <0251>, or of thy strangers <01616> that [are] in thy land <0776> within thy gates <08179>:

15 At his day <03117> thou shalt give <05414> [him] his hire <07939>, neither <03808> shall the sun <08121> go <0935> down <0935> upon it; for he [is] poor <06041>, and setteth <05375> his heart <05315> upon it: lest <03808> he cry <07121> against <05921> thee unto the LORD <03068>, and it be sin <02399> unto thee.

16 The fathers <01> shall not be put to death <04191> for the children <01121>, neither <03808> shall the children <01121> be put to death <04191> for the fathers <01>: every man <0376> shall be put to death <04191> for his own sin <02399>.

17 Thou shalt not pervert <05186> the judgment <04941> of the stranger <01616>, [nor] of the fatherless <03490>; nor <03808> take <02254> a widow's <0490> raiment <0899> to pledge <02254>:

18 But thou shalt remember <02142> that thou wast <01961> a bondman <05650> in Egypt <04714>, and the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> redeemed <06299> thee thence <08033>: therefore I command <06680> thee to do <06213> this <02088> thing <01697>.

19 When <03588> thou cuttest <07114> down thine harvest <07105> in thy field <07704>, and hast forgot <07911> a sheaf <06016> in the field <07704>, thou shalt not go <07725> again <07725> to fetch <03947> it: it shall be for the stranger <01616>, for the fatherless <03490>, and for the widow <0490>: that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> may bless <01288> thee in all <03605> the work <04639> of thine hands <03027>.

20 When <03588> thou beatest <02251> thine olive <02132> tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs <06288> again <0310>: it shall be for the stranger <01616>, for the fatherless <03490>, and for the widow <0490>.

21 When <03588> thou gatherest <01219> the grapes of thy vineyard <03754>, thou shalt not glean <05953> [it] afterward <0310>: it shall be for the stranger <01616>, for the fatherless <03490>, and for the widow <0490>.

22 And thou shalt remember <02142> that thou wast <01961> a bondman <05650> in the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>: therefore I command <06680> thee to do <06213> this <02088> thing <01697>.

Deuteronomy 25

1. If <03588> there be a controversy <07379> between <0996> men <0582>, and they come <05066> unto judgment <04941>, that [the judges <08199>] may judge <08199> them; then they shall justify <06663> the righteous <06662>, and condemn <07561> the wicked <07563>.

2 And it shall be, if <0518> the wicked <07563> man [be] worthy <01121> to be beaten <05221>, that the judge <08199> shall cause him to lie <05307> down, and to be beaten <05221> before his face, according <01767> to his fault <07564>, by a certain number <04557>.

3 Forty <0705> stripes <05221> he may give him, [and] not exceed <03254>: lest <06435>, [if] he should exceed <03254>, and beat <05221> him above <05921> these with many <07227> stripes <04347>, then thy brother <0251> should seem <07034> vile <07034> unto thee.

4 Thou shalt not muzzle <02629> the ox <07794> when he treadeth <01758> out [the corn].

5. If <03588> brethren <0251> dwell <03427> together <03162>, and one <0259> of them die <04191>, and have no <0369> child <01121>, the wife <0802> of the dead <04191> shall not marry without <02351> unto a stranger: her husband's <02993> brother <02993> shall go <0935> in unto her, and take <03947> her to him to wife <0802>, and perform the duty of an husband's <02992> brother <02992> unto her.

6 And it shall be, [that] the firstborn <01060> which she beareth <03205> shall succeed <06965> in the name <08034> of his brother <0251> [which is] dead <04191>, that his name <08034> be not put <04229> out of Israel <03478>.

7 And if <0518> the man <0376> like <02654> not to take <03947> his brother's <02994> wife <02994>, then let his brother's <02994> wife <02994> go <05927> up to the gate <08179> unto the elders <02205>, and say <0559>, My husband's <02993> brother <02993> refuseth <03985> to raise <06965> up unto his brother <0251> a name <08034> in Israel <03478>, he will <014> not perform the duty of my husband's <02992> brother <02992>.

8 Then the elders <02205> of his city <05892> shall call <07121> him, and speak <01696> unto him: and [if] he stand <05975> [to it], and say <0559>, I like <02654> not to take <03947> her;

9 Then shall his brother's <02994> wife <02994> come <05066> unto him in the presence <05869> of the elders <02205>, and loose <02502> his shoe <05275> from off <05921> his foot <07272>, and spit <03417> in his face <06440>, and shall answer <06030> and say <0559>, So <03602> shall it be done <06213> unto that man <0376> that will not build <01129> up his brother's <0251> house <01004>.

10 And his name <08034> shall be called <07121> in Israel <03478>, The house <01004> of him that hath his shoe <05275> loosed <02502>.

11 When <03588> men <0582> strive <05327> together <03162> one <0259> with another <0250>, and the wife <0802> of the one <0259> draweth near <07126> for to deliver <05337> her husband <0376> out of the hand <03027> of him that smiteth <05221> him, and putteth <07971> forth <07971> her hand <03027>, and taketh <02388> him by the secrets <04016>:

12 Then thou shalt cut <07112> off her hand <03709>, thine eye <05869> shall not pity <02347> [her].

13. Thou shalt not have <01961> in thy bag <03599> divers weights <068>, a great <01419> and a small <06996>.

14 Thou shalt not have <01961> in thine house <01004> divers measures <0374>, a great <01419> and a small <06996>.

15 [But] thou shalt have <01961> a perfect <08003> and just <06664> weight <068>, a perfect <08003> and just <06664> measure <0374> shalt thou have <01961>: that thy days <03117> may be lengthened <0748> in the land <0127> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee.

16 For all <03605> that do <06213> such <0428> things, [and] all <03605> that do <06213> unrighteously <05766>, [are] an abomination <08441> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

17 Remember <02142> what Amalek <06002> did <06213> unto thee by the way <01870>, when ye were come <03318> forth <03318> out of Egypt <04714>;

18 How <0834> he met <07136> thee by the way <01870>, and smote the hindmost <02179> of thee, [even] all <03605> [that were] feeble <02826> behind <0310> thee, when thou [wast] faint <05889> and weary <03023>; and he feared <03373> not God <0430>.

19 Therefore it shall be, when the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath given thee rest <05117> from all <03605> thine enemies <0341> round <05439> about, in the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee [for] an inheritance <05159> to possess <03423> it, [that] thou shalt blot <04229> out the remembrance <02143> of Amalek <06002> from under <08478> heaven <08064>; thou shalt not forget <07911> [it].

Deuteronomy 26

1. And it shall be, when <03588> thou [art] come <0935> in unto the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee [for] an inheritance <05159>, and possessest <03423> it, and dwellest <03427> therein;

2 That thou shalt take <03947> of the first <07225> of all <03605> the fruit <06529> of the earth <0127>, which <0834> thou shalt bring <0935> of thy land <0776> that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee, and shalt put <07760> [it] in a basket <02935>, and shalt go <01980> unto the place <04725> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall choose <0977> to place <07931> his name <08034> there <08033>.

4 And the priest <03548> shall take <03947> the basket <02935> out of thine hand <03027>, and set <03240> it down before <06440> the altar <04196> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

5 And thou shalt speak <06030> and say <0559> before <06440> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, A Syrian <0761> ready to perish <06> [was] my father <01>, and he went <03381> down <03381> into Egypt <04714>, and sojourned <01481> there <08033> with a few <04592>, and became <01961> there <08033> a nation <01471>, great <01419>, mighty <06099>, and populous <07227>:

6 And the Egyptians <04713> evil <07489> entreated us, and afflicted <06031> us, and laid <05414> upon us hard <07186> bondage <05656>:

11 And thou shalt rejoice <08055> in every <03605> good <02896> [thing] which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath given <05414> unto thee, and unto thine house <01004>, thou, and the Levite <03881>, and the stranger <01616> that [is] among <07130> you.

12. 13 Then thou shalt say <0559> before <06440> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, I have brought <01197> away <01197> the hallowed <06944> things out of [mine] house <01004>, and also <01571> have given <05414> them unto the Levite <03881>, and unto the stranger <01616>, to the fatherless <03490>, and to the widow <0490>, according to all <03605> thy commandments <04687> which <0834> thou hast commanded <06680> me: I have not transgressed <05674> thy commandments <04687>, neither <03808> have I forgotten <07911> [them]:

15 Look <08259> down from thy holy <06944> habitation <04583>, from heaven <08064>, and bless <01288> thy people <05971> Israel <03478>, and the land <0127> which <0834> thou hast given <05414> us, as thou swarest <07650> unto our fathers <01>, a land <0776> that floweth <02100> with milk <02461> and honey <01706>.

16. This <02088> day <03117> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath commanded <06680> thee to do <06213> these <0428> statutes <02706> and judgments <04941>: thou shalt therefore keep <08104> and do <06213> them with all <03605> thine heart <03824>, and with all <03605> thy soul <05315>.

17 Thou hast avouched <0559> the LORD <03068> this day <03117> to be thy God <0430>, and to walk <03212> in his ways <01870>, and to keep <08104> his statutes <02706>, and his commandments <04687>, and his judgments <04941>, and to hearken <08085> unto his voice <06963>:

18 And the LORD <03068> hath avouched <0559> thee this day <03117> to be his peculiar <05459> people <05971>, as he hath promised <01696> thee, and that [thou] shouldest keep <08104> all <03605> his commandments <04687>;

19 And to make <06213> thee high <05945> above <05921> all <03605> nations <01471> which <0834> he hath made <06213>, in praise <08416>, and in name <08034>, and in honour <08597>; and that thou mayest be an holy <06918> people <05971> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, as he hath spoken <01696>.

Deuteronomy 27

1. And Moses <04872> with the elders <02205> of Israel <03478> commanded <06680> the people <05971>, saying <0559>, Keep <08104> all <03605> the commandments <04687> which <0834> I command <06680> you this day <03117>.

2 And it shall be on the day <03117> when <0834> ye shall pass <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383> unto the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee, that thou shalt set <06965> thee up great <01419> stones <068>, and plaister <07874> them with plaister <07874>:

3 And thou shalt write <03789> upon them all <03605> the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451>, when thou art passed <05674> over <05674>, that thou mayest go <0935> in unto the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee, a land <0776> that floweth <02100> with milk <02461> and honey <01706>; as the LORD <03068> God <0430> of thy fathers <01> hath promised <01696> thee.

4 Therefore it shall be when ye be gone <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383>, [that] ye shall set <06965> up these <0428> stones <068>, which <0834> I command <06680> you this day <03117>, in mount <02022> Ebal <05858>, and thou shalt plaister <07874> them with plaister <07874>.

5 And there <08033> shalt thou build <01129> an altar <04196> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, an altar <04196> of stones <068>: thou shalt not lift <05130> up [any] iron <01270> [tool] upon them.

6 Thou shalt build <01129> the altar <04196> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> of whole <08003> stones <068>: and thou shalt offer <05927> burnt <05930> offerings thereon <05921> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>:

7 And thou shalt offer <02076> peace <08002> offerings, and shalt eat <0398> there <08033>, and rejoice <08055> before <06440> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

8 And thou shalt write <03789> upon the stones <068> all <03605> the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451> very <03190> plainly <0874>.

9 And Moses <04872> and the priests <03548> the Levites <03881> spake <01696> unto all <03605> Israel <03478>, saying <0559>, Take <05535> heed <05535>, and hearken <08085>, O Israel <03478>; this <02088> day <03117> thou art become <01961> the people <05971> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

10 Thou shalt therefore obey <08085> the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and do <06213> his commandments <04687> and his statutes <02706>, which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>.

11. And Moses <04872> charged <06680> the people <05971> the same <01931> day <03117>, saying <0559>,

12 These <0428> shall stand <05975> upon mount <02022> Gerizim <01630> to bless <01288> the people <05971>, when ye are come <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383>; Simeon <08095>, and Levi <03878>, and Judah <03063>, and Issachar <03485>, and Joseph <03130>, and Benjamin <01144>:

13 And these <0428> shall stand <05975> upon mount <02022> Ebal <05858> to curse <07045>; Reuben <07205>, Gad <01410>, and Asher <0836>, and Zebulun <02074>, Dan <01835>, and Naphtali <05321>.

14 And the Levites <03881> shall speak <06030>, and say <0559> unto all <03605> the men <0376> of Israel <03478> with a loud <07311> voice <06963>,

15 Cursed <0779> [be] the man <0376> that maketh <06213> [any] graven <06459> or molten <04541> image, an abomination <08441> unto the LORD <03068>, the work <04639> of the hands <03027> of the craftsman <02976>, and putteth <07760> [it] in [a] secret <05643> [place]. And all <03605> the people <05971> shall answer <06030> and say <0559>, Amen <0543>.

16 Cursed <0779> [be] he that setteth <07034> light <07034> by his father <01> or his mother <0517>. And all <03605> the people <05971> shall say <0559>, Amen <0543>.

17 Cursed <0779> [be] he that removeth <05253> his neighbour's <07453> landmark <01366>. And all <03605> the people <05971> shall say <0559>, Amen <0543>.

18 Cursed <0779> [be] he that maketh the blind <05787> to wander <07686> out of the way <01870>. And all <03605> the people <05971> shall say <0559>, Amen <0543>.

19 Cursed <0779> [be] he that perverteth <05186> the judgment <04941> of the stranger <01616>, fatherless <03490>, and widow <0490>. And all <03605> the people <05971> shall say <0559>, Amen <0543>.

20 Cursed <0779> [be] he that lieth <07901> with his father's <01> wife <0802>; because <03588> he uncovereth <01540> his father's <01> skirt <03671>. And all <03605> the people <05971> shall say <0559>, Amen <0543>.

24 Cursed <0779> [be] he that smiteth <05221> his neighbour <07453> secretly <05643>. And all <03605> the people <05971> shall say <0559>, Amen <0543>.

25 Cursed <0779> [be] he that taketh <03947> reward <07810> to slay <05221> an innocent <05355> person <05315>. And all <03605> the people <05971> shall say <0559>, Amen <0543>.

26 Cursed <0779> [be] he that confirmeth <06965> not [all] the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451> to do <06213> them. And all <03605> the people <05971> shall say <0559>, Amen <0543>.

Deuteronomy 28

1. And it shall come <01961> to pass, if <0518> thou shalt hearken <08085> diligently unto the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to observe <08104> [and] to do <06213> all <03605> his commandments <04687> which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>, that the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> will set <05414> thee on <05921> high <05945> above <05921> all <03605> nations <01471> of the earth <0776>:

2 And all <03605> these <0428> blessings <01293> shall come <0935> on <05921> thee, and overtake <05381> thee, if <03588> thou shalt hearken <08085> unto the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

3 Blessed <01288> [shalt] thou [be] in the city <05892>, and blessed <01288> [shalt] thou [be] in the field <07704>.

4 Blessed <01288> [shall be] the fruit <06529> of thy body <0990>, and the fruit <06529> of thy ground <0127>, and the fruit <06529> of thy cattle <0929>, the increase <07698> of thy kine <0504>, and the flocks <06251> of thy sheep <06629>.

5 Blessed <01288> [shall be] thy basket <02935> and thy store <04863>.

6 Blessed <01288> [shalt] thou [be] when thou comest <0935> in, and blessed <01288> [shalt] thou [be] when thou goest <03318> out.

7 The LORD <03068> shall cause <05414> thine enemies <0341> that rise <06965> up against <05921> thee to be smitten <05062> before thy face: they shall come <03318> out against <0413> thee one <0259> way <01870>, and flee <05127> before <06440> thee seven <07651> ways <01870>.

8 The LORD <03068> shall command <06680> the blessing <01293> upon thee in thy storehouses <0618>, and in all <03605> that thou settest <04916> thine hand <03027> unto; and he shall bless <01288> thee in the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> giveth <05414> thee.

9 The LORD <03068> shall establish <06965> thee an holy <06918> people <05971> unto himself, as he hath sworn <07650> unto thee, if <03588> thou shalt keep <08104> the commandments <04687> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and walk <01980> in his ways <01870>.

10 And all <03605> people <05971> of the earth <0776> shall see <07200> that thou art called <07121> by the name <08034> of the LORD <03068>; and they shall be afraid <03372> of thee.

11 And the LORD <03068> shall make thee plenteous <03498> in goods <02896>, in the fruit <06529> of thy body <0990>, and in the fruit <06529> of thy cattle <0929>, and in the fruit <06529> of thy ground <0127>, in the land <0127> which <0834> the LORD <03068> sware <07650> unto thy fathers <01> to give <05414> thee.

12 The LORD <03068> shall open <06605> unto thee his good <02896> treasure <0214>, the heaven <08064> to give <05414> the rain <04306> unto thy land <0776> in his season <06256>, and to bless <01288> all <03605> the work <04639> of thine hand <03027>: and thou shalt lend <03867> unto many <07227> nations <01471>, and thou shalt not borrow <03867>.

13 And the LORD <03068> shall make <05414> thee the head <07218>, and not the tail <02180>; and thou shalt be above <04605> only <07535>, and thou shalt not be beneath <04295>; if <03588> that thou hearken <08085> unto the commandments <04687> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>, to observe <08104> and to do <06213> [them]:

14 And thou shalt not go <05493> aside <05493> from any <03605> of the words <01697> which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>, [to] the right <03225> hand <03225>, or [to] the left <08040>, to go <03212> after <0310> other <0312> gods <0430> to serve <05647> them.

15. But it shall come <01961> to pass, if <0518> thou wilt not hearken <08085> unto the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to observe <08104> to do <06213> all <03605> his commandments <04687> and his statutes <02708> which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>; that all <03605> these <0428> curses <07045> shall come <0935> upon thee, and overtake <05381> thee:

16 Cursed <0779> [shalt] thou [be] in the city <05892>, and cursed <0779> [shalt] thou [be] in the field <07704>.

17 Cursed <0779> [shall be] thy basket <02935> and thy store <04863>.

18 Cursed <0779> [shall be] the fruit <06529> of thy body <0990>, and the fruit <06529> of thy land <0127>, the increase <07698> of thy kine <0504>, and the flocks <06251> of thy sheep <06629>.

19 Cursed <0779> [shalt] thou [be] when thou comest <0935> in, and cursed <0779> [shalt] thou [be] when thou goest <03318> out.

20 The LORD <03068> shall send <07971> upon thee cursing <03994>, vexation <04103>, and rebuke <04045>, in all <03605> that thou settest <04916> thine hand <03027> unto for to do <06213>, until <05704> thou be destroyed <08045>, and until <05704> thou perish <06> quickly <04118>; because <06440> of the wickedness <07455> of thy doings <04611>, whereby <0834> thou hast forsaken <05800> me.

21 The LORD <03068> shall make the pestilence <01698> cleave <01692> unto thee, until <05704> he have consumed <03615> thee from off <05921> the land <0127>, whither thou goest <0935> to possess <03423> it.

22 The LORD <03068> shall smite <05221> thee with a consumption <07829>, and with a fever <06920>, and with an inflammation <01816>, and with an extreme <02746> burning <02746>, and with the sword <02719>, and with blasting <07711>, and with mildew <03420>; and they shall pursue <07291> thee until <05704> thou perish <06>.

23 And thy heaven <08064> that [is] over <05921> thy head <07218> shall be brass <05178>, and the earth <0776> that is under <08478> thee [shall be] iron <01270>.

24 The LORD <03068> shall make <05414> the rain <04306> of thy land <0776> powder <080> and dust <06083>: from heaven <08064> shall it come <03381> down <03381> upon thee, until <05704> thou be destroyed <08045>.

25 The LORD <03068> shall cause <05414> thee to be smitten <05062> before <06440> thine enemies <0341>: thou shalt go <03318> out one <0259> way <01870> against <0413> them, and flee <05127> seven <07651> ways <01870> before <06440> them: and shalt be removed <02189> into all <03605> the kingdoms <04467> of the earth <0776>.

26 And thy carcase <05038> shall be meat <03978> unto all <03605> fowls <05775> of the air <08064>, and unto the beasts <0929> of the earth <0776>, and no <0369> man shall fray <02729> [them] away.

27 The LORD <03068> will smite <05221> thee with the botch <07822> of Egypt <04714>, and with the emerods <06076>, and with the scab <01618>, and with the itch <02775>, whereof <0834> thou canst <03201> not be healed <07495>.

28 The LORD <03068> shall smite <05221> thee with madness <07697>, and blindness <05788>, and astonishment <08541> of heart <03824>:

29 And thou shalt grope <04959> at noonday <06672>, as the blind <05787> gropeth <04959> in darkness <0653>, and thou shalt not prosper <06743> in thy ways <01870>: and thou shalt be only <0389> oppressed <06231> and spoiled <01497> evermore, and no <0369> man shall save <03467> [thee].

30 Thou shalt betroth <0781> a wife <0802>, and another <0312> man <0376> shall lie <07693> with her: thou shalt build <01129> an house <01004>, and thou shalt not dwell <03427> therein: thou shalt plant <05193> a vineyard <03754>, and shalt not gather <02490> the grapes thereof.

31 Thine ox <07794> [shall be] slain <02873> before thine eyes <05869>, and thou shalt not eat <0398> thereof: thine ass <02543> [shall be] violently <01497> taken <01497> away from before thy face, and shall not be restored <07725> to thee: thy sheep <06629> [shall be] given <05414> unto thine enemies <0341>, and thou shalt have none <0369> to rescue <03467> [them].

32 Thy sons <01121> and thy daughters <01121> [shall be] given <05414> unto another <0312> people <05971>, and thine eyes <05869> shall look <07200>, and fail <03615> [with longing] for them all <03605> the day <03117> long: and [there shall be] no <0369> might <0410> in thine hand <03027>.

33 The fruit <06529> of thy land <0127>, and all <03605> thy labours <03018>, shall a nation <05971> which <0834> thou knowest <03045> not eat <0398> up; and thou shalt be only <0389> oppressed <06231> and crushed <07533> alway:

34 So that thou shalt be mad <07696> for the sight <04758> of thine eyes <05869> which <0834> thou shalt see <07200>.

35 The LORD <03068> shall smite <05221> thee in the knees <01290>, and in the legs <07785>, with a sore <07451> botch <07822> that cannot be healed <07495>, from the sole <03709> of thy foot <07272> unto the top <06936> of thy head <06936>.

36 The LORD <03068> shall bring <03212> thee, and thy king <04428> which <0834> thou shalt set <06965> over <05921> thee, unto a nation <01471> which neither <03808> thou nor thy fathers <01> have known <03045>; and there <08033> shalt thou serve <05647> other <0312> gods <0430>, wood <06086> and stone <068>.

37 And thou shalt become <01961> an astonishment <08047>, a proverb <04912>, and a byword <08148>, among all <03605> nations <05971> whither the LORD <03068> shall lead <05090> thee.

38 Thou shalt carry <03318> much <07227> seed <02233> out into the field <07704>, and shalt gather <0622> [but] little <04592> in; for the locust <0697> shall consume <02628> it.

39 Thou shalt plant <05193> vineyards <03754>, and dress <05647> [them], but shalt neither <03808> drink <08354> [of] the wine <03196>, nor <03808> gather <0103> [the grapes]; for the worms <08438> shall eat <0398> them.

40 Thou shalt have <01961> olive <02132> trees throughout all <03605> thy coasts <01366>, but thou shalt not anoint <05480> [thyself] with the oil <08081>; for thine olive <02132> shall cast <05394> [his fruit].

41 Thou shalt beget <03205> sons and daughters <01121>, but thou shalt not enjoy <01961> them; for they shall go <03212> into captivity <07628>.

42 All <03605> thy trees <06086> and fruit <06529> of thy land <0127> shall the locust <06767> consume <03423>.

43 The stranger <01616> that [is] within <07130> thee shall get <05927> up above <05921> thee very <04605> high <04605>; and thou shalt come <03381> down <03381> very <04295> low <04295>.

44 He shall lend <03867> to thee, and thou shalt not lend <03867> to him: he shall be the head <07218>, and thou shalt be the tail <02180>.

45. Moreover all <03605> these <0428> curses <07045> shall come <0935> upon thee, and shall pursue <07291> thee, and overtake <05381> thee, till <05704> thou be destroyed <08045>; because <03588> thou hearkenedst <08085> not unto the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to keep <08104> his commandments <04687> and his statutes <02708> which <0834> he commanded <06680> thee:

46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign <0226> and for a wonder <04159>, and upon thy seed <02233> for ever <05769>.

47 Because thou servedst <05647> not the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> with joyfulness <08057>, and with gladness <02898> of heart <03824>, for the abundance <07230> of all <03605> [things];

48 Therefore shalt thou serve <05647> thine enemies <0341> which <0834> the LORD <03068> shall send <07971> against thee, in hunger <07457>, and in thirst <06772>, and in nakedness <05903>, and in want <02640> of all <03605> [things]: and he shall put <05414> a yoke <05923> of iron <01270> upon thy neck <06677>, until <05704> he have <01961> destroyed <08045> thee.

49 The LORD <03068> shall bring <05375> a nation <01471> against <05921> thee from far <07350>, from the end <07097> of the earth <0776>, [as swift] as the eagle <05404> flieth <01675>; a nation <01471> whose <0834> tongue <03956> thou shalt not understand <08085>;

50 A nation <01471> of fierce <05794> countenance <06440>, which <0834> shall not regard <05375> the person <06440> of the old <02205>, nor <03808> shew favour <02603> to the young <05288>:

51 And he shall eat <0398> the fruit <06529> of thy cattle <0929>, and the fruit <06529> of thy land <0127>, until <05704> thou be destroyed <08045>: which <0834> [also] shall not leave <07604> thee [either] corn <01715>, wine <08492>, or oil <03323>, [or] the increase <07698> of thy kine <0504>, or flocks <06251> of thy sheep <06629>, until <05704> he have destroyed <06> thee.

52 And he shall besiege <06887> thee in all <03605> thy gates <08179>, until <05704> thy high <01364> and fenced <01219> walls <02346> come <03381> down <03381>, wherein thou trustedst <0982>, throughout all <03605> thy land <0776>: and he shall besiege <06887> thee in all <03605> thy gates <08179> throughout all <03605> thy land <0776>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath given <05414> thee.

53 And thou shalt eat <0398> the fruit <06529> of thine own body <0990>, the flesh <01320> of thy sons <01121> and of thy daughters <01121>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath given <05414> thee, in the siege <04692>, and in the straitness <04689>, wherewith <0834> thine enemies <0341> shall distress <06693> thee:

54 [So that] the man <0376> [that is] tender <07390> among you, and very <03966> delicate <06028>, his eye <05869> shall be evil <07489> toward his brother <0251>, and toward the wife <0802> of his bosom <02436>, and toward the remnant <03499> of his children <01121> which <0834> he shall leave <03498>:

55 So that he will not give <05414> to any <0259> of them of the flesh <01320> of his children <01121> whom <0834> he shall eat <0398>: because he hath nothing <03605> left <07604> him in the siege <04692>, and in the straitness <04689>, wherewith <0834> thine enemies <0341> shall distress <06693> thee in all <03605> thy gates <08179>.

56 The tender <07390> and delicate <06028> woman among you, which <0834> would not adventure <05254> to set <03322> the sole <03709> of her foot <07272> upon the ground <0776> for delicateness <06026> and tenderness <07391>, her eye <05869> shall be evil <07489> toward the husband <0376> of her bosom <02436>, and toward her son <01121>, and toward her daughter <01323>,

57 And toward her young <07988> one that cometh <03318> out from between <0996> her feet <07272>, and toward her children <01121> which <0834> she shall bear <03205>: for she shall eat <0398> them for want <02640> of all <03605> [things] secretly <05643> in the siege <04692> and straitness <04689>, wherewith <0834> thine enemy <0341> shall distress <06693> thee in thy gates <08179>.

58 If <0518> thou wilt not observe <08104> to do <06213> all <03605> the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451> that are written <03789> in this <02088> book <05612>, that thou mayest fear <03372> this <02088> glorious <03513> and fearful <03372> name <08034>, THE LORD <03068> THY GOD <0430>;

59 Then the LORD <03068> will make <06381> thy plagues <04347> wonderful <06381>, and the plagues <04347> of thy seed <02233>, [even] great <01419> plagues <04347>, and of long continuance <0539>, and sore <07451> sicknesses <02483>, and of long continuance <0539>.

60 Moreover he will bring <07725> upon thee all <03605> the diseases <04064> of Egypt <04714>, which <0834> thou wast afraid <03025> of; and they shall cleave <01692> unto thee.

61 Also <01571> every <03605> sickness <02483>, and every <03605> plague <04347>, which <0834> [is] not written <03789> in the book <05612> of this <02063> law <08451>, them will the LORD <03068> bring <05927> upon thee, until <05704> thou be destroyed <08045>.

62 And ye shall be left <07604> few <04592> in number, whereas <0834> ye were as the stars <03556> of heaven <08064> for multitude <07230>; because <03588> thou wouldest not obey <08085> the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>.

63 And it shall come <01961> to pass, [that] as the LORD <03068> rejoiced <07797> over <05921> you to do you good <03190>, and to multiply <07235> you; so <03651> the LORD <03068> will rejoice <07797> over <05921> you to destroy <06> you, and to bring <08045> you to nought <08045>; and ye shall be plucked <05255> from off <05921> the land <0127> whither thou goest <0935> to possess <03423> it.

64 And the LORD <03068> shall scatter <06327> thee among all <03605> people <05971>, from the one <0259> end <07097> of the earth <0776> even unto the other; and there <08033> thou shalt serve <05647> other <0312> gods <0430>, which <0834> neither <03808> thou nor thy fathers <01> have known <03045>, [even] wood <06086> and stone <068>.

65 And among these <01992> nations <01471> shalt thou find no <03808> ease <07280>, neither <03808> shall the sole <03709> of thy foot <07272> have <01961> rest <04494>: but the LORD <03068> shall give <05414> thee there <08033> a trembling <07268> heart <03820>, and failing <03631> of eyes <05869>, and sorrow <01671> of mind <05315>:

66 And thy life <02416> shall hang <08511> in doubt before <05048> thee; and thou shalt fear <06342> day <03119> and night <03915>, and shalt have none <03808> assurance <0539> of thy life <02416>:

67 In the morning <01242> thou shalt say <0559>, Would God it were even <06153>! and at even <06153> thou shalt say <0559>, Would God it were morning <01242>! for the fear <06343> of thine heart <03824> wherewith <0834> thou shalt fear <06342>, and for the sight <04758> of thine eyes <05869> which <0834> thou shalt see <07200>.

68 And the LORD <03068> shall bring <07725> thee into Egypt <04714> again <07725> with ships <0591>, by the way <01870> whereof <0834> I spake <0559> unto thee, Thou shalt see <07200> it no <03808> more <05750> again <03254>: and there <08033> ye shall be sold <04376> unto your enemies <0341> for bondmen <05650> and bondwomen <08198>, and no <0369> man shall buy <07069> [you].

Deuteronomy 29

1. These <0428> [are] the words <01697> of the covenant <01285>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> commanded <06680> Moses <04872> to make <03772> with the children <01121> of Israel <03478> in the land <0776> of Moab <04124>, beside <0905> the covenant <01285> which <0834> he made <03772> with them in Horeb <02722>.

2 And Moses <04872> called <07121> unto all <03605> Israel <03478>, and said <0559> unto them, Ye have seen <07200> all <03605> that the LORD <03068> did <06213> before your eyes <05869> in the land <0776> of Egypt <04714> unto Pharaoh <06547>, and unto all <03605> his servants <05650>, and unto all <03605> his land <0776>;

3 The great <01419> temptations <04531> which <0834> thine eyes <05869> have seen <07200>, the signs <0226>, and those <01992> great <01419> miracles <04159>:

4 Yet the LORD <03068> hath not given <05414> you an heart <03820> to perceive <03045>, and eyes <05869> to see <07200>, and ears <0241> to hear <08085>, unto this <02088> day <03117>.

5 And I have led <03212> you forty <0705> years <08141> in the wilderness <04057>: your clothes <08008> are not waxen old <01086> upon you, and thy shoe <05275> is not waxen old <01086> upon thy foot <07272>.

6 Ye have not eaten <0398> bread <03899>, neither <03808> have ye drunk <08354> wine <03196> or strong drink <07941>: that ye might know <03045> that I [am] the LORD <03068> your God <0430>.

7 And when ye came <0935> unto this <02088> place <04725>, Sihon <05511> the king <04428> of Heshbon <02809>, and Og <05747> the king <04428> of Bashan <01316>, came <03318> out against <07125> us unto battle <04421>, and we smote <05221> them:

8 And we took <03947> their land <0776>, and gave <05414> it for an inheritance <05159> unto the Reubenites <07206>, and to the Gadites <01425>, and to the half <02677> tribe <07626> of Manasseh <04520>.

9 Keep <08104> therefore the words <01697> of this <02063> covenant <01285>, and do <06213> them, that ye may prosper <07919> in all <03605> that ye do <06213>.

10. Ye stand <05324> this day <03117> all <03605> of you before <06440> the LORD <03068> your God <0430>; your captains <07218> of your tribes <07626>, your elders <02205>, and your officers <07860>, [with] all <03605> the men <0376> of Israel <03478>,

11 Your little <02945> ones, your wives <0802>, and thy stranger <01616> that [is] in thy camp <04264>, from the hewer <02404> of thy wood <06086> unto the drawer <07579> of thy water <04325>:

12 That thou shouldest enter <05674> into covenant <01285> with the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and into his oath <0423>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> maketh <03772> with thee this day <03117>:

13 That he may establish <06965> thee to day <03117> for a people <05971> unto himself, and [that] he may be unto thee a God <0430>, as he hath said <01696> unto thee, and as he hath sworn <07650> unto thy fathers <01>, to Abraham <085>, to Isaac <03327>, and to Jacob <03290>.

14 Neither <03808> with you only <0905> do I make <03772> this <02063> covenant <01285> and this oath <0423>;

15 But with [him] that standeth <05975> here <06311> with us this day <03117> before <06440> the LORD <03068> our God <0430>, and also with [him] that [is] not here <06311> with us this day <03117>:

16 (For ye know <03045> how <0834> we have dwelt <03427> in the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>; and how <0834> we came <05674> through <07130> the nations <01471> which <0834> ye passed <05674> by;

17 And ye have seen <07200> their abominations <08251>, and their idols <01544>, wood <06086> and stone <068>, silver <03701> and gold <02091>, which <0834> [were] among them:)

18 Lest <06435> there should be among you man <0376>, or <0176> woman <0802>, or <0176> family <04940>, or <0176> tribe <07626>, whose <0834> heart <03824> turneth <06437> away <05493> this <02063> day <03117> from the LORD <03068> our God <0430>, to go <03212> [and] serve <05647> the gods <0430> of these <01992> nations <01471>; lest <06435> there should be among you a root <08328> that beareth <06509> gall <07219> and wormwood <03939>;

19 And it come <01961> to pass, when he heareth <08085> the words <01697> of this <02063> curse <0423>, that he bless <01288> himself in his heart <03824>, saying <0559>, I shall have peace <07965>, though <03588> I walk <03212> in the imagination <08307> of mine heart <03820>, to add <05595> drunkenness <07302> to thirst <06771>:

20 The LORD <03068> will not spare <05545> him, but then <0227> the anger <0639> of the LORD <03068> and his jealousy <07068> shall smoke <06225> against that man <0376>, and all <03605> the curses <0423> that are written <03789> in this <02088> book <05612> shall lie <07257> upon him, and the LORD <03068> shall blot <04229> out his name <08034> from under <08478> heaven <08064>.

21 And the LORD <03068> shall separate <0914> him unto evil <07451> out of all <03605> the tribes <07626> of Israel <03478>, according to all <03605> the curses <0423> of the covenant <01285> that are written <03789> in this <02088> book <05612> of the law <08451>:

22 So that the generation <01755> to come <0314> of your children <01121> that shall rise <06965> up after <0310> you, and the stranger <05237> that shall come <0935> from a far <07350> land <0776>, shall say <0559>, when they see <07200> the plagues <04347> of that land <0776>, and the sicknesses <08463> which <0834> the LORD <03068> hath laid <02470> upon it;

23 [And that] the whole <03605> land <0776> thereof [is] brimstone <01614>, and salt <04417>, [and] burning <08316>, [that] it is not sown <02232>, nor <03808> beareth <06779>, nor <03808> any <03605> grass <06212> groweth <05927> therein, like the overthrow <04114> of Sodom <05467>, and Gomorrah <06017>, Admah <0126>, and Zeboim <06636>, which <0834> the LORD <03068> overthrew <02015> in his anger <0639>, and in his wrath <02534>:

24 Even all <03605> nations <01471> shall say <0559>, Wherefore hath the LORD <03068> done <06213> thus <03662> unto this <02063> land <0776>? what <04100> [meaneth] the heat <02750> of this <02088> great <01419> anger <0639>?

25 Then men shall say <0559>, Because they have forsaken <05800> the covenant <01285> of the LORD <03068> God <0430> of their fathers <01>, which <0834> he made <03772> with them when he brought <03318> them forth <03318> out of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>:

26 For they went <03212> and served <05647> other <0312> gods <0430>, and worshipped <07812> them, gods <0430> whom <0834> they knew <03045> not, and [whom <0834>] he had not given <02505> unto them:

27 And the anger <0639> of the LORD <03068> was kindled <02734> against this <01931> land <0776>, to bring <0935> upon it all <03605> the curses <07045> that are written <03789> in this <02088> book <05612>:

28 And the LORD <03068> rooted <05428> them out of their land <0127> in anger <0639>, and in wrath <02534>, and in great <01419> indignation <07110>, and cast <07993> them into <0413> another <0312> land <0776>, as [it is] this <02088> day <03117>.

29 The secret <05641> [things belong] unto the LORD <03068> our God <0430>: but those [things which are] revealed <01540> [belong] unto us and to our children <01121> for ever <05769>, that [we] may do <06213> all <03605> the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451>.

Deuteronomy 30

1. And it shall come <01961> to pass, when <03588> all <03605> these <0428> things <01697> are come <0935> upon thee, the blessing <01293> and the curse <07045>, which <0834> I have set <05414> before <06440> thee, and thou shalt call <07725> [them] to mind <03824> among all <03605> the nations <01471>, whither the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath driven <05080> thee,

2 And shalt return <07725> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, and shalt obey <08085> his voice <06963> according to all <03605> that I command <06680> thee this day <03117>, thou and thy children <01121>, with all <03605> thine heart <03824>, and with all <03605> thy soul <05315>;

3 That then the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> will turn <07725> thy captivity <07622>, and have compassion <07355> upon thee, and will return <07725> and gather <06908> thee from all <03605> the nations <05971>, whither the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> hath scattered <06327> thee.

4 If <0518> [any] of thine be driven <05080> out unto the outmost <07097> [parts] of heaven <08064>, from thence <08033> will the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> gather <06908> thee, and from thence <08033> will he fetch <03947> thee:

5 And the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> will bring <0935> thee into <0413> the land <0776> which <0834> thy fathers <01> possessed <03423>, and thou shalt possess <03423> it; and he will do thee good <03190>, and multiply <07235> thee above thy fathers <01>.

6 And the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> will circumcise <04135> thine heart <03824>, and the heart <03824> of thy seed <02233>, to love <0157> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> with all <03605> thine heart <03824>, and with all <03605> thy soul <05315>, that thou mayest live <02416>.

7 And the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> will put <05414> all <03605> these <0428> curses <0423> upon thine enemies <0341>, and on <05921> them that hate <08130> thee, which <0834> persecuted <07291> thee.

8 And thou shalt return <07725> and obey <08085> the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068>, and do <06213> all <03605> his commandments <04687> which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>.

9 And the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> will make thee plenteous <03498> in every <03605> work <04639> of thine hand <03027>, in the fruit <06529> of thy body <0990>, and in the fruit <06529> of thy cattle <0929>, and in the fruit <06529> of thy land <0127>, for good <02896>: for the LORD <03068> will again <07725> rejoice <07797> over <05921> thee for good <02896>, as he rejoiced <07797> over <05921> thy fathers <01>:

10 If <03588> thou shalt hearken <08085> unto the voice <06963> of the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to keep <08104> his commandments <04687> and his statutes <02708> which are written <03789> in this <02088> book <05612> of the law <08451>, [and] if <03588> thou turn <07725> unto the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> with all <03605> thine heart <03824>, and with all <03605> thy soul <05315>.

11. For this <02063> commandment <04687> which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117>, it [is] not hidden <06381> from thee, neither <03808> [is] it far <07350> off.

12 It [is] not in heaven <08064>, that thou shouldest say <0559>, Who <04310> shall go <05927> up for us to heaven <08064>, and bring <03947> it unto us, that we may hear <08085> it, and do <06213> it?

13 Neither <03808> [is] it beyond <05676> the sea <03220>, that thou shouldest say <0559>, Who <04310> shall go <05674> over <05674> the sea <03220> for us, and bring <03947> it unto us, that we may hear <08085> it, and do <06213> it?

14 But the word <01697> [is] very <03966> nigh <07126> unto thee, in thy mouth <06310>, and in thy heart <03824>, that thou mayest do <06213> it.

15. See <07200>, I have set <05414> before <06440> thee this day <03117> life <02416> and good <02896>, and death <04194> and evil <07451>;

16 In that I command <06680> thee this day <03117> to love <0157> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to walk <03212> in his ways <01870>, and to keep <08104> his commandments <04687> and his statutes <02708> and his judgments <04941>, that thou mayest live <02421> and multiply <07235>: and the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> shall bless <01288> thee in the land <0776> whither thou goest <0935> to possess <03423> it.

17 But if thine heart <03824> turn <06437> away, so that thou wilt not hear <08085>, but shalt be drawn <05080> away, and worship <07812> other <0312> gods <0430>, and serve <05647> them;

18 I denounce <05046> unto you this day <03117>, that ye shall surely <03588> perish <06>, [and that] ye shall not prolong <0748> [your] days <03117> upon the land <0127>, whither thou passest <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383> to go <0935> to possess <03423> it.

19 I call <05749> heaven <08064> and earth <0776> to record <05749> this day <03117> against you, [that] I have set <05414> before <06440> you life <02416> and death <04194>, blessing <01293> and cursing <07045>: therefore choose <0977> life <02416>, that both thou and thy seed <02233> may live <02421>:

20 That thou mayest love <0157> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, [and] that thou mayest obey <08085> his voice <06963>, and that thou mayest cleave <01692> unto him: for he [is] thy life <02416>, and the length <0753> of thy days <03117>: that thou mayest dwell <03427> in the land <0127> which <0834> the LORD <03068> sware <07650> unto thy fathers <01>, to Abraham <085>, to Isaac <03327>, and to Jacob <03290>, to give <05414> them.

Deuteronomy 31

1. And Moses <04872> went <03212> and spake <01696> these <0428> words <01697> unto all <03605> Israel <03478>.

2 And he said <0559> unto them, I [am] an hundred <03967> and twenty <06242> years <08141> old <01121> this day <03117>; I can <03201> no <03808> more <05750> go <03318> out and come <0935> in: also the LORD <03068> hath said <0559> unto me, Thou shalt not go <05674> over <05674> this <02088> Jordan <03383>.

3 The LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, he will go <05674> over <05674> before <06440> thee, [and] he will destroy <08045> these <0428> nations <01471> from before <06440> thee, and thou shalt possess <03423> them: [and] Joshua <03091>, he shall go <05674> over <05674> before <06440> thee, as the LORD <03068> hath said <01696>.

4 And the LORD <03068> shall do <06213> unto them as he did <06213> to Sihon <05511> and to Og <05747>, kings <04428> of the Amorites <0567>, and unto the land <0776> of them, whom he destroyed <08045>.

5 And the LORD <03068> shall give <05414> them up before your face, that ye may do <06213> unto them according unto all <03605> the commandments <04687> which <0834> I have commanded <06680> you.

6 Be strong <02388> and of a good courage <0553>, fear <03372> not, nor <0408> be afraid <06206> of them: for the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, he [it is] that doth go <01980> with thee; he will not fail <07503> thee, nor <03808> forsake <05800> thee.

7 And Moses <04872> called <07121> unto Joshua <03091>, and said <0559> unto him in the sight <05869> of all <03605> Israel <03478>, Be strong <02388> and of a good courage <0553>: for thou must go <0935> with this <02088> people <05971> unto the land <0776> which <0834> the LORD <03068> hath sworn <07650> unto their fathers <01> to give <05414> them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit <05157> it.

8 And the LORD <03068>, he [it is] that doth go <01980> before <06440> thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail <07503> thee, neither <03808> forsake <05800> thee: fear <03372> not, neither <03808> be dismayed <02865>.

9. And Moses <04872> wrote <03789> this <02063> law <08451>, and delivered <05414> it unto the priests <03548> the sons <01121> of Levi <03878>, which bare <05375> the ark <0727> of the covenant <01285> of the LORD <03068>, and unto all <03605> the elders <02205> of Israel <03478>.

10 And Moses <04872> commanded <06680> them, saying <0559>, At the end <07093> of [every] seven <07651> years <08141>, in the solemnity <04150> of the year <08141> of release <08059>, in the feast <02282> of tabernacles <05521>,

11 When all <03605> Israel <03478> is come <0935> to appear <07200> before the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> in the place <04725> which <0834> he shall choose <0977>, thou shalt read <07121> this <02063> law <08451> before <05048> all <03605> Israel <03478> in their hearing <0241>.

12 Gather <06950> the people <05971> together, men <0582>, and women <0802>, and children <02945>, and thy stranger <01616> that [is] within thy gates <08179>, that they may hear <08085>, and that they may learn <03925>, and fear <03372> the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, and observe <08104> to do <06213> all <03605> the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451>:

13 And [that] their children <01121>, which <0834> have not known <03045> [any thing], may hear <08085>, and learn <03925> to fear <03372> the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, as long <03117> as ye live <02416> in the land <0127> whither ye go <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383> to possess <03423> it.

14. And the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto Moses <04872>, Behold <02005>, thy days <03117> approach <07126> that thou must die <04191>: call <07121> Joshua <03091>, and present <03320> yourselves in the tabernacle <0168> of the congregation <04150>, that I may give him a charge <06680>. And Moses <04872> and Joshua <03091> went <03212>, and presented <03320> themselves in the tabernacle <0168> of the congregation <04150>.

15 And the LORD <03068> appeared <07200> in the tabernacle <0168> in a pillar <05982> of a cloud <06051>: and the pillar <05982> of the cloud <06051> stood <05975> over <05921> the door <06607> of the tabernacle <0168>.

16 And the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto Moses <04872>, Behold <02009>, thou shalt sleep <07901> with thy fathers <01>; and this <02088> people <05971> will rise <06965> up, and go a whoring <02181> after <0310> the gods <0430> of the strangers <05236> of the land <0776>, whither they go <0935> [to be] among <07130> them, and will forsake <05800> me, and break <06565> my covenant <01285> which <0834> I have made <03772> with them.

17 Then my anger <0639> shall be kindled <02734> against them in that day <03117>, and I will forsake <05800> them, and I will hide <05641> my face <06440> from them, and they shall be devoured <0398>, and many <07227> evils <07451> and troubles <06869> shall befall <04672> them; so that they will say <0559> in that day <03117>, Are not these <0428> evils <07451> come <04672> upon us, because <03588> our God <0430> [is] not among <07130> us?

18 And I will surely hide <05641> my face <06440> in that day <03117> for all <03605> the evils <07451> which <0834> they shall have wrought <06213>, in that they are turned <06437> unto other <0312> gods <0430>.

19 Now <06258> therefore write <03789> ye this <02063> song <07892> for you, and teach <03925> it the children <01121> of Israel <03478>: put <07760> it in their mouths <06310>, that this <02063> song <07892> may be a witness <05707> for me against the children <01121> of Israel <03478>.

20 For when <03588> I shall have brought <0935> them into <0413> the land <0127> which <0834> I sware <07650> unto their fathers <01>, that floweth <02100> with milk <02461> and honey <01706>; and they shall have eaten <0398> and filled <07646> themselves, and waxen fat <01878>; then will they turn <06437> unto other <0312> gods <0430>, and serve <05647> them, and provoke <05006> me, and break <06565> my covenant <01285>.

21 And it shall come <01961> to pass, when <03588> many <07227> evils <07451> and troubles <06869> are befallen <04672> them, that this <02063> song <07892> shall testify <06030> against <06440> them as a witness <05707>; for it shall not be forgotten <07911> out of the mouths <06310> of their seed <02233>: for I know <03045> their imagination <03336> which <0834> they go <06213> about <06213>, even now <03117>, before <02962> I have brought <0935> them into <0413> the land <0776> which <0834> I sware <07650>.

22. Moses <04872> therefore wrote <03789> this <02063> song <07892> the same <01931> day <03117>, and taught <03925> it the children <01121> of Israel <03478>.

23 And he gave Joshua <03091> the son <01121> of Nun <05126> a charge <06680>, and said <0559>, Be strong <02388> and of a good courage <0553>: for thou shalt bring <0935> the children <01121> of Israel <03478> into <0413> the land <0776> which <0834> I sware <07650> unto them: and I will be with thee.

24 And it came <01961> to pass, when Moses <04872> had made an end <03615> of writing <03789> the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451> in a book <05612>, until <05704> they were finished <08552>,

25 That Moses <04872> commanded <06680> the Levites <03881>, which <0834> bare <05375> the ark <0727> of the covenant <01285> of the LORD <03068>, saying <0559>,

26 Take <03947> this <02088> book <05612> of the law <08451>, and put <07760> it in the side <06654> of the ark <0727> of the covenant <01285> of the LORD <03068> your God <0430>, that it may be there <08033> for a witness <05707> against thee.

27 For I know <03045> thy rebellion <04805>, and thy stiff <07186> neck <06203>: behold <02005>, while I am yet <05750> alive <02416> with you this day <03117>, ye have been <01961> rebellious <04784> against <05973> the LORD <03068>; and how <0637> much <07227> more after <0310> my death <04194>?

28 Gather <06950> unto me all <03605> the elders <02205> of your tribes <07626>, and your officers <07860>, that I may speak <01696> these <0428> words <01697> in their ears <0241>, and call <05749> heaven <08064> and earth <0776> to record <05749> against them.

29 For I know <03045> that after <0310> my death <04194> ye will utterly corrupt <07843> [yourselves], and turn <05493> aside from the way <01870> which <0834> I have commanded <06680> you; and evil <07451> will befall <07122> you in the latter <0319> days <03117>; because <03588> ye will do <06213> evil <07451> in the sight <05869> of the LORD <03068>, to provoke him to anger <03707> through the work <04639> of your hands <03027>.

30 And Moses <04872> spake <01696> in the ears <0241> of all <03605> the congregation <04150> of Israel <03478> the words <01697> of this <02063> song <07892>, until <05704> they were ended <08552>.

Deuteronomy 32

1. Give ear <0238>, O ye heavens <08064>, and I will speak <01696>; and hear <08085>, O earth <0776>, the words <0561> of my mouth <06310>.

2 My doctrine <03948> shall drop <06201> as the rain <04306>, my speech <0565> shall distil <05140> as the dew <02919>, as the small rain <08164> upon the tender herb <01877>, and as the showers <07241> upon the grass <06212>:

3 Because <03588> I will publish <07121> the name <08034> of the LORD <03068>: ascribe <03051> ye greatness <01433> unto our God <0430>.

4 [He is] the Rock <06697>, his work <06467> [is] perfect <08549>: for all <03605> his ways <01870> [are] judgment <04941>: a God <0410> of truth <0530> and without <0369> iniquity <05766>, just <06662> and right <03477> [is] he.

5 They have corrupted <07843> themselves, their spot <03971> [is] not [the spot] of his children <01121>: [they are] a perverse <06141> and crooked <06618> generation <01755>.

6 Do ye thus <02063> requite <01580> the LORD <03068>, O foolish <05036> people <05971> and unwise? [is] not he thy father <01> [that] hath bought <07069> thee? hath he not made <06213> thee, and established <03559> thee?

7. Remember <02142> the days <03117> of old <05769>, consider <0995> the years <08141> of many generations <01755>: ask <07592> thy father <01>, and he will shew <05046> thee; thy elders <02205>, and they will tell <0559> thee.

8 When the most <06944> High <05945> divided to the nations <01471> their inheritance <05157>, when he separated <06504> the sons <01121> of Adam <0120>, he set <05324> the bounds <01367> of the people <05971> according to the number <04557> of the children <01121> of Israel <03478>.

9 For the LORD'S <03068> portion <02506> [is] his people <05971>; Jacob <03290> [is] the lot <02256> of his inheritance <05159>.

10 He found <04672> him in a desert <04057> land <0776>, and in the waste <08414> howling <03214> wilderness <03452>; he led <05437> him about <05437>, he instructed <0995> him, he kept <05341> him as the apple <0380> of his eye <05869>.

11 As an eagle <05404> stirreth <05782> up her nest <07064>, fluttereth <07363> over <05921> her young <01469>, spreadeth <06566> abroad <06566> her wings <03671>, taketh <03947> them, beareth <05375> them on <05921> her wings <084>:

12 [So <03651>] the LORD <03068> alone <0909> did lead <05148> him, and [there was] no <0369> strange <05236> god <0410> with him.

14 Butter <02529> of kine <01241>, and milk <02461> of sheep <06629>, with fat <02459> of lambs <03733>, and rams <0352> of the breed <01121> of Bashan <01316>, and goats <06260>, with the fat <02459> of kidneys <03629> of wheat <02406>; and thou didst drink <08354> the pure <02561> blood <01818> of the grape <06025>.

15. But Jeshurun <03484> waxed fat <08080>, and kicked <01163>: thou art waxen fat <08080>, thou art grown thick <05666>, thou art covered <03780> [with fatness]; then he forsook <05203> God <0433> [which] made <06213> him, and lightly <05034> esteemed <05034> the Rock <06697> of his salvation <03444>.

16 They provoked <03707> him to jealousy <07065> with strange <02114> [gods], with abominations <08441> provoked they him to anger <03707>.

17 They sacrificed <02076> unto devils <07700>, not to God <0433>; to gods <0430> whom they knew <03045> not, to new <02319> [gods that] came <0935> newly <07138> up, whom your fathers <01> feared <08175> not.

18 Of the Rock <06697> [that] begat <03205> thee thou art unmindful <07876>, and hast forgotten <07911> God <0410> that formed <02342> thee.

19. And when the LORD <03068> saw <07200> [it], he abhorred <05006> [them], because of the provoking <03707> of his sons <01121>, and of his daughters <01121>.

20 And he said <0559>, I will hide <05641> my face <06440> from them, I will see <07200> what <04100> their end <0319> [shall be]: for they [are] a very froward <08419> generation <01755>, children <01121> in whom [is] no <03808> faith <0529>.

21 They have moved me to jealousy <07065> with [that which is] not God <0410>; they have provoked me to anger <03707> with their vanities <01892>: and I will move them to jealousy <07065> with [those which are] not a people <05971>; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish <05036> nation <01471>.

22 For a fire <0784> is kindled <06919> in mine anger <0639>, and shall burn <03344> unto the lowest <08482> hell <07585>, and shall consume <0398> the earth <0776> with her increase <02981>, and set on fire <03857> the foundations <04146> of the mountains <02022>.

23 I will heap <05595> mischiefs <07451> upon them; I will spend <03615> mine arrows <02671> upon them.

24 [They shall be] burnt <04198> with hunger <07457>, and devoured <03898> with burning heat <07565>, and with bitter <04815> destruction <06986>: I will also send <07971> the teeth <08127> of beasts <0929> upon them, with the poison <02534> of serpents <02119> of the dust <06083>.

25 The sword <02719> without <02351>, and terror <0367> within <02315>, shall destroy <07921> both <01571> the young <0970> man and the virgin <01330>, the suckling <03243> [also] with the man <0376> of gray <07872> hairs.

26. I said <0559>, I would scatter <06284> them into corners <06284>, I would make the remembrance <02143> of them to cease <07673> from among men <0582>:

27 Were it not that I feared <01481> the wrath <03708> of the enemy <0341>, lest <06435> their adversaries <06862> should behave <05234> themselves strangely <05234>, [and] lest <06435> they should say <0559>, Our hand <03027> [is] high <07311>, and the LORD <03068> hath not done <06466> all <03605> this <02063>.

28 For they [are] a nation <01471> void <06> of counsel <06098>, neither <0369> [is there any] understanding <08394> in them.

29 O that they were wise <02449>, [that] they understood <07919> this <02063>, [that] they would consider <0995> their latter <0319> end!

30 How <0349> should one <0259> chase <07291> a thousand <0505>, and two <08147> put ten <07233> thousand <0505> to flight <05127>, except their Rock <06697> had sold <04376> them, and the LORD <03068> had shut <05462> them up?

31 For their rock <06697> [is] not as our Rock <06697>, even our enemies <0341> themselves [being] judges <06414>.

32 For their vine <01612> [is] of the vine <01612> of Sodom <05467>, and of the fields <07709> of Gomorrah <06017>: their grapes <06025> [are] grapes <06025> of gall <07219>, their clusters <0811> [are] bitter <04846>:

33 Their wine <03196> [is] the poison <02534> of dragons <08577>, and the cruel <0393> venom <07219> of asps <06620>.

34 [Is] not this <01931> laid <03647> up in store with me, [and] sealed <02856> up among my treasures <0214>?

35 To me [belongeth] vengeance <05359>, and recompence <08005>; their foot <07272> shall slide <04131> in [due] time <06256>: for the day <03117> of their calamity <0343> [is] at <07138> hand <07138>, and the things that shall come <06264> upon them make haste <02363>.

36 For the LORD <03068> shall judge <01777> his people <05971>, and repent <05162> himself for his servants <05650>, when <03588> he seeth <07200> that [their] power <03027> is gone <0235>, and [there is] none <0657> shut <06113> up, or left <05800>.

37 And he shall say <0559>, Where <0335> [are] their gods <0430>, [their] rock <06697> in whom they trusted <02620>,

38 Which <0834> did eat <0398> the fat <02459> of their sacrifices <02077>, [and] drank <08354> the wine <03196> of their drink <05257> offerings? let them rise <06965> up and help <05826> you, [and] be your protection <05643>.

39. See <07200> now <06258> that I, [even] I, [am] he, and [there is] no <0369> god <0430> with me: I kill <04191>, and I make alive <02421>; I wound <04272>, and I heal <07495>: neither <0369> [is there any] that can deliver <05337> out of my hand <03027>.

40 For I lift <05375> up my hand <03027> to heaven <08064>, and say <0559>, I live <02416> for ever <05769>.

41 If <0518> I whet <08150> my glittering <01300> sword <02719>, and mine hand <03027> take <0270> hold <0270> on judgment <04941>; I will render <07725> vengeance <05359> to mine enemies <06862>, and will reward <07999> them that hate <08130> me.

42 I will make mine arrows <02671> drunk <07937> with blood <01818>, and my sword <02719> shall devour <0398> flesh <01320>; [and that] with the blood <01818> of the slain <02491> and of the captives <07633>, from the beginning <07218> of revenges <06546> upon the enemy <0341>.

43 Rejoice <07442>, O ye nations <01471>, [with] his people <05971>: for he will avenge <05358> the blood <01818> of his servants <05650>, and will render <07725> vengeance <05359> to his adversaries <06862>, and will be merciful <03722> unto his land <0127>, [and] to his people <05971>.

44. And Moses <04872> came <0935> and spake <01696> all <03605> the words <01697> of this <02063> song <07892> in the ears <0241> of the people <05971>, he, and Hoshea <01954> the son <01121> of Nun <05126>.

45 And Moses <04872> made an end <03615> of speaking <01696> all <03605> these <0428> words <01697> to all <03605> Israel <03478>:

46 And he said <0559> unto them, Set <07760> your hearts <03824> unto all <03605> the words <01697> which <0834> I testify <05749> among you this <02063> day <03117>, which <0834> ye shall command <06680> your children <01121> to observe <08104> to do <06213>, all <03605> the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451>.

47 For it [is] not a vain <07386> thing <01697> for you; because <03588> it [is] your life <02416>: and through this <02088> thing <01697> ye shall prolong <0748> [your] days <03117> in the land <0127>, whither ye go <05674> over <05674> Jordan <03383> to possess <03423> it.

48 And the LORD <03068> spake <01696> unto Moses <04872> that selfsame day <03117>, saying <0559>,

49 Get <05927> thee up into <0413> this <02088> mountain <02022> Abarim <05682>, [unto] mount <02022> Nebo <05015>, which <0834> [is] in the land <0776> of Moab <04124>, that [is] over against <06440> Jericho <03405>; and behold <07200> the land <0776> of Canaan <03667>, which <0834> I give <05414> unto the children <01121> of Israel <03478> for a possession <0272>:

50 And die <04191> in the mount <02022> whither thou goest <05927> up, and be gathered <0622> unto thy people <05971>; as Aaron <0175> thy brother <0251> died <04191> in mount <02022> Hor <02023>, and was gathered <0622> unto his people <05971>:

51 Because ye trespassed <04603> against me among <08432> the children <01121> of Israel <03478> at the waters <04325> of Meribahkadesh, in the wilderness <04057> of Zin <06790>; because <03588> ye sanctified <06942> me not in the midst <08432> of the children <01121> of Israel <03478>.

52 Yet <03588> thou shalt see <07200> the land <0776> before <05048> [thee]; but thou shalt not go <0935> thither <08033> unto the land <0776> which <0834> I give <05414> the children <01121> of Israel <03478>.

Deuteronomy 33

1. And this <02063> [is] the blessing <01293>, wherewith <0834> Moses <04872> the man <0376> of God <0430> blessed <01288> the children <01121> of Israel <03478> before <06440> his death <04194>.

2 And he said <0559>, The LORD <03068> came <0935> from Sinai <05514>, and rose <02224> up from Seir <08165> unto them; he shined <03313> forth from mount <02022> Paran <06290>, and he came <0857> with ten <07233> thousands <07233> of saints <06944>: from his right <03225> hand <03225> [went] a fiery <0799> law <01881> for them.

3 Yea <0637>, he loved <02245> the people <05971>; all <03605> his saints <06918> [are] in thy hand <03027>: and they sat <08497> down <08497> at thy feet <07272>; [every one] shall receive <05375> of thy words <01703>.

4 Moses <04872> commanded <06680> us a law <08451>, [even] the inheritance <04181> of the congregation <06952> of Jacob <03290>.

5 And he was king <04428> in Jeshurun <03484>, when the heads <07218> of the people <05971> [and] the tribes <07626> of Israel <03478> were gathered <0622> together <03162>.

6. Let Reuben <07205> live <02421>, and not die <04191>; and let [not] his men <04962> be few <04557>.

7 And this <02063> [is the blessing] of Judah <03063>: and he said <0559>, Hear <08085>, LORD <03068>, the voice <06963> of Judah <03063>, and bring <0935> him unto his people <05971>: let his hands <03027> be sufficient <07227> for him; and be thou an help <05828> [to him] from his enemies <06862>.

8. And of Levi <03878> he said <0559>, [Let] thy Thummim <08550> and thy Urim <0224> [be] with thy holy <02623> one, whom <0834> thou didst prove <05254> at <05921> Massah <04532>, [and with] whom thou didst strive <07378> at the waters <04325> of Meribah <04809>;

9 Who said <0559> unto his father <01> and to his mother <0517>, I have not seen <07200> him; neither <03808> did he acknowledge <05234> his brethren <0251>, nor <03808> knew <03045> his own children <01121>: for they have observed <08104> thy word <0565>, and kept <05341> thy covenant <01285>.

10 They shall teach <03384> Jacob <03290> thy judgments <04941>, and Israel <03478> thy law <08451>: they shall put <07760> incense <07004> before <0639> thee, and whole <03632> burnt <03632> sacrifice upon thine altar <04196>.

11 Bless <01288>, LORD <03068>, his substance <03428>, and accept <07521> the work <06467> of his hands <03027>: smite <04272> through the loins <04975> of them that rise <06965> against him, and of them that hate <08130> him, that they rise <06965> not again.

12. [And] of Benjamin <01144> he said <0559>, The beloved <03039> of the LORD <03068> shall dwell <07931> in safety <0983> by him; [and the LORD] shall cover <02645> him all <03605> the day <03117> long, and he shall dwell <07931> between <0996> his shoulders <03802>.

13 And of Joseph <03130> he said <0559>, Blessed <01288> of the LORD <03068> [be] his land <0776>, for the precious <04022> things of heaven <08064>, for the dew <02919>, and for the deep <08415> that coucheth <07257> beneath <08478>,

14 And for the precious <04022> fruits <08393> [brought forth] by the sun <08121>, and for the precious <04022> things put <01645> forth <01645> by the moon <03391>,

15 And for the chief <07218> things of the ancient <06924> mountains <02042>, and for the precious <04022> things of the lasting <05769> hills <01389>,

17 His glory <01926> [is like] the firstling <01060> of his bullock <07794>, and his horns <07161> [are like] the horns <07161> of unicorns <07214>: with them he shall push <05055> the people <05971> together <03162> to the ends <0657> of the earth <0776>: and they [are] the ten <07233> thousands <07233> of Ephraim <0669>, and they [are] the thousands <0505> of Manasseh <04519>.

18. And of Zebulun <02074> he said <0559>, Rejoice <08055>, Zebulun <02074>, in thy going <03318> out; and, Issachar <03485>, in thy tents <0168>.

19 They shall call <07121> the people <05971> unto the mountain <02022>; there <08033> they shall offer <02076> sacrifices <02077> of righteousness <06664>: for they shall suck <03243> [of] the abundance <08228> of the seas <03220>, and [of] treasures <08226> hid <02934> in the sand <02344>.

20 And of Gad <01410> he said <0559>, Blessed <01288> [be] he that enlargeth <07337> Gad <01410>: he dwelleth <07931> as a lion <03833>, and teareth <02963> the arm <02220> with the crown <06936> of the head <06936>.

21 And he provided <07200> the first <07225> part for himself, because <03588> there <08033>, [in] a portion <02513> of the lawgiver <02710>, [was he] seated <05603>; and he came <0857> with the heads <07218> of the people <05971>, he executed <06213> the justice <06666> of the LORD <03068>, and his judgments <04941> with Israel <03478>.

22. And of Dan <01835> he said <0559>, Dan <01835> [is] a lion's <0738> whelp <01482>: he shall leap <02178> from Bashan <01316>.

23 And of Naphtali <05321> he said <0559>, O Naphtali <05321>, satisfied <07649> with favour <07522>, and full <04392> with the blessing <01293> of the LORD <03068>: possess <03423> thou the west <03220> and the south <01864>.

24 And of Asher <0836> he said <0559>, [Let] Asher <0836> [be] blessed <01288> with children <01121>; let him be acceptable <07522> to his brethren <0251>, and let him dip <02881> his foot <07272> in oil <08081>.

25 Thy shoes <04515> [shall be] iron <01270> and brass <05178>; and as thy days <03117>, [so shall] thy strength <01679> [be].

26. [There is] none <0369> like unto the God <0410> of Jeshurun <03484>, [who] rideth <07392> upon the heaven <08064> in thy help <05828>, and in his excellency <01346> on the sky <07834>.

27 The eternal <06924> God <0430> [is thy] refuge <04585>, and underneath <08478> [are] the everlasting <05769> arms <02220>: and he shall thrust <01644> out the enemy <0341> from before <06440> thee; and shall say <0559>, Destroy <08045> [them].

28 Israel <03478> then shall dwell <07931> in safety <0983> alone <0909>: the fountain <05869> of Jacob <03290> [shall be] upon a land <0776> of corn <01715> and wine <08492>; also <0637> his heavens <08064> shall drop <06201> down <06201> dew <02919>.

29 Happy <0835> [art] thou, O Israel <03478>: who <04310> [is] like <03644> unto thee, O people <05971> saved <03467> by the LORD <03068>, the shield <04043> of thy help <05828>, and who <0834> [is] the sword <02719> of thy excellency <01346>! and thine enemies <0341> shall be found liars <03584> unto thee; and thou shalt tread <01869> upon their high <01116> places.

Deuteronomy 34

1. And Moses <04872> went <05927> up from the plains <06160> of Moab <04124> unto the mountain <02022> of Nebo <05015>, to the top <07218> of Pisgah <06449>, that [is] over against <06440> Jericho <03405>. And the LORD <03068> shewed <07200> him all <03605> the land <0776> of Gilead <01568>, unto Dan <01835>,

2 And all <03605> Naphtali <05321>, and the land <0776> of Ephraim <0669>, and Manasseh <04519>, and all <03605> the land <0776> of Judah <03063>, unto the utmost <0314> sea <03220>,

3 And the south <05045>, and the plain <03603> of the valley <01237> of Jericho <03405>, the city <05892> of palm <08558> trees, unto Zoar <06820>.

4 And the LORD <03068> said <0559> unto him, This <02063> [is] the land <0776> which <0834> I sware <07650> unto Abraham <085>, unto Isaac <03327>, and unto Jacob <03290>, saying <0559>, I will give <05414> it unto thy seed <02233>: I have caused thee to see <07200> [it] with thine eyes <05869>, but thou shalt not go <05674> over <05674> thither <08033>.

5. So Moses <04872> the servant <05650> of the LORD <03068> died <04191> there <08033> in the land <0776> of Moab <04124>, according <05921> to the word <06310> of the LORD <03068>.

6 And he buried <06912> him in a valley <01516> in the land <0776> of Moab <04124>, over <04136> against <04136> Bethpeor <01047>: but no <03808> man <0376> knoweth <03045> of his sepulchre <06900> unto this <02088> day <03117>.

7 And Moses <04872> [was] an hundred <03967> and twenty <06242> years <08141> old <01121> when he died <04194>: his eye <05869> was not dim <03543>, nor <03808> his natural <03893> force <03893> abated <05127>.

8 And the children <01121> of Israel <03478> wept <01058> for Moses <04872> in the plains <06160> of Moab <04124> thirty <07970> days <03117>: so the days <03117> of weeping <01065> [and] mourning <060> for Moses <04872> were ended <08552>.

9. And Joshua <03091> the son <01121> of Nun <05126> was full <04392> of the spirit <07307> of wisdom <02451>; for Moses <04872> had laid <05564> his hands <03027> upon him: and the children <01121> of Israel <03478> hearkened <08085> unto him, and did <06213> as the LORD <03068> commanded <06680> Moses <04872>.

10 And there arose <06965> not a prophet <05030> since <05750> in Israel <03478> like unto Moses <04872>, whom <0834> the LORD <03068> knew <03045> face <06440> to face <06440>,
