Daniel 4
4:1 Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> the king <G 4430>, unto all <G 3606>
people <G 5972>, nations <G 0524>, and languages <G 3961>, that
dwell <G 1753> in all <G 3606> the earth <G 0772>; Peace <G
8001> be multiplied <G 7680> unto you.
4:2 I thought it good <G 8232> to shew <G 2324> the signs <G
0852> and wonders <G 8540> that the high <G 5943> God <G 0426>
hath wrought <G 5648> toward <G 5974> me.
4:3 How <G 4101> great <G 7260> [are] his signs <G 0852>! and
how <G 4101> mighty <G 8624> [are] his wonders <G 8540>! his
kingdom <G 4437> [is] an everlasting <G 5957> kingdom <G 4437>,
and his dominion <G 7985> [is] from generation <G 1859> to
generation <G 1859>.
4:4 I Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> was at rest <G 7954> in mine house
<G 1005>, and flourishing <G 7487> in my palace <G 1965>:
4:5 I saw <G 2370> a dream <G 2493> which made me afraid <G
1763>, and the thoughts <G 2031> upon my bed <G 4903> and the
visions <G 2376> of my head <G 7217> troubled <G 0927> me.
4:6 Therefore made <G 7761> I a decree <G 2942> to bring <G
5924> in all <G 3606> the wise <G 2445> [men] of Babylon <G
0895> before <G 6925> me, that they might make known <G 3046>
unto me the interpretation <G 6591> of the dream <G 2493>.
4:7 Then <G 0116> came <G 5954> in the magicians <G 2749>, the
astrologers <G 0826>, the Chaldeans <G 3779>, and the
soothsayers <G 1505>: and I told <G 0560> the dream <G 2493>
before <G 6925> them; but they did not make known <G 3046> unto
me the interpretation <G 6591> thereof.
4:8 But at <G 5706> the last <G 0318> Daniel <G 1841> came <G
5954> in before me, whose <G 1768> name <G 8036> [was]
Belteshazzar <G 1096>, according to the name <G 8036> of my god
<G 0426>, and in whom <G 1768> [is] the spirit <G 7308> of the
holy <G 6922> gods <G 0426>: and before <G 6925> him I told <G
0560> the dream <G 2493>, [saying],
4:9 O Belteshazzar <G 1096>, master <G 0729> of the magicians <G
2749>, because <G 1768> I know <G 3046> that the spirit <G 7308>
of the holy <G 6922> gods <G 0426> [is] in thee, and no secret
<G 7328> troubleth <G 0598> thee, tell <G 0560> me the visions
<G 2376> of my dream <G 2493> that I have seen <G 2370>, and the
interpretation <G 6591> thereof.
4:10 Thus [were] the visions <G 2376> of mine head <G 7217> in
my bed <G 4903>; I saw <G 2370>, and behold <G 0431> a tree <G
0363> in the midst <G 1459> of the earth <G 0772>, and the
height <G 7314> thereof [was] great <G 7690>.
4:11 The tree <G 0363> grew <G 7236>, and was strong <G 8631>,
and the height <G 7314> thereof reached <G 4291> unto heaven <G
8065>, and the sight <G 2379> thereof to the end <G 5491> of all
<G 3606> the earth <G 0772>:
4:12 The leaves <G 6074> thereof [were] fair <G 8509>, and the
fruit <G 4> thereof much <G 7690>, and in it [was] meat <G 4203>
for all <G 3606>: the beasts <G 2423> of the field <G 1251> had
shadow <G 2927> under <G 8460> it, and the fowls <G 6853> of the
heaven <G 8065> dwelt <G 1753> in the boughs <G 6056> thereof,
and all <G 3606> flesh <G 1321> was fed <G 2110> of it.
4:13 I saw <G 2370> in the visions <G 2376> of my head <G 7217>
upon my bed <G 4903>, and, behold <G 0431>, a watcher <G 5894>
and an holy <G 6922> one came <G 5182> down <G 5182> from heaven
<G 8065>;
4:14 He cried <G 7123> aloud <G 2429>, and said <G 0560> thus <G
3652>, Hew <G 1414> down the tree <G 0363>, and cut <G 7113> off
his branches <G 6056>, shake <G 5426> off <G 0575> his leaves <G
6074>, and scatter <G 0921> his fruit <G 4>: let the beasts <G
2423> get <G 5111> away <G 5111> from under <G 8478> it, and the
fowls <G 6853> from his branches <G 6056>:
4:15 Nevertheless <G 1297> leave <G 7662> the stump <G 6136> of
his roots <G 8330> in the earth <G 0772>, even with a band <G
0613> of iron <G 6523> and brass <G 5174>, in the tender grass
<G 1883> of the field <G 1251>; and let it be wet <G 6647> with
the dew <G 2920> of heaven <G 8065>, and [let] his portion <G
2508> [be] with the beasts <G 2423> in the grass <G 6211> of the
earth <G 0772>:
4:16 Let his heart <G 3825> be changed <G 8133> from man's <G
0606>, and let a beast's <G 2423> heart <G 3825> be given <G
3052> unto him; and let seven <G 7655> times <G 5732> pass <G
2499> over <G 5922> him.
4:17 This matter <G 6600> [is] by the decree <G 1510> of the
watchers <G 5894>, and the demand <G 7595> by the word <G 3983>
of the holy <G 6922> ones: to the intent <G 1701> that the
living <G 2417> may know <G 3046> that the most <G 5943> High <G
5943> ruleth <G 7980> in the kingdom <G 4437> of men <G 0606>,
and giveth <G 5415> it to whomsoever <G 4479> he will <G 6634>,
and setteth <G 6966> up over <G 5922> it the basest <G 8215> of
men <G 0606>.
4:18 This <G 1836> dream <G 2493> I king <G 4430> Nebuchadnezzar
<G 5020> have seen <G 2370>. Now thou, O Belteshazzar <G 1096>,
declare <G 0560> the interpretation <G 6591> thereof, forasmuch
as all <G 3606> the wise <G 2445> [men] of my kingdom <G 4437>
are not able <G 3202> to make known <G 3046> unto me the
interpretation <G 6591>: but thou [art] able <G 3546>; for the
spirit <G 7308> of the holy <G 6922> gods <G 0426> [is] in thee.
4:19 Then <G 0116> Daniel <G 1841>, whose <G 1768> name <G 8036>
[was] Belteshazzar <G 1096>, was astonied <G 8075> for one <G
2298> hour <G 8160>, and his thoughts <G 7476> troubled <G 0927>
him. The king <G 4430> spake <G 6032>, and said <G 0560>,
Belteshazzar <G 1096>, let not the dream <G 2493>, or the
interpretation <G 6591> thereof, trouble <G 0927> thee.
Belteshazzar <G 1096> answered <G 6032> and said <G 0560>, My
lord <G 4756>, the dream <G 2493> [be] to them that hate <G
8131> thee, and the interpretation <G 6591> thereof to thine
enemies <G 6146>.
4:20 The tree <G 0363> that thou sawest <G 2370>, which <G 1768>
grew <G 7236>, and was strong <G 8631>, whose height <G 7314>
reached <G 4291> unto the heaven <G 8065>, and the sight <G
2379> thereof to all <G 3606> the earth <G 0772>;
4:21 Whose leaves <G 6074> [were] fair <G 8509>, and the fruit
<G 4> thereof much <G 7690>, and in it [was] meat <G 4203> for
all <G 3606>; under <G 8460> which the beasts <G 2423> of the
field <G 1251> dwelt <G 1753>, and upon whose branches <G 6056>
the fowls <G 6853> of the heaven <G 8065> had their habitation
<G 7932>:
4:22 It [is] thou, O king <G 4430>, that art grown <G 7236> and
become <G 8631> strong <G 8631>: for thy greatness <G 7238> is
grown <G 7236>, and reacheth <G 4291> unto heaven <G 8065>, and
thy dominion <G 7985> to the end <G 5491> of the earth <G 0772>.
4:23 And whereas <G 1768> the king <G 4430> saw <G 2370> a
watcher <G 5894> and an holy <G 6922> one coming <G 5182> down
<G 5182> from heaven <G 8065>, and saying <G 0560>, Hew <G 1414>
the tree <G 0363> down, and destroy <G 2255> it; yet <G 1297>
leave <G 7662> the stump <G 6136> of the roots <G 8330> thereof
in the earth <G 0772>, even with a band <G 0613> of iron <G
6523> and brass <G 5174>, in the tender grass <G 1883> of the
field <G 1251>; and let it be wet <G 6647> with the dew <G 2920>
of heaven <G 8065>, and [let] his portion <G 2508> [be] with the
beasts <G 2423> of the field <G 1251>, till <G 5704> seven <G
7655> times <G 5732> pass <G 2499> over <G 5922> him;
4:24 This <G 1836> [is] the interpretation <G 6591>, O king <G
4430>, and this <G 1931> [is] the decree <G 1510> of the most <G
