Daniel 4
1. Nebuchadnezzar <5020 N@buwkadnetstsar > the king <4430 melek
>, unto all <3606 kol > people <5972 <am >, nations <0524 >ummah
>, and languages <3961 lishshan >, that dwell <1753 duwr > in
all <3606 kol > the earth <0772 >ara< >; Peace <8001 sh@lam > be
multiplied <7680 s@ga> > unto you.
2 I thought it good <8232 sh@phar > to shew <2324 chava> > the
signs <0852 >ath > and wonders <8540 t@mahh > that the high
<5943 <illay > God <0426 >elahh > hath wrought <5648 <abad >
toward <5974 <im > me.
3 How <4101 mah > great <7260 rabrab > [are] his signs <0852
>ath >! and how <4101 mah > mighty <8624 taqqiyph > [are] his
wonders <8540 t@mahh >! his kingdom <4437 malkuw > [is] an
everlasting <5957 <alam > kingdom <4437 malkuw >, and his
dominion <7985 sholtan > [is] from generation <1859 dar > to
generation <1859 dar >.
4. I Nebuchadnezzar <5020 N@buwkadnetstsar > was at rest <7954
sh@lah > in mine house <1005 bayith >, and flourishing <7487
ra<anan > in my palace <1965 heykal >:
5 I saw <2370 chaza> > a dream <2493 chelem > which made me
afraid <1763 d@chal >, and the thoughts <2031 harhor > upon my
bed <4903 mishkab > and the visions <2376 chezev > of my head
<7217 re>sh > troubled <0927 b@hal > me.
6 Therefore made <7761 suwm > I a decree <2942 t@<em > to bring
<5924 <ella> > in all <3606 kol > the wise <2445 chakkiym >
[men] of Babylon <0895 Babel > before <6925 qodam > me, that
they might make known <3046 y@da< > unto me the interpretation
<6591 p@shar > of the dream <2493 chelem >.
7 Then <0116 >edayin > came <5954 <alal > in the magicians
<2749 chartom >, the astrologers <0826 >ashshaph >, the
Chaldeans <3779 Kasday >, and the soothsayers <1505 g@zar >: and
I told <0560 >amar > the dream <2493 chelem > before <6925 qodam
> them; but they did not make known <3046 y@da< > unto me the
interpretation <6591 p@shar > thereof.
8 But at <5706 <ad > the last <0318 >ochoreyn > Daniel <1841
Daniye>l > came <5954 <alal > in before me, whose <1768 diy >
name <8036 shum > [was] Belteshazzar <1096 Belt@sha>tstsar >,
according to the name <8036 shum > of my god <0426 >elahh >, and
in whom <1768 diy > [is] the spirit <7308 ruwach > of the holy
<6922 qaddiysh > gods <0426 >elahh >: and before <6925 qodam >
him I told <0560 >amar > the dream <2493 chelem >, [saying],
9 O Belteshazzar <1096 Belt@sha>tstsar >, master <0729 >araz >
of the magicians <2749 chartom >, because <1768 diy > I know
<3046 y@da< > that the spirit <7308 ruwach > of the holy <6922
qaddiysh > gods <0426 >elahh > [is] in thee, and no secret <7328
raz > troubleth <0598 >anac > thee, tell <0560 >amar > me the
visions <2376 chezev > of my dream <2493 chelem > that I have
seen <2370 chaza> >, and the interpretation <6591 p@shar >
thereof.
10 Thus [were] the visions <2376 chezev > of mine head <7217
re>sh > in my bed <4903 mishkab >; I saw <2370 chaza> >, and
behold <0431 >aluw > a tree <0363 >iylan > in the midst <1459
gav > of the earth <0772 >ara< >, and the height <7314 ruwm >
thereof [was] great <7690 saggiy> >.
11 The tree <0363 >iylan > grew <7236 r@bah >, and was strong
<8631 t@qeph >, and the height <7314 ruwm > thereof reached
<4291 m@ta> > unto heaven <8065 shamayin >, and the sight <2379
chazowth > thereof to the end <5491 cowph > of all <3606 kol >
the earth <0772 >ara< >:
12 The leaves <6074 <ophiy > thereof [were] fair <8509 takriyk
>, and the fruit <4> thereof much <7690 saggiy> >, and in it
[was] meat <4203 mazown > for all <3606 kol >: the beasts <2423
cheyva> > of the field <1251 bar > had shadow <2927 t@lal >
under <8460 t@chowth > it, and the fowls <6853 ts@phar > of the
heaven <8065 shamayin > dwelt <1753 duwr > in the boughs <6056
<anaph > thereof, and all <3606 kol > flesh <1321 b@sar > was
fed <2110 zuwn > of it.
13 I saw <2370 chaza> > in the visions <2376 chezev > of my
head <7217 re>sh > upon my bed <4903 mishkab >, and, behold
<0431 >aluw >, a watcher <5894 <iyr > and an holy <6922 qaddiysh
> one came <5182 n@chath > down <5182 n@chath > from heaven
<8065 shamayin >;
14 He cried <7123 q@ra> > aloud <2429 chayil >, and said <0560
>amar > thus <3652 ken >, Hew <1414 g@dad > down the tree <0363
>iylan >, and cut <7113 q@tsats > off his branches <6056 <anaph
>, shake <5426 n@ther > off <0575 >an > his leaves <6074 <ophiy
>, and scatter <0921 b@dar > his fruit <4>: let the beasts <2423
cheyva> > get <5111 nuwd > away <5111 nuwd > from under <8478
tachath > it, and the fowls <6853 ts@phar > from his branches
<6056 <anaph >:
15 Nevertheless <1297 b@ram > leave <7662 sh@baq > the stump
<6136 <iqqar > of his roots <8330 shoresh > in the earth <0772
>ara< >, even with a band <0613 >ecuwr > of iron <6523 parzel >
and brass <5174 n@chash >, in the tender grass <1883 dethe> > of
the field <1251 bar >; and let it be wet <6647 ts@ba< > with the
dew <2920 tal > of heaven <8065 shamayin >, and [let] his
portion <2508 chalaq > [be] with the beasts <2423 cheyva> > in
the grass <6211 <ash > of the earth <0772 >ara< >:
16 Let his heart <3825 l@bab > be changed <8133 sh@na> > from
man's <0606 >enash >, and let a beast's <2423 cheyva> > heart
<3825 l@bab > be given <3052 y@hab > unto him; and let seven
<7655 shib<ah > times <5732 <iddan > pass <2499 chalaph > over
<5922 <al > him.
17 This matter <6600 pithgam > [is] by the decree <1510 g@zerah
> of the watchers <5894 <iyr >, and the demand <7595 sh@>ela> >
by the word <3983 me>mar > of the holy <6922 qaddiysh > ones: to
the intent <1701 dibrah > that the living <2417 chay > may know
<3046 y@da< > that the most <5943 <illay > High <5943 <illay >
ruleth <7980 shalat > in the kingdom <4437 malkuw > of men <0606
>enash >, and giveth <5415 n@than > it to whomsoever <4479 man >
he will <6634 ts@ba> >, and setteth <6966 quwm > up over <5922
<al > it the basest <8215 sh@phal > of men <0606 >enash >.
18 This <1836 den > dream <2493 chelem > I king <4430 melek >
Nebuchadnezzar <5020 N@buwkadnetstsar > have seen <2370 chaza> >.
Now thou, O Belteshazzar <1096 Belt@sha>tstsar >, declare <0560
>amar > the interpretation <6591 p@shar > thereof, forasmuch as
all <3606 kol > the wise <2445 chakkiym > [men] of my kingdom
<4437 malkuw > are not able <3202 y@kel > to make known <3046
y@da< > unto me the interpretation <6591 p@shar >: but thou
[art] able <3546 k@hal >; for the spirit <7308 ruwach > of the
holy <6922 qaddiysh > gods <0426 >elahh > [is] in thee.
19. Then <0116 >edayin > Daniel <1841 Daniye>l >, whose <1768
diy > name <8036 shum > [was] Belteshazzar <1096 Belt@sha>tstsar
>, was astonied <8075 sh@mam > for one <2298 chad > hour <8160
sha<ah >, and his thoughts <7476 ra<yown > troubled <0927 b@hal
> him. The king <4430 melek > spake <6032 <anah >, and said
<0560 >amar >, Belteshazzar <1096 Belt@sha>tstsar >, let not the
dream <2493 chelem >, or the interpretation <6591 p@shar >
thereof, trouble <0927 b@hal > thee. Belteshazzar <1096
Belt@sha>tstsar > answered <6032 <anah > and said <0560 >amar >,
My lord <4756 mare> >, the dream <2493 chelem > [be] to them
that hate <8131 s@ne> > thee, and the interpretation <6591
p@shar > thereof to thine enemies <6146 <ar >.
20 The tree <0363 >iylan > that thou sawest <2370 chaza> >,
which <1768 diy > grew <7236 r@bah >, and was strong <8631
